hats off to YJ Janelli - Playing and beating both Hero's and M&D in the playoffs is a big accomplishment. I guess you play the style to win the game, but holding the ball and killing the clock is a boring style of lacrosse. Let the girls play!! Really? You don’t think Hero’s and M&D would hold the ball if winning? Really??? It’s a strategy Not taking anything away from YJ for winning, but winning these shortened games doesn't prove much. Please stop, when M&D or Heroes beat YJ you are not saying that.......it is what it is, YJ has 2 LEGIT teams at this age. Congrats to the B team! M&D lost 2-1. In a full game, they'd beat Janelli 9 out of 10, if not 10 out of 10. M&D knows how to adjust. Janelli will most likely be in the B brackets the rest of the way so unfortunately we'll never really know.

All this really shows is that YJ depth is way deeper than Heroes and M&D programs.....2025 YJ best program in this age group

Don’t think Janelli played in the A bracket with Heros/MND/Ct Grizzlies/Primetime. Based on their scores it seemed they had a cake walk in pool play.

There were 0 Spallina players on that team. Same girls as last year. dont believe that was the same team that was down here pre corona they werent disciplined or even that talented back then not saying they were borrowed a players but something changed The 2025 Team 91 girls team imploded pre-pandemic. It appears enough of the top players from that very talented team jumped to YJ and were added to the Janelli to have tipped the scales significantly, even between the YJ 2025 teams. This team started turning heads and did very well in the 2020 LI fall league.

Seriously......the Spallina team is better than Janelli team by a mile. With that being said, the Janelli team has certainly improved.

What the YJ parents don't get or won't admit is that LI and MD are just two different situations. YJ is THE TEAM on LI and they get almost every top player because everyone wants to put that Bee sticker on their car. If all the top players from M&D, Heros, and Skywalkers combined into one team they would roll any team they played. YJ has no real competition on LI which is why they don't even bother playing anyone from home and why there is no spring league in MS.

We also don't play 7th/8th graders in high school. Which is huge in the maturation process. So give the 25s a year in high school and things will change.

And Spallina would never do it himself... wait... Get a grip and jump off of your high horse.

Shouldn’t many of them have already been in HS a year or two!? Lol

M&D tryouts in 2 weeks. Any girls going to jump ship? MND screwed all the other clubs by having their tryouts the week before anyone else. I expect turnout to be pretty good.. Has Skywalkers had their private tryout yet? or is the Skywalkers camp this week the private tryout? I know Hero's has already started to have girls come to practice and tryout. Can't imagine being an existing player and knowing they are having girls coming for your spot.

Wasn't it HOCO last week that was going to have girls jump ship? Now it's M&D girls jumping ship? oh wait, Skywalkers is running private tryouts so those existing players must be ready to jump ship knowing new girls are coming for their spots? Trying to keep up with all the girls jumping ship....

Palace intrigue? Last bite of the apple for this age. Why not go for it? NEMS, Hoco, and Md united etc. should get into the mix. Poach back! Steal backup goalie, attack, midfield, and defense it is unseemly but the tryouts are so rigged timing wise that you almost have to play the game. This is the clubs doing make no mistake. I find the players and families not at fault for moving. Fastest way to improve is to bring in more talent. Best opportunity for most players would be not on the big 3 clubs in Maryland. Would you rather be the 5th attacker on Hero's or starter on Hoco? 5th defender on Skywalkers or starter on NEMS? Does the cache of saying you play for Hero's or Skywalkers outweigh the meaningful minutes on a "lesser" club?

Yes, Playing in the top pools at recruiting showcases, and getting in front of all of the coaches, or playing in pool L, on field 60.

You need to be an impact player on whatever team not bench warmer or hidden at low attack. But if your team is going to Beach Blast it is time to move lol.

Wow, Aces Elite had a nice weekend. Lost to Hero's but beat LI Top guns, Md United, Hero's White. Went on to semis to beat M&D black and beat Skywalkers Blue in finals by 1. All teams continue to improve.

Congrats to Aces Elite! Or should I say congrats to the refs for helping Aces! Did they score a goal that wasn’t assisted by a ref call? I believe all their goals in the playoffs were from the 8m. Ridiculous.

Did not see that particular game but can agree the refs were terrible at the tournament. Seems like a recurring thing this summer. It would be nice if the refs actually understood the lacrosse game.

Pushes or in the sphere when attacking the goal being called a FPS when it should be a flag/ play on and refs saying learn the rules. Classic.

Any word on why M&D is not at G8 next week? Looks like they are at a terrible tourney with none of the top teams. Missing a big recruiting event for the 22/23s.
