Wow. These are middle schoolers, and they are out on the field in 90 degree heat playing with their buddies. What kind of person would say things like this about a bunch of kids? Get a life man. Really.
Thanks for your insight Mr. Snowflake.

Looneys peaked last year. Slow downward ride from here.
As evidenced by play, this program will take anyone willing to pay the fees. Offense is pathetic Wow. Agree. Until your dad Meanyis out in 90º heat, why don’t you shut it. JFC.

It appears Looneys needs to start doing hold backs. Only way to succeed Crabs, Team91 and others are doing it this coming season. It is prevalent the year before high school. I am not pro or anti holdbacks but let’s all remember how it worked for Todd Maranovich in football. Be very cautious

Say it ain’t so Hawksnation? 2 losses in 2 days? Loss 1 with your holdback team. Loss 2 with your on age team. Dads gonna have to take the #1 gold pin off their Crocs. Hawkward

How does group play at WSYL work? Top two teams advance out of each group into single elimination?

Those teams have plenty of 13U players playing in 14U World Series because they didn’t bench their older kids. Some 2026 teams decided to play their 13U kids up with the 14U / 2025s to let them all play together, win or lose. Other teams decided they would bench their older kids and not let them play with their teammates. Some even created entirely new teams just to get enough 13U kids on a team. In any case, not all teams are pounding their chests about winning the WS before it even starts. They just want their kids to have fun and enjoy the experience of this special event. Yes, it’s more fun to win, but it’s also fun just to be there with your teammates. All of them. Its about the competition and the W. D1 is not in your sons your future with that attitude.

Another Hawks loss - maybe scheduling Naptown the week of WSYL wasn't a good idea! I hope all MD teams do well and make it to the championship game.

Why does the little goalie never see the field in the games they lose?
He is really good and makes good saves, just not LOUD like the other big goalie.

The Hawks are hardworking kids. On the other hand, the Hawks parents who come on here talking nonsense garbage hopefully learned something. There are a lot of good teams out there and if you're gonna dish it out you're gonna have to learn to take it. Good luck to the Hawks kids in the consolation game.

Hawks played a season’s worth of games in 5 days. They went 9-3 and lost to a 25/26 Mad dog team in OT, a better than expected Stealth all star team on a late goal and an OT loss against the black ops all star teams. All legit Ls but great games that could have gone either way if you saw them. Enjoy the holiday weekend, see everyone at NLF.

Hawks parents will be crying about this for weeks. Wait till next week when their older kids are allowed to join the team they will blame it on the team playing too many games leading up to it and the kids were tired.

Was not at wsyl and not a Hawks fan. This being said the Hawks hating on this board has reached a new level. They lost in a great game if the final was 6 5 as reported. I believe Black Ops is a team made up of all the best kids from hoco who play on teams other then Hawks, Madlax and True. That means the best hand selected kids from VLC, Bethesda, Loonies, Crabs, FCA and 91 came together as an all-star team and beat a team that plays together year round. Kudos to Ops for the win, but no way does the loss dilute the excellence of the Hawks team that represents our area well whenever they take the field.

The reason why you are taking so much heat is because you have been relying on your holdbacks for years to win while claiming you were all on age and now we all know the truth. Deal with it.

It requires an exceptional level of smallness to detest on a youth lacrosse team like people detest on the Hawks. A parent or two crows on here and the response is to belittle and laugh at kids for losing against great teams. Laugh at the parents, but to target kids is pathetic.

Without their holdbacks, they are still a good team but nothing special. Hopefully the parents and players will be more humble and more classy going forward.

I know it’s been said many times on this board, but I’ll say it again. These are just kids and playing a game they all love. The expectations that are put on them are ridiculous for their age and for that I blame the parents. Congrats to all the boys who worked hard and qualified for the WSYL. No matter what they should all be proud of their accomplishments and I wish them all nothing but the best in the future.
