Looneys getting dropped from Elite and not 91. Ridiculous...we kill them every year!!! Is this official? I have not seen the actual division breakdown from HOCO. My understanding is they sent a preliminary division breakdown to the coaches and got a lot of complaints and are currently working through the final alignment. Season starts in a week so you would think they have to decide this fairly soon.

There are play in games on Sunday to see who gets into Elite. It’s between FCA, Looneys, Top Caliber, and Next Level. One of those teams will be in Elite. The other 3 will be in AAAA.

Tigers had a full roster last weekend. Kids got hurt but the whole team was there. Whole team would have been there this weekend.

Looks like HoCo solved the 10 team division problem by adding a AAAA level and limiting each division to 8 teams:
Elite: NL MLC 91 DCE Black VLC Crabs True Annapolis Green Hawks
AAAA Cannons Crabs Hardshells Sidewinders HoCo TRW Top Caliber Looney's FCA
AAA Zingos Black Dark Horse Coastal Academy Breakers Blue Roughriders Team Maryland White DEC Orange Kooper's
AA
A
B
Seems strange they would keep NL Elite and move Looney's down. Looney's had a better record. They also played the best teams and played them tight.
Seems pretty cut and dry to me.
US Club Ranking Division 2 Elite 10 Elite 17 Elite 19 Elite 26 Elite 29 Elite 38 Elite 43 Elite 68 AAAA 69 AAAA 72 AAAA 75 AAAA 80 AAAA 87 AAAA 94 AAAA 98 AAAA 118 AAA 119 AAA 142 AAA 155 AAA 159 AAA 169 AAA NA AAA NA AAA
You're thinking too logically. I'm sure coaches are complaining where they've been placed.
No logic here!

I hope all you butt hurt dads put this much time and energy into your sons’ academic performance. With the exception of 1 or 2 teams, the current elite group looks like a 2025 division. Let them play each other instead of constantly playing down on younger kids (and obnoxiously gloating about it, which is comical in itself). Considering you made the decision to “re-class” your kids because they couldn’t keep up with their same-age peers, learning loss should be your main focus. Just relax and let these kids be kids and play the game they love.

Obviously you have not met the parents. This board heats up when two things happen a) Hawks win HOCO and the bragging is obnoxious b) Hawks lose and this place really heats up with negative comments and projection about other teams, sad.

Looneys is a rage tag operation at any moment. They have difficulties fielding teams at every grade level. Because they are probably closing up shop after the first week.

FCA will take down TC, then NL, to get the last spot Looney’s - improved D, improved FO, improved Midfield and their 3rd best attackman is back from last year. They win this play in hands down.

This still cracks me up. Is this a troll or a delusional parent? You should win the play in, but please stop saying improved defense.

It looks like the playoff is based strictly off last year's regular season Elite division standings.
The top seven teams in order were Hawks, Crabs, True, DCE, MadLax, VLC, and 91.
The next three in order were FCA, Looneys, NextLevel, and the AAA champ was Top Caliber.
So the bottom three, plus TC, are playing a four-way play-in with seedings 1 v 4 and 2 v 3.
Sounds pretty logical and fair, no?

As someone who doesn't have a dog in the fight, I find it comical that it's a week before the season starts and HoCo still hasn't figured out the Divisions and now they have to have a play-in because the egos in this group of clubs is out of control. If you want your team to be in Elite then your past performance should prove that out. Or maybe the powers that be are just caught up in March Madness and see that the NCAA now has play-in games to get to the round of 64 so why not HoCo.

I think you are confusing Looneys, who lost to VLC by 1 last spring, with FCA, who lost to VLC by 1 this past weekend. But you are right that there are a lot of close games and all the teams are improving. Of the eleven potential elite division teams, the middle 7 or 8 probably could beat each other on any given day.
