Hawks starting goalie (#99) gave up 6 goals to Tigers. Backup goalie gave up 2 goals. Get your facts straight.

I still don't understand. Why is it that Lax is the only sport where you kid "holds back a year " to prove how good he is. every other sport I know of you "play up a year when you are good. My "real 2026" is competing for a starting job on his varsity team in the Rochester NY area. Maybe I should hold him back? That will definitely show everyone how good he is.. ROFL So your 8th grader is competing for a varsity spot on his High School team? I am sure Duke is already giving him looks right? SMH No, he said his 8th grade age kid, who is in 9th grade is competing for a starting spot. and he goes to public since most privates have started already How many 8 graders playing varsity in MIAA? Not permitted in MIAA except for scrimmages.

Looks like HoCo solved the 10 team division problem by adding a AAAA level and limiting each division to 8 teams: Elite: NL MLC 91 DCE Black VLC Crabs True Annapolis Green Hawks AAAA Cannons Crabs Hardshells Sidewinders HoCo TRW Top Caliber Looney's FCA AAA Zingos Black Dark Horse Coastal Academy Breakers Blue Roughriders Team Maryland White DEC Orange Kooper's AA A B Hard core troll....we are probably 8-9 days away from finding out the week 1 match ups. Week 2, about 15 days.

Yep. Four 1 goal losses. And Looney's had best goal differential (-9) by far of any team with a losing record. Team 91 had a -29. Next Level? -31, lmao. Looney's added great players and, more importantly, got back a starting attack man and big, fast middle who were out the past season and two seasons, respectively. Has Looney's upgraded their face off game? Last year they lost practically every face off but kept their games close. If they had gone 50/50 or even 40/60 on faceoffs their win/loss record probably would have .500.

Should put them in the top of their division.

Niether of you understand metrics, statistics, or correlational relationships. There is no direct, significant statistical correlation between FOW% and game winning %. The only statistic that is proven to show significant statistical correlation to game winning % is outscoring the opponent.

They also presume that a faceoff win leads to an offensive scoring opportunity (getting the ball in the box), which discounts a turnover which occurs before the team who wins the faceoff is able to get the ball into the box for a scoring possession.

Your claim is true in every sport with a faceoff as long as there is "basic parity" in FO wins per game. If you are winning 40% instead of 60%, no statistically significant impact on points scored, points surrendered, or wins. No real impact on time of possession either! However the correlation is non linear and "possibly significant" when the FO wins heavily favors one team. A team winning 90% of FOs is highly correlated with wins. The triggering win/loss percentage on FO is likely around 2:1 or 70/30, etc. You can really go down the rabbit hole on "why" but generally if you lose 100% of faceoffs, you are not winning that game.

This 100%. From what I heard they maybe won 10% of their FO last year (or less). That’s not to say winning 50% or their FO would guarantee a win, but it would have improved their chances - especially with so many 1 goal games.

Hey Stunads - this was clearly a Tigers dad arguing that the goalie didn’t matter (in response to someone writing the game was close until the backup went it). Get your nose checked and get better at reading.
