No. It’s toxic, over-entitled parents who got in the ear of the superintendent. She was at the game. No other reason to be there unless you were trying to look for something. They’re going after the assistant too who is a beloved teacher in town. Players have been left hanging without explanation. They wouldn’t even let players speak at the school board meeting about it. The my shut down public comment after 10 minutes when it was clear there were a number of players and parents in attendance to show their support.

1-1 yesterday, with the make-up of the P'ville /Dobbs game. 24-5 overall.
Sleepy Hollow at Haldane: SH
Westlake at Byram Hills: BH
Carmel at Irvington: Crml
Edgemont at Dobbs Ferry: Edgmnt
Harrison at Greeley: Greeley
Tappan Zee at Hen Hud: TZ
Briarcliff at St. Anthony's,: B'cliff
Yorktown at Somers: Y!
Hastings at New Rochelle: Hsgts
Bronxville vs. Fordham: Bxville
Ridgefield at Rye: Rdgfd.
Greenwich (Conn.) at Mamaroneck: G'wich
Putnam Valley at Brewster: Brwstr
Pleasantville at Pelham; Pville . Bold pick B’cliff over #3 IL ranked team. If they take them down certainly would hope B’Cliff would break in to the national rankings. Just taking a chance and hoping for a miracle. Worth a try. St Anthonys was pretty impressive. Depth and top talent at every position. Good part for B’Cliff is at least they get that game on the schedule and get to test themselves.

Brian is a great guy, I knew him from his House of Sports days... I wonder what happened because it seems that there was a discipline issue that got him fired. This wasn't a disciplinary thing. This was crazy, entitled parents getting to the Superintendent to oust him so they can have a coach that would do what they want. This was in the works. Why else would a superintendent be at an away game? She was there to "find" things to use as reasons. That game was physical, and yes some chirping but nothing from either side that was out of the ordinary. Definitely nothing that a coach should be fired over. This was all done behind closed doors and specifically that day because there was a board meeting later that night. Players and parents went to go to speak on his behalf and after only 1-2 people spoke, they closed the meeting and kicked everyone out. Good luck finding any coach that is wiling to put up with that.

Good luck finding any coach that is wiling to put up with that. Seems how these things tend to go these days. Though I bet the coaches are no angels, when the Super and Board play this way they are just about undefeatable. The classic "no more comments" at public meetings is a cheap move. The players and their parents have to be willing to play chicken with the Board if they really support their coaches. Will they fight that fight? Hardly ever do. Greeley needs a Jimmy Chitwood.

They had him already. That's the guy that just go shown the door. The families and players are asking the questions and demanding answers. They aren't getting any. There isn't a card for them to play here. if there was, it would be played. Players were talking boycott playing at one point. The superintendent holds the power here and she uses it all the time.

Greeley just advertised that they are seeking a Boys JV head coach. I'm guessing the bumped up the JV coach and now have no one for JV.

It was running time 2 minutes into the 3rd quarter. It's bad. But, this is what some parents wanted. Greeley will be lucky to get 1-2 more wins this year.

I recognize that the poster is a lone wolf that continues to be bitter about JJ's past seasons and the statement definitely can be misconstrued. I believe HS players are suppose to "actually want to play" for their school (community), themselves and friends. Also, can we put an end to any further negative posts about how the JJ HS lax program underachieved while under TS, because there is a pattern/history of JJ coaches being forced out by parents. CK is thriving at Pleasantville, NS is successful at Kennedy Catholic and Y is happy to have TS back home. Coach MB, you are on the clock and 2028 parents will soon be talking.

TS wasn’t forced out, he left on his own. And Town has pushed out several coaches over the years, you can construe it in a different way but the parents were all over Coach C. Best of luck with your new guy, please report back in 2 years

4-1 in Saturday's games and 58-16 overall.
Since last season, isn't Rye on a 3-0 win streak over Y? If so, someone will have to check the record books and see when the last time Y lost 3 consecutive games to a single Section 1 opponent. Better look back to the pre-1980's. Y's schedule this week is a true test; Home games against Darien and Cold Spring Harbor and away at Chaminade.

What happened 5-40 years ago is over and done with. High level lax has become a “rich man’s”sport. Look at the new landscape of top level lacrosse, Rye, Bronxville, Briarcliff, and all of the private schools. No knock on them, just the way it is. Y is also becoming a baseball town too, tons of families moving into the town who have no understanding of lacrosse and dads grew up on baseball and are having their kids play that instead. Y still has a phenomenal youth program and will always be competitive but will not walk through section 1 anymore.

Ben Potash- best coach in the area- hands down!!!!! The short term returns aren't exactly backing that up. But, he's now in a tough position now. He's the de facto head coach. the FB coach is basically the adult in the room, but won't be much lacrosse help. There is a JV coach helping where he can. He's a guy that is now thrust into a Head Coach role having never done it before. Add the crazy parent situation and it's a recipe for failure. I hope he succeeds, but if I were him, I'd freshen up my resume and look elsewhere when the season is over. The parent issue and the administration aren't changing. The minute he does something a parent doesn't like, the superintendent will be breathing down his neck. Who wants to deal with that?

This is one of the biggest issues with parent complaints - they have very little true idea of what it take to run a program. All they see is what is on the field during games. If you truly listen to some of the comments coming form the stands, to anyone with half a lacrosse brain will tell you it's usually wrong, and without any understanding of underlying nuances. It's easy to be a complainer and point out what isn't working. Its a much different monster to be the one actually doing it.

Yorktown loses a tough one to Darien 9-8 in 2OT. Was down 5-2 after one quarter and battled back. Good showing, but Darien looked very unimpressive. Their goalie had 2 saves by my count, and both were shots that hit him in the chest.

Darien (Conn.) at Yorktown: Darien UGH, 6--6 without the results of the Westlake NS game! (60-21 overall) Four games that I'm surprised about are: Greeley with a road win, Byram losing at home, Fox winning at home, and Y showing some grit in a double OT game. Today's 2 games: B'cliff over Ramapo, and Pelham over WP

Goalie from Y had a great game, made them stop shooting from the outside and coaches had an awesome game plan.

Darien looked poor against a good not great NC team, and it continued in this game. Missing the net on open looks, and dropping the ball on simple and accurate passes. The goalie literally hasn't made a stick save on an outside shot all year. Yorktown played decently and the goalie played well, but just pointing out that I don't think a 2OT loss to Darien is as strong a signal as it might've seemed coming into the season. Also I disagree that they made them stop shooting from outside -- they went to zone precisely to invite Darien to shoot from distance, and their goalie was up to the task. Good coaching adjustment after a first quarter where they struggled in man-to-man.

Yorktown’s not living in the past — washed up dads who got abused by the green & white for the better part of 60 years are. Don’t thrust the feelings of adults on kids. The kids on the team aren’t influenced by anything that’s happened in the past. Town will be just fine moving forward and will be battling for a Sec 1 title in May, per usual.
