Some of you *do* realize entire coaching staffs were down there? So teams likely had representatives at both the 23s AND 24s, right? There were nearly 700 coaches there. There were many at 23s and 24s. The narrative that they weren’t at 24s is an agenda being pushed by clubs whose teams didn’t attend 700. How long did it take you to count all of them ? Seems like more were at the two MD showcases in the Fall Its one coaches mission to make everyone feel that her is elite because they went to Dallas. Oh boy here we go again. Your grudge is so transparent and ridiculous. There are dozens of posts on here about coaches being on sidelines in Dallas. It isn’t just one team it’s all of the teams that attended grow up No grudge and no names. Just stating the obvious. You are arguing about anything and everything to keep the event in the limelight. Ok- we get it, you went and love yourself but can we move on? It’s one stop in a very long road.

yes this is so true. parents should read this quote a few times and start doing some proactive things for their kids. having a JY uniform on does not mean you are automatically getting recruited and it also doesnt mean that YJ will do any of the leg work to help get you recruited. YJ focus is on the A team AND only the top 5 or 6 on the A team because they know that those are the girls that will commit to a top 10 school which makes it look good for the JY program NO ONE is doing the legwork for your kid to get recruited except YOU and your kid. Do not rely on any coach, coordinator or director at ANY club to spearhead your child’s recruiting You must teach your child how to market herself (at camps and on social media) and how to advocate for herself ( with good film and emails to coaches). Which team you are on only gets you so far. No matter how great a reputation a club has the director or coordinator can only do so much and there are a ton of girls looking for the directors help. Be proactive. Look at naviance and college board and create a list of schools then look at the lacrosse programs and see if she can realistically play their. Send your emails and film always Keep your coach and director in the loop Sound advice. There are a very limited number of players who will attract the attention of the coaches at the Top 10 - 20 college programs. These are the players that don’t have to market themselves, the coaches watch the players play and the proactively reach out to the player. For most , the player I needs to be proactive in Marketing themselves to college coaches. Do not believe the mantra “if you are good the college coaches will find you”. That may be true for the elite athletes but not for the majority of players. - Identify target schools - develop a plan to market yourself to coaches - Identify influencers / trusted advisors.. people who can reach out to college coaches… Club Coach, Club Director, HS Coach, current players / former players at the school that you / your daughter might know etc… who are willing to reach out and put in a good word / ask the coaches to take a look. - Be persistent (don’t be a pest) things change, coaches do not get all of the players that they want, they are consistently revising their list and prioritizing players. - if your daughter receives interest from programs that she is not interested in look for similar caliber programs at schools she might be interested in. For the most part, birds of a feather… for the most part the recruiting process will tell you what level the player is most likely at. - Coaches want players who want to go to their school and play for their program.
I think most of this is helpful. Keep it classy BOTC.

I’ve posted 2-3 times on this topic and I’m not a coach, but a parent of a 24 who attended. It seems like people who didn’t attend are trying to use others as a scapegoat for their program messing this one up. That’s no one’s fault other than the club owners and office staff. The few clubs that didn’t attend can’t blame other coaches, parents, or the iwcla for this. It isn’t about loving ourselves for attending. The question on if the event had coaches on 24 sidelines was presented as well as if it was a good event for players to be seen. The simple answer is yes. Over 600 coaches lined on 23 AND 24 sidelines definitely helps the kids who attended. No one is bad mouthing your team for NOT attending. You need to get over yourself and stop blaming others for the shortcomings.

Also a fact that teams that went got something out of it. Now comes the winter, spring, and summer. If you thought parents were crazy now just wait. Buckle up y’all.

Unless of course you have something to gain in $$$ or status? but you are beating a dead horse at this point. We got your point many days ago and now you are arguing over the number of coaches, the impact of these coaches, then how to tell how many coaches and then circling back to arguing some more. Maybe you should find a new hobby or marketing strategy.

What are your recruiting directors or coaching doing for you ? I was reading another thread about things the club should be helping recruiting age players with and am curious what type of help you are receiving ? Recruiting director: a zoom on recruiting and tournaments, contact to colleges pre/post tournaments, email templates, conferences with players about top choices. Coach: multiple zooms on how to use connect lax, one about sports recruits tomorrow, reviewed recruiting profiles to help market our daughter properly, has helped us make film/taught us how to make our own, contact to coaches pre/post tournaments, runs social media, flyers for coaches with roster and jersey #s, first email templates and feedback through google drive, help with follow up emails, help with end of fall emails, multiple emails and chats about different schools camps/showcases/etc. Coach and recruiting director seem to go back and forth before sending things out and note it when sending us information. The support we have received is amazing. We are beyond grateful.

Have your daughter be proactive and email coaches at the schools she is interested in. Send them a link to her web page. Send a link to her highlight video. Ask when they are having any prospect days/camps. Send them a list of her upcoming game schedule and which showcases she will be at. Get on their email list. These are the best ways to have coaches get to know you. Get in front of them at Prospect days. The chances of getting a "good" look at a game they are there to watch is very difficult.

What club are you with ???? See my previous reply OK, totally respect that. However, a lot of people come to BOTC to hopefully get info. From parents on the clubs they are currently on. Especially the ones who have younger kids who are trying to find a club for their kids. It’s good to hear from parents what they do and don’t like about their kids current clubS. I personally talk to parents from different clubs to try and get their perspective. It helped a lot with my kid, and I didn’t waste years on her first club because I knew they did zero to help in recruiting from talking to the older kids parents.

NO ONE is doing the legwork for your kid to get recruited except YOU and your kid. Get that video up if not done already. Connect Lax we like but several others .
Don’t be afraid to ask but work towards being somewhat self sufficient. Some of these clubs have A and B teams at every age. That’s a ton of girls needing help from directors. Be aware that many girls get lost. It’s up to you to advocate for your player. A few clubs only have one team per age which is a big plus if you can get on.
We like female non parent coaches that have played and coached at the highest level. HS and college if you can find it. Lord knows we pay enough and deserve it.
If they want it-Plenty of places to play for women D1-D2-D3 and club, It’s about getting an education and maybe having some fun at the same time.

The zooms we have done with our coach have been extremely helpful because they teach us what to do and give us feedback. A big emphasis on kids doing it and not us for our kids. We are grateful for the hammerhead box jesters has given us, but we know in the end up comes down to our daughter doing her part.

If they want it-Plenty of places to play for women D1-D2-D3 and club, It’s about getting an education and maybe having some fun at the same time. Yes! The zooms we have done with our coach have been extremely helpful because they teach us what to do and give us feedback. A big emphasis on kids doing it and not us for our kids. We are grateful for the hammerhead box jesters has given us, but we know in the end up comes down to our daughter doing her part.
Lol 😂 Some free advertising on BOTC

What club are you with ???? See my previous reply OK, totally respect that. However, a lot of people come to BOTC to hopefully get info. From parents on the clubs they are currently on. Especially the ones who have younger kids who are trying to find a club for their kids. It’s good to hear from parents what they do and don’t like about their kids current clubS. I personally talk to parents from different clubs to try and get their perspective. It helped a lot with my kid, and I didn’t waste years on her first club because I knew they did zero to help in recruiting from talking to the older kids parents. I'm sure it will become a big controversy as everything is on here but we are with jesters. The entire staff is extremely helpful and the recruiting director and coaches are working well together to support us. Sorry should have clarified my original post that you replied to asking about the team was the one that said recruiting director and coaches and listed what we’ve done so far. I also have friends on other teams who are also happy with the recruiting advice given so far. As a parent I need to know… Who’s the coach of this team?

NO ONE is doing the legwork for your kid to get recruited except YOU and your kid. Send your emails and film always Keep your coach and director in the loop Get that video up if not done already. I was saying they have given our team a hammerhead kit or hammerhead box like a set of things to use to help us.
That's awesome. And hopefully by the summer, the recruiting directors will be actively advocating on your girls behalf before the contact period. Our recruiting director has always said her busiest two weeks of the year and the two weeks before contact period. What club are you with Going to keep that to myself I apologize just don’t want the which clubs better to start up There are a few clubs that are doing this well. Our club has been doing all of this for a while and a few of her friends elsewhere seem to get the same. It’s hard work and not just on the field! This is our 3rd time doing this and it can seem overwhelming. Don’t be afraid to Ask questions but don’t stress. Plenty of opportunities to play and be seen. Yes ask questions as much as possible to coaches and directors

I have heard some 2024's have been contacted through their clubs recently. Nothing wrong with it, just seems early. I assume 2023 are still the priority, but the early bird gets the best 2024's. Have other people heard any of this?

December has several good camps and college clinics. The 2024's will be the center of attention for schools that are mostly done with their 2023's. Understand schools cast a large net, so contact is far from tops on their recruiting rankings.

She’s amazing and the best travel coach on Long Island She works so hard. She’s in charge of all the recruiting, practices, game strategy, runs the tailgate, and so much more. Not sure why 91 let her go but their loss and our gain. My 2024 is getting serious looks from high level D1 schools with help from her and she’s not even her best player.

Have other people heard any of this? 24 recruiting kicks into high gear next week with the UNC camp. Expect all the best 24s on the east coast to be there.

Despite negative comments following anything positive when you name coaches or clubs it does help parents with younger players navigate the club scene. I for one appreciate when you name positive things happening and I ignore 99% of the coach and program bashing since they’re usually a scorned o individual with something to gain by trying to destroy reputations of other clubs. I hope you post which club you’re with.

Our club hasn’t offered much help this year yet. Is it important to be heavily involved in recruiting already? If we haven’t started yet are we behind the curve?

UNC is obviously a big time school for lax but other camps have been happening all fall and will continue to happen in the winter, spring and summer. All Schools are still heavy on 2023. A few 2024 may have some contact with D2 and 3 but it’s slow moving. D1 can’t contact 2024 until next Sept 1. A school looking at your connectlax account does not mean you are being recruited.
