When CR changed the model to two blue teams, the idea was to have two strong teams to be able to compete. Much to the dismay of all the people who wanted to then call themselves true blue or real blue, the second team may be a better, more talented "team". You can put a bunch of very good individual players together and never get a good team out of it. You are delusional , and also ignorant. The design will be to have 1 top team , always has been always will be. Does it take awhile to sort things out , yes ,but believe me some of the better jones kids will be moved up and some of the lesser Curcio kids down.Do not fool yourself if your kid is on Jones she is considered to be on the second level team , not saying she deserves it maybe she had a bad tryout. By the reaction of both sides at that game I would say most of the jones parents know they beat a team that on most days they would not .Also to the moron saying some of Curcio better players never came out , other than their goalie please tell us which number kid. This is a jones parent who is tired of all the parents who constantly feel their child was shafted at the tryouts and that their little girl could not possibly have 24 kids in the age group that are better.

This Poem has gone viral in the youth baseball world. Food for thought folks, enjoy your kids time goes by to quickly. Just a Little BoyHe stands at the plate with his heart pounding fast. The bases are loaded, the die has been cast. Mom and Dad cannot help him; he stands all alone. A hit at this moment would send his team home. The ball meets the plate; he swings and he misses. There's a groan from the crowd, with some boos and hisses. A thoughtless voice cries, "Strike out the bum!" Tears fill his eyes; the game's no longer fun. Remember - he's just a boy who stands all alone. The website has Heroes beating Carro 5-2 in the semi's, but hasn't posted what they claim is the finals between Heroes and Bert. Hats off to Bert bringing that team a long way. They are really playing a team game and it shows.

Suppose you had the following numbers for twenty eight teams entered into a tournament. Could you guess what "tournament" this might have been?
Club A = 15 Teams Club B = 5 Teams Club C = 4 Teams Club D = 2 Teams Club E = 1 Team Club F = 1 Team
Now, suppose I told you that this tournament took place in mid-June ... in Connecticut.
Still, need another hint?
These were the clubs : Yellow Jackets (A), Lax Plus (B), Yorktown (C), Noreaster (D), Brewster (E), and Team Superstar (F).
Advertised for 60 teams, only 13 teams applied! Another <<tournament name deleted>> Yellow Jacket success story.

Who cares tourney was a great day of lax and kids learned alot in a non competitive showcase environment!! Who cares that one club entered more than another. It's just kids playing the game they love for a nice day of lax.
YJ Has proved themselves this summer as a club loaded with many talented teams. What other program as a whole has this kind of success? The bashing of them on this site that their teams would not do well this summer was obviously a huge mistake. YJ looks great and College coaches where lining the sidelines for them all weekend!! This may be one of their most successful summers ever even amongst all the trash talking they have prevailed. Keep working hard!! Proud to be a YJ
Good luck to all

The point seemed clear to me. Here's the truth(s). Yes, the Yellow Jackets have continued to prove their fine team quality this summer. The problem is that most teams have just grown tired of the manipulations, the manufactured brackets, and the arrogant attitude. The Top Guns (Lacrosse by 3) put on a tournament and draw teams from across the island in their first event. The Yellow Jackets put on a tournament and draw 13 paying customers from five clubs. Seems to be a fairly obvious point to me. You want to know why they have five teams in the younger age groups? That makes up for the revenue missing on their tournament line item. The top line revenue is the same - only the distribution is different. The newbie parents are picking up the load. Have to keep the revenue numbers strong when trying to sell the club, right? Unfortunately, Connecticut is not as fertile as expected.

Bottom line it's all a business been down this road three times. Everything's a business. If you think your going to get your a kid a full ride to college by playing lax and being a yellow jacket then your sadly mistaken. Take that money you spend each year put it away to pay your college tuition bills. Unless your on CR "Dream Teams" top blue she will not make a phone call or email on your child's behalf unless you pay more $$ for her recruiting service. Then you have the coach at your other levels lets be real they all have favorites and are not equally helpful with every child when it comes to recruitment. I personally have worn this hat twice with YJ and refused to do it with my third. It's funny how a coach will pull strings or make phone calls for one child but when it comes to a child who is equally or even more talented because they didn't pay the $$ for recruitment the coach doesn't go out of their way. If your daughter is young spend your $$ on camps and training no matter what club you go to its about the $$ I know kids who didn't play YJ or TG for that matter and were very successful in their college playing careers...it's like everything else in this world the rich keep getting richer...and we the saps keep giving it to them!!

Your lacrosse by three tournament is a joke, the competition at that tournament is horrible with the two best long island clubs sending 0 teams. As far as having 5 teams in an age group you really need to get a reality check in that YJ proved more than just their top teams are competitive , in most cases YJ second team performed better than TG 1. Your top level teams have never won a competitive game and forget about your second level teams.Again what are the TG kids getting for their money, terrible pinnies, terrible coaching even if they show, zero off season training, zero tournament championships, the best coach cannot be involved due to time constraints and the 50 mile rule. Get off the sinking ship while you can, go join YJ I am sure they will make room for your players on team 6.

As the original poster, I can guarantee you that I am not a Top Guns parent and have not even had a player go through that organization. Your response tried to turn the obvious "voting with dollars" taking place at the tournament level into some Yellow Jackets vs. Top Guns team-by-team comparison which was not the point of my post at all. So let's try this again. The Yellow Jackets run a tournament. It used to be well attended and now no one hears a word about it. In total, 13 teams attend that were not Yellow Jackets programs. Those 13 teams are from a total of five, yes five, clubs. The Lacrosse-By-3 folks run a tournament. It attracts three dozen outside applications in multiple age groups from more than a dozen clubs around the region. Bottom line is that Lacrosse-By-3 is getting the word out and people are listening. Not only do the Yellow Jackets expect people to just "know" about their events (explaining why you never see their tournaments) but then get mad in posts like yours when the franchise is called out for only attracting two men and a dog to their events.

The lacrosse by three tournament you are touting is a joke with no competitive teams,I would rather play competitive games against other YJ teams than play in a non-competitive tournament that you will be doing. If you are a TG player in the younger age groups look into other options before its too late and your kid misses out on some great opportunities.

If you did you would not be talking. The youngest age has 2 teams. One with great coaching and real learning going on. the other; coaches that are worse than the parent that coaches that barely show up and do give a hoot and NO learning going on. Does this sound familiar? Yes, its the way it is all throughout, if your not on the top team, no one cares!

Seriously ,after your showing at National draw you would think you would stay away. Are you that dumb that you don't even know the YJ tourney has not even taken place yet!!! How do you even know who is coming. Your trash talking BS is false once again. Get your facts straight.

The poster was talking about the tournament that was held in Connecticut - we checked on the numbers and found them to be 100% accurate. Now, if you read the material in this thread, you will see that the poster clearly identified this as their Connecticut tournament. Would you now like BOTC to quote you as being "that dumb" that you are talking about the wrong tournament? As for the Long Island tournament to which you are referring, BOTC has no additional insight at all.

As a yellowjacket parent the CT tourney is a total waste of time - on fathers day no less. Can you at least make it on a beach or in Atlantic City so the whole family can have fun? Just a thought! maybe then they can attract more teams. driving so far to play the same club is ridiculous - all the other parents feel the sam but i guess everyone to scared to say no to the great CR

Clearly confusing the well attended Mitchell field tourney with the CT tourney!! CT was always a small tourney in that area. It's very misleading to say the least

Clearly confusing the well attended Mitchell field tourney with the CT tourney!! CT was always a small tourney in that area. It's very misleading to say the least Apparently, clicking on the link in the post was simply too difficult for this poster. So, we will replay it for you.
Now, let's try reading the post. See where is says mid-June? See where it says Connecticut? Have we moved too quickly for you? Next, do you see where BOTC removed the name of this tournament to try and protect the Yellow Jackets brand? However, the Yellow Jackets loyalists cannot seem to let well-enough alone despite our best attempts to protect the program. Does the whole world need to warned off this tournament in the future?

She is a disgusting piece of work that should not be mentoring kids, no less a teacher, but I guess tenure allows her be that way. Quite the role model aren't you, Carol Rose? I would like to note that my distaste for Carol Rose is due her failed attempt to bully CageSage and me. I've been wondering if she can take it as well as give it? I trust my few posts on this site with regards to Carol Rose will make it clear that it is more blessed to give than to receive and I am happy to giveth. I'm Larry Miller and I approve this message

Give it up you are so jealous of what Coach Rose has accomplished and you have not. These girls ( yes on the top teams) are being recruited like crazy. I am so glad that my daughter decided to concentrate on lax instead of soccer. Move on boys your ranting will not take down Rose or her club. Maybe you guys should come to a tournament and see the college coaches falling over each other to see the YJ play and to talk to Rose.

I do not understand ,would you rather have the kids that make the 5th team not play at all.Why do you care that these kids have somewhere to play and access to year round training if they choose to take advantage of it.My kid started on team 3 and yes now plays on what is considered YJ top team I am glad she did not take your advice and stop playing club ball.

The talent pool is so deep with the younger teams, in a few years the college coaches will be looking at the top 3 teams. Wait until the TG club folds and all of those kids need a place to play. CR will have to add a few more teams to each age group to support them. Then you’re talking more Money money money. Give credit where credit is due, she is a smart business woman.

I have to say was at Lax For A Cure this past weekend and the top team is basically done with recruitment...I watched the coaches one by one approach the coach of the gold (3rd team). Asking for girls, even during the game coach was seen on sidelines talking with coaches looking for YJ. If you play for any of the top clubs whether its YJ, TG, M&D...these coaches really that there is dedication and if they are good college coaches they will take a 3rd team dedicated player and make her a great player

What are you talking about? The club brings in a million dollars a year. Chump change compared to yj which is more than double in size, I'm sure they will be dipping in to the young age groups just like yj soon enough. All these clubs, boys and girls are just a money making scheme. The return on money spent by all players and money won back on scholarships is 10 to one. Both TG and YJ are highly profitable machines, I don't think you should worry about either of them folding anytime soon.

My daughter plays on the 2014 4th team and was approached by 3 College Coaches this weekend. All three saw her play fall ball, contacted, stayed in touch through the year and came to Lax Cure to see her again. All three offered her a spot on their teams. My daughter is NOT a top D1 prospect, no interest to go to a large university... But she WILL be playing lax in college at a college of her choosing, and attaining an excellent education. Isn't this what it is all about? We think so....
