Severna park has a good record undefeated. Blowing out everyone. All the talent in the county goes to private schools now. SP probably has the best FOGO in the State including the MIAA and DC Area Schools. They have an MIAA caliber keeper as well. Not enough depth among their field players to get past the top 4-6 in the A Conference. Hurt by playing weak teams. Doesn't make you better. SP might compete with John Carroll or MSJ. They wouldn't touch the other A conference schools. They are a top 5 public and probably a favorite to win another state championship. In 4A, it is Urbana, Severna Park, Richard Montgomery, Catonsville and Sherwood in that order.

Even those bottom MIAA teams gave a number of the top MIAA teams games this year. The bottom MIAA teams have a solid 14-15 kids- well more than the public. They just don't have the depth of the top 4-5. Against even the best publics, the MIAA teams would roll.

“Sorry your kid didn’t get recruited by Spalding” I see this response by many of their fans.
I have to ask. How does it feel to be recruited to Spalding? Only to have your coaches recruiting players from other high schools because they now know you aren’t good enough?
Spalding coaches didn’t wait long after losing to start contacting other HS rising juniors and seniors. Pretty pathetic to offer full tuition to bump your kid off the field. Are the coaches really that good if they can’t coach up what they have? The bench looked full of players.
Your boys better continue to hit the wall or they will continue to sit on the bench, if they get all the players they have already contacted. Must be reaching out to public school kids. Can’t transfer from one miaa school to other without sitting out a year Supposed rule. But never enforced. Can cite multiple examples. If a kid is willing to transfer, good luck. Covid year into account they will be able to play.

Can’t transfer from one miaa school to other without sitting out a year depends on the reason for the transfer. Two good 2020 attackmen transferred to St. Paul going into their Junior year. A player from Calvert Hall and Gerstel. The Gerstel player was allowed to play his junior year, the Calvert Hall kids had to sit. I think the kid from Gerstel may have changed his home residence, and was granted a waiver to play his junior year.

Coach Broc would definitely have his boys ready to kill SP if they could schedule that game.

Seems like there are a ton of kids who transfer in and out of GCS that are connected with lax. Their last coach had a new roster almost every year.

With a new incoming head of school and a new athletic director, the program is hoping for positive change moving forward.

From the MIAA Transfer Guidelines: A transfer student is one who changes enrollment from one school to another. Participation, in regards to any transfer policy, is defined as practicing or scrimmaging during the regular season, beginning with the 1st practice date or playing in any interscholastic competition. Please read the transfer policy guidelines below. If you have any questions, please call the league office at 410-544-XXXX A transfer student who changes schools during the school year and has participated in interscholastic athletics at any level at his former school is ineligible to participate in interscholastic activities for the remainder of that school year. Additionally, that student, if he or she was a varsity athlete at their previous school, is ineligible for participation in that (those) sport(s) for one calendar year from the date of enrollment. A student athlete who is by definition a varsity athlete at a member school may not become eligible to participate at another member school in the next academic year by enrolling in a non-member school for a period of less that one full academic year. Further, a students’ eligibility to participate is based on his/her participation for the prior year only. A student who plays on a varsity team during one year and does not participate in the year prior to transfer, will be eligible to play provided all other transfer criteria are met. Please refer to the definition of a “varsity athlete” which is addressed later in this form. A transfer student who migrates from one member school to another and was a varsity athlete at his / her previous school is ineligible to participate in that sport at the new school for one calendar year beginning with the first date of enrollment at the new school. If that student was an undersquad athlete (freshman or junior varsity) a his previous school, he /she may transfer without penalty unless transferring under stipulations in paragraph I. Given the statement that eligibility is based on prior year participation only it sounds like the GCS kids who transferred should not have been allowed to play since most of them were varsity athletes in the prior year?

Can we stop pretending like the MIAA A league goes by the rules as written. Transfers, age, Boarders and recruiting are ignored constantly. BL will have boarders soon, it sure isnt for locals if they can bring in out of town talent. LOL It isnt like any coach wants to turn in another coach, his turn may be the following year.

While the MIAA has turned a blind eye to certain over age kids, one being a freshman at UNC this year, they have always been pretty strict on their transfer rules. There are waivers if you move more than a certain miles(I believe it's 25 or 50). And if you didn't play Varsity at the previous school you don't have to sit. I know of several kids that played Club for a year because of the transfer rules.

The freshmen you speak of made Team USA U19 team, you know meaning he is U19...but I'm sure USA Lacrosse overlooked it to, no way Canada would care if the kid was 20...

LOL that FOGO had 2 games against Loyola and CH; maybe JC but it's JC. He got smoked against McD, Gilman, and BL, and Severn; he's not even in the top 10 in the MIAA. Hilarious. Watch the BL game......BL, Severn, and Spalding all have top-tier D1 FOGOs. SP is young and it will take a few years before they can compete against the better A teams

Really funny and how critical and nasty some of you are but only to certain kids. Rip had a great season but struggled in the last game. There wasn’t another game all year he didn’t produce and while not big numbers in this game he at least had some. Yes I understand because TR is involved he gets higher criticism. Truth is people have been waiting for Spald to fail so they could all pick apart. Kids did something great making it to the end.
One can only wonder if Petro would of received the same criticism if they lost with dad coaching . Scoreless yes scoreless in two of the teams final three games in playoffs yet after those performances it gets tucked away. Thankfully my son is a senior and could not of asked for a better ending but the politics with BL is in another dimension DP scoreless against Loy. 4 goals vs McD all assisted by teammates meanwhile BS had 2,4 clearly best player. Then DP went invisible in Final with another scoreless performance Not much difference other than result of team People that do not like TM direct it at him not his son Clearly you have no idea. Clearly he was being sealed but was also the decoy. They wouldn’t slide off of him so he was content to let his teammates win the game. Unselfish Top players aren’t decoys he got shut down 0,0 in two of three playoff games Biggest game of the year petro had no points none by not a top defensemen in his own class This is true DP is good not great gets hyped because name Realistically top 15 in class not top 5. Team won tho

2022 season:
Calvert Hall- wont be touched if attackman back and healthy. St. Mary's- do most with least, best school in AACO BL- Lefty attackman good for 6 McD- always good Loyola- wheels are shaky but enough pieces there to make it interesting St.Pauls- youth movement

Even if he is number 1 still doesn't change the fact that every single MIAA starting goalie is better. Every one. I don;t know what grade your son is but I think all the MIAA A goalies return next year so he better hit the wall or he will be worse than all of them again

Think the SP Goalie's dad posted this? Ha! Is he a delusional guy? Decent goalie but I saw all the MIAA "A" goalies this year and saw the SP kid play last summer and fall. Can't start at an MIAA school, even JC and MSJ. Maybe he meant B or C or D conference. Ok... Who are the top 5 goalies in his age group???? Don't know Pop. Even if he is number 1 still doesn't change the fact that every single MIAA starting goalie is better. Every one. I don;t know what grade your son is but I think all the MIAA A goalies return next year so he better hit the wall or he will be worse than all of them again Looks like your goalie son better watch out, Someone is coming for his spot. Was wondering why you are so out there about this. Now we know.

SP is young and it will take a few years before they can compete against the better A teams Easy to say the kid is the best, when he didn’t play the best, back to back to back like these MIAA kids do. The league was VERY strong with fogos this year. Thought AS, BL and CH were very solid. Class of the league. STM has a young kid who had some awesome games too- primed to break out, I think. JC had a decent fogo too. He dominated the McD kid, who wasn’t bad either. No pushovers in the league.

Team won tho Agree very good player not top 5

If anyone watched any games this year you would no the freshman for Severn was the best. . . Teams had to change FOGOS, long pole him, threw the kitchen sink at him. Including all those listed above. just look at the stats.
