Question for those that have been down this path with older daughters.... what is the down side to being on a B team. So for example, some 'B' teams are way better than some clubs A teams.
Is there a down side to being on a quality B team that plays among the A teams? I feel like Heros White is only team that can say they are better than some A teams, but as we saw with HW 2026, you are there only to serve A team, as soon as a kid shines, A team will take them or another top club, so there’s going to be lots of TO It’s better to be on the worst A team than the best B team. Coaches will be at your game. B girls do not get called up to A teams. Except maybe goalies. A teams are bursting at seams with available players. Parents howl when B girls are called up. Get thee to an A team tryout stat. Bad take !!! Play at Sw , Heros or M&D second team and don’t call them B teams. You will be much better off than playing at TLC , Renegades , Check Hers , HOcO. More talent and better resources for sure. The M&D Red and Hero’s White might be okay in HS… Hero’s White currently is the best of them. But have you watched SW? The Blue team has a long way to go but will get there but that White team is a waste of money. Here’s the truth about B teams in high school, they are pretty irrelevant. For example, at presidents cup (the most important recruiting event) they would have 2-4 coaches max at a game. Mid / bottom tier teams like TLC red had 8-12. Skywalkers / M&D had 18+ last year in Dallas at most games . Sw/ Heros / M&D top teams had 30-60 teams at presidents cup. And the top schools.

Why even play for a club in hs? Just go play for an IAAM team, get plenty of college looks, and be done with it. The cost. Not everyone has the money to sent any or all of their kids to private school.

Speaking as a parent of older girls, here are 2 points - recruiting happens 95% from clubs as high school season is the same as college season so no opportunity to be seen. - don’t worry about a or b, go where your kid will be happy and appreciated. That is way more important than anything else and there will be plenty of opportunities to be seen no matter where you are

So when do this week's lines come out? Should be interesting since there don't appear to be many blowouts "on paper".
Hopefully most of the catholic school kids are break from spring break for Sundays games.

My guess is if any BLC girls don't plan to tryout for Capital, they will look to leave sooner rather than later. Interesting thing will be the coach of the 27 team has other daughters playing for sky walkers.
And realistically, how many BLC 2027s will make Capital - maybe 5 or 6?
Depends on how many tryout. The X factor is always how many superstars girls from other VA clubs tryout. (VA Metro, Cavalier). There also seem to be a couple girls added who no one expects. CavLax in Charlottesville also has a couple outstanding 27s. If they tryout for Capital then its probably a pride or BLC girl who drops off.

Why even play for a club in hs? Just go play for an IAAM team, get plenty of college looks, and be done with it. It’s in the middle of the college season, coaches really aren’t attending games in mass like summer or fall . 2-3 max and usually local or playing local team. Although the Clemson coach was at spsg practice the other day but that was probably a high school or club connection Cmon let’s think. How was Clemson able to come to a high school practice ?

Clemson isn't playing until 2023, so they can attend HS functions.

There are few girls on SPSG that committed there as well. But as previous people noted, college coaches aren't watching high school games due to bandwidth, next summer / fall is all about the 24s.

No teams will actively recruit during their season plain and simple

She might get on a radar from a camp in 9th grade but coaches aren't looking that far ahead.

You won’t always get recruited in season unless it’s by a start up. Don’t count on this every year.

Clemson will be taking the Duke & VA 2nd liners, NC, BC & Syracuse 3rd/4th liners through the transfer portal to play in their first couple of years, only the cream of the crop that they take from HS will see the field in their first 2 years. The Portal is the worst enemy that our girls will face in their recruiting efforts, and you won't know the true outcome of your selection until you get to your chosen school 2 years later. So make they like the school and not just the lacrosse at the school.

Yeah, you’re seeing it in other sports. Little Jenny is not starting her Freshman year so she looks to transfer. Or maybe Jenny paid her dues and finally became a starter her junior year, only to be back on the bench as the team brought in 4 new transfers. The portal is a game changer. It can help kids too though. If you don’t like the school, coach, team or whatever, it’s much easier to transfer somewhere else. A double edged sword for sure.

Clemson is already cleaning up on transfers and that will not change for the foreseeable future. From an education perspective, not sure why anyone would transfer from a Duke, UVA or BC caliber school for an average degree/education?

Remember a majority of Clemson's transfer are PG transfers using their extra year of covid eligibility. While transfer will continue to impact the game, it will be much less after 2024.

You also need to remember that most of the higher-academic schools like Duke,UNC,ND and even BC have pretty high restriction on non-grad transfers. These schools can lose kids but relly can't add them, except for grad transfers

Over/under 14.5 I'll take a 4 team parlay. Give me BLC + 3.5 (I think 1 or 2 goals either way, wouldn't be surprised if BLC wins) Hero's -5.5 ( too much offense for Integrity to handle) Hero's White will win by 3 Total goals for M&D and BLC will be 16

I like Hero's Green -5.5 too. Not drinking the Integrity Kool-Aid just yet.
M&D could pound BLC. The two aren't as close as some think. BLC will be lucky to win one draw.
LBC will likely throttle Cavalier.
I think the Pride line is on point.
I'll take the under on the Prop bet. Could see a 9-5 or 8-4 M&D win
Good luck to all teams this Sunday!

Ill take a 3-team parlay
CCLAX + 6: TLC just can't score enough to win by 7 Hero's -5.5: Heros is jelling at the right time and Integrity isn't a team built to play from behind M&D/BLC. Under 14.5: BLC just can't play at a high tempo and I imagine M&D slows it down once they get up three. Wouldn't be surprised if this game goes under 10.

Good luck to all teams this Sunday! I don't think M&D pounds BLC. (though I think they win). The best part of M&Ds offense if their ability to convert turnovers into fast break goals. Their settled play offense is very average (at least for this level). BLC won't commit lots of bad clears or unforced turnovers. This is why they win beat bad teams in blowouts and play close low scoring games against well disciplined teams. So far this season, they have score more than 9 once against a quality team (14-3 vs. Pride at Chesapeake). That said, I still think they win NGLL because their defense is head and shoulder better than anyone else.

First time seeing BLC. I thought they were extremely well coached and a better all around team. Hopefully we have something for them in a few weeks.

Nems lost by 5 to Coppermine, not sure what is happens if there because they have some talent but D needs help.
Skywalkers lost by 2 to heroes white, neither team has a good D. Skywalkers had 14-18 turnovers, probably should have won by 3m if they cut turnovers in half

Pretty good again this week. You got 5 of 7 right- spot on with Hero’s Green and LBC wins. Shocker was M&D loss. Then the one you were most off on was NEMS- 12pt swing with Coppermine.

Also heard they may not lose any girls as Hopkins coach will be involved with Coppermine next year.

White hasn't lost to Skywalkers in a couple of years. If those teams combined, they’d be really good. Heroes was well coached and had normal parents which is always nice. Would love if some of those girls tried out this summer. Truth is there are too many club teams and it is watered down for A bracket, a lot of parody

Curious how parody makes it watered down? I would think the parody among the middle of the pack teams is a good thing. Dropping the lower third of the A level would create more challenging games for all teams.
Side rant…wishing the NGLL Mid-Atlantic would just wipe out the racket that are summer showcase tourneys…let the girls play a 25-30 NGLL game schedule (use those weeknights - most fields have lights). Then knock down the Summer to one or two high powered events. (4) 22 minute running clock games in 105 degrees on a poorly lined field with referees that just watched a YouTube video on girls lax is brutal.
