Is this the last season of HoCo where 2028s will play on Sundays? I heard 2027s will play all HoCo regular season games on Saturdays this year. Does that happen every year for 7th graders: they transition them to a Saturday game schedule?

FCA, Next Level, Hawks, and Blue Claw all playing at Elite 6 Challenge this weekend This needs to be corrected to say players from these teams are participating in the elite 6. It’s not the whole team(s) and no one really cares. That said it’s fun for the boys. Well obviously you do with this post........so your sons team will not have its entire team and more than likely lose so the excuses begin. Am I close? would love to see at least one conversation on this forum not turn into this kind. but I guess it's a losing battle This line of insults is just where the hawks parents usually end up with their roster full of teenagers. Congrats on another picture guys.

And no, this isn't because of Covid. It's been like this for the past 5 seasons we have played in this league.

Isn't the HoCo club signup deadline today? Any word from our Man (or Mom) on the inside at HoCo on how big the divisions will be? I recall the last intel was:
Elite (8) AAA (10) AA (8) A (10) No B No C

The schedule for spring thaw in Delaware next weekend is out on tourney machine looks like we will have to wait for spring to see a hawks, mad lax or crabs game. Neither team plays one another next week.

Right. Where is the guy(s) ranting about how there were simply fewer kids interested and playing at 2028? Why don't we wait and see how many teams signed up from VA, PA, and DE, before we make big conclusions about youth lax in *Maryland*. It's interesting that 250+ of the 800 kids are playing at the lowest level in the league. MYLA teams entering the fold because the "Koopers League" isn't running, maybe?

If by lowest level you mean A, then there are likely to be 8 teams which is the same amount of teams playing in the highest division. Why do you think this is interesting?

Looks like VLC should be the 8th elite team. Only basing this on who they have lined up to play and compete against.
Kelly Post and Blue Claws - not so much. Don’t even attempt to play the level of competition as VLC. There is nothing wrong with this and this is OK as AAA will be very very competitive - they both should stay there.

I doubt it's the case. Lose/lose situation for the directors of Claws and KP. With the programs ending after 8th grade, how they retain talent through Spring 2024 is a question and a gamble.....stay in AAA and have the best players shopping for Elite spots (which already started last summer), or go Elite and get shellacked like BLC did last year. I know parents on both of those teams whose reason for staying this year was that their son would be "featured" "when the team goes elite in spring 2022." As I said lose/lose in terms of parent (client) satisfaction.

Not that it means anything and not the elite 6 means anything but just saying.

Do any True parents out there have thoughts on the program? There are some compelling things about having full-time professional staff and a more systematic approach to development, but curious if it works from the inside the way they sell it on the outside. Thanks.

Elite 6 might not mean anything but Blue Claws got demolished by an Elite team at that event. It would be virtually impossible for them to compete at the Elite level this year.

Ehh everyone loves to detest on the True program.. money grab bla bla bla (all clubs are money grabs btw.) Solid staff, great support for players and coaches, ample opportunity to get better. Specialized position skills training offered outside of practice times. Great option if you’re in the Annapolis area and don’t want to deal with the egos that go along with the Hawks players, staff, and parents.

I’d say less than 10% of the true players could play for the Annapolis Hawks. Those egos have been earned with a decade of superiority. Ironically enough there is plenty drama and ego in the true program, just without the winning. The only thing that they are earning is W-2s for their coaches.

You are paying for a chance for your kid to grow, get noticed, and hopefully play at the next level one day whether it be D1, D2 or D3. The biggest money grabs are the National teams. Absolutely outragious prices just to play in a tournament or a clinic. On another note....if you are a KP or Blue Claws parent are you moving your kid after this season knowing they have no teams after 8th grade?

The only thing that they are earning is W-2s for their coaches. 10% is LOL because the True Nap starters could clearly substitute for the 3rd line Hawks players and that's 30-35%. But overall your post is solid. True "works" under the model that every kid naturally improves from reps and opportunities (not unlike National teams), and that you should pay for every rep. But a lot of kids don't need "just more reps" and a regional and national team to play on, or multiple coaches, etc. When the True Virus/Cult tried to sweep through our local club, we were taken in by "the True app" the "faceoff trainings in Chicago" and the fact that they were "always practicing." The speed of the practices is good, too. But it's 100% reps and 0% IQ........not what every player needs. And of course "pay by the rep" LOL.

Is Bored MD dad still around?
Seems like a good time to update the preseason rankings. Tournaments start this weekend and HoCo right around the corner.
Hopefully the all star/national/regional teams don’t get in the way of accessing real teams but that’s just my two cents.
