Will this new 2026 coach , KL make this team better? They are supposed to have a red team this year do they even have that many girls trying out? I would think a more established name would make people bring their kids to tryouts... if the team is to get better they need some new players. KL is an established name. And the fact the MG is her assistant makes it even better. Not many club teams can offer you two HS Varsity coaches. I'm pretty certain their will be new girls at tryouts this summer.

Was the M&D Red coach previously coaching a 26 team? If so that would/may be a bunch of new players.
Not sure why you would pay M&D rates to play B, but that's a different issue.

Not sure why you would pay M&D rates to play B, but that's a different issue. No a college asst and recycled coach. M&D rates are same as other clubs except Hoco. Will have own practice facility and other quality resources other clubs do not have. Plus their red teams choose to play the top levels some. Lots of clubs ‘A’ teams play lower levels. Hoco , Md United all play middle tiers in summer with them.

Has the old 2026 Black coach resigned? Will he finish out the season? When he was told that he was being replaced next year he quit. MG is coaching the team for the summer.

He did the club a favor when we didn’t have anyone else. Would the results really be any different this spring?

Not ideal but it has to work for both going forward. IP and the team will both be fine.

This year at tryout will be interesting as new and talented players come and move long standing black players off the team. To the parents. You get what you asked for ! Hope your kid isn’t one that gets replaced.

It will be a garbage-shoot. Parents are going to come because of Mary G. Don’t be fooled. She is a technical coach and just won IAAM. She will attract the talent. Once it happens, teams will balance and that Heros Green won’t be rolling teams.

You people really have no clue. Take it from someone who is done with girl’s club lacrosse, you will save yourself a lot of headaches and frustration and broken friendships if you just go enjoy watching your daughter play and ignore the rest of the noise. Your daughter will enjoy her experience a lot more as well.

Where will the white team get players from to replace this dead weight. People are always looking for spots on b teams.

Mary G. will pluck players from Heros Green and White. The hostility in Heros and culture created and tolerated by Tierney will ultimately be the demise of that team. It doesn’t matter they have a few talented players. As the girls get older, talent levels off with individual players and team play is what will win games, not single players. Too many crazy parents and Tierney allows the nonsense. Mary G. has a great reputation and players will jump. It doesn’t matter that Cathy Reese’s daughter is on 26 Green. People know that not very kid is going to Maryland and will rather be happy and in a positive environment.

You know some of you are going to have daughters who come to you in high school and tell you that they are quitting lacrosse because they detest it, have a boyfriend, found something they enjoy doing more so you might want to enjoy just watching them play the game now because it is fun.

The very reason they are being so successful is because they play like a team. Watch them and you will see. They are a cohesive unit and the kids and parents all like each other.

Heros parent here. Not sure what anyone is talking about regarding a hostile environment in Heros. Girls seem to like their teammates and get along with the other Heros team. Some are very close friends and go to school together. Do they compete? Yes. Game are tight and it’s great competition. Both teams seem to be the tops in their age group which is pretty cool. Have not seem and drama or ever heard parents bad mouth any girls on the other team. This is all fake news. But I’m sure MG will come in and make everything better for M&D. She definitely will miss her daughters games in college to coach a 2026 team on the weekends. 🙄

MG isn't enough to draw them from a winning program to a dysfunctional team that has been that way for YEARS. Bad juju is still there. Read the threads of the crazy m&d moms disguised as anonymous. Let's be real here, unless MG can get someone to stop us from scoring, there is no chance. It's been obvious in every game we play M&D this past year and it's not looking like it will change. The only positive for M&D is they can still keep games close but can't win. We've got the best team, the second best team and the best goalies. Hero's is where it is at. Hostility? Demise? Please. #1 and #2 teams in the country. Hero's. Don't let your kids read this because they will want to quit lacrosse when they hear the truth.

My daughter is a rising HS senior and has played since kindergarten. This couldn’t be more true. She is committed and very excited to play in college but there were definitely quite a few times she wanted a break and wanted to check out other interests - even in high school after playing at a top high school and on various showcase teams like UA. She always came back around on her own but quite a few of her friends never did. And quite a few are still college committed but absolutely detest the sport now but feel pressured to follow thru until the end. Burn out is REAL and happens to the most committed and passionate of them. Parents need to savor every season and stop the undue pressure they deliberately or subliminally put on their child. [quote=Anonymous]You know some of you are going to have daughters who come to you in high school and tell you that they are quitting lacrosse because they detest it, have a boyfriend, found something they enjoy doing more so you might want to enjoy just watching them play the game now because it is fun.[/quote.
