The lack of rescheduling this past weekend in MD was a joke. Half of the '25 teams only got 2 games while the other half got 4. Scheduling certainly could've been altered for Sunday providing each team with 3 games total and then one playoff game. Same amount of total games, just more work for the organizers. Organizers are person if they do not provide a 50% refund to the teams that only got two games but were guaranteed 4. Not a credit, a refund directly to those 15 or so teams that incurred travel, lodging and registration expenses but did not get what was stated. Please advise. LOL, who on BOTC would you like a response from? Problem is, there's that small print at the bottom of all the waivers teams/players/parents all signed that almost definitely says, "no refunds for cancellations due to weather." stinks for sure, but it's not the first time and it won't be the last.

I’ll say it. The UA tryouts we’re pretty disorganized. Before last years waste of time there were 20 local HS, College coaches/players doing the evaluations. You got a mix of local talent from all towns and clubs. Yesterday we had just the club coaches coaching the command/highlight teams, some local club coaches and JS. At least JS actually watched the games, but several games were played with no evaluators on the sidelines? What did they debate during their assessment period? This was not as bad as the American Select or NY regional tryouts but pretty bad. The only thing these event organizers do well is take our money. Great concepts with big name sponsors just run poorly by the revolving door of club directors putting their own stamp on someone else’s “tryout”.
Should be interesting to see what happens with Rosters because so many girls here already were rostered and paid their $600 for the AS event that happens on the same days.

So many kids already paid for AS, but tried out for UA and willing lose that money if they make it? Seems a little desperate. If you believe what’s written on here UA was such a joke, yet record number of kids showed up to try out. Seems like UA is still the place to be.

If my daughter makes UA, we will likely still do AS. It's just another opportunity to see how you stand up o the best competition. I think AS will be a better event, because looking at the rosters, I see many of the top girls from other regions on there.

UA/Nike should hire a woman’s director of Lax or work with the IWLCA and layout a process to select the best girls from each region and have them play, not rotate a bunch of $$$ motivated biased club directors in to coach it who can’t pick the best girls bc they have to pick their girls to validate their club fees and so they can say they developed her. When a HS all American doesn’t make the call back game…. It Highlights the problem…

100% if long island wants to WIN the event then why not pick the BEST players. how can a legit duke commit who was an AA this year not make callback after being on the team the past 3 years??? but still the talent on UA is much better than AS

We didn’t do AS after being stunk into 91s Warrior AA games a few years back. We decided to wait-and-see.
UA was a bit disorganized at first but I thought got it together pretty quick after the first 20 minutes. We’re not Jesters but the evaluations seemed fair because they didn’t know any of the other girls - and there was a lot of girls. I’m sure some got missed and that’s the shame of a tryout but overall the callback game was loaded with talent. Good luck to all the girls.

Like it or not she will likely be the face of the 22 Suffolk Senior class replacing the BBP player who just graduated. The only up and down is the repetitive over exaggerated unnecessary head / shoulder fakes of the player likely to take her spot. Best of luck to those that make it.

Get rid of the club directors and club coach’s as evaluators. UA/Nike should have a much better evaluation process for their tryouts

The talent at BBP now starts with the '23s and that's what you'll hear about next season. This is the 2025 thread and all the top 2025 talent from BBP was at UA.

Yes I believe the American select will be the new top dog! I don’t know how other regions are running under armor but Long Island lost all credibility last year with bs evaluations/selections. American Select allowed the Florida Select 2022 team to represent the Florida region at that age group. Not a single other player made the team. American Select has all the same problems as the UA event. Some, like this one, are glaringly worse. Almost the same thing happened with the North Carolina 2024 team. Large number of players from the "host club" that is clearly 2nd tier.

If AS is still around in 3 years, and the other regions actually win a few championships to show some legitimacy, it will be worth considering. UA is flawed but when you look at the AS roster it is still just as flawed and for the same reasons. Club affiliations, friends, and family.

You show up- have girls throw and catch, do some drills, play some games and hopefully have “independent” evaluators rate those in attendance and pick a team for the respective region. Drive 10min or 10 hours. Makes no difference. What am I missing
