1000% spot on 25 years old !!! Its hard to like this sport anymore.... Did you even read the article? One kid has had his college career wrecked by injury, one kid is playing on his 5th year, and one kid is a great person. Get over yourself. Nobody is blaming the "kids" young men but there is a level of absurdity to be a 5th year player and be 23 or older. I realize there are unique circumstances such as some players trying junior hockey and then deciding to go back to college but this is the exception.

A 25 year old still has no business playing college sports. Normal kids graduate at 22. I think this is beyond ridiculous and embarrassing. NCAA should have never granted an extra year. Where does it end? Should be like HS. You get 4 years period. Sometimes circumstances arise that are unfortunate, but that’s life!

He's getting outplayed by a freshman. Or 5th year ND Fogo who was owned by another freshman?

There are a handful of freshman playing you have no clue what you are talking about , rosters are at 60 plus , half the kids stay home to watch the team play on the weekend . Oh did i mention that this does not end for 3 more years because of the transfer portal so if you say a statement make sure you know the facts. High school kids coming into college next year and the 2 following years are screwed as well . Remember the current freshman class did not ask for 60 plus kids on a roster they went to the school looking at what kids were leaving and now with the transfer portal they can take a 25 year old over the current commit coming in so it does not end . Kids just want an opportunity and they are clearly not getting it for the next 3 years ......

There is no way to defend this sport when someone says lacrosse is a "rich kids sport". Mom and Dad supporting a 25 year old playing lax. How much money do these families have? That may be the definition of white privilege.

Don’t forget that these 60 kid rosters are full of recruits who are on the team as squads , not starters. Sourced it straight from the horses. One coach told me that they recruited a girl just so her team would not have to play against her.

Go play D3, this problem doesn't exist there. your kid can still play lacrosse, get a great education, and be done in 4 years.

Not a fan of hold backs and I agree that the article highlighted a situation that should not be normalized.

Nobody got extra years to play more than the 25 year old college players. When they got held back and reclassified, those were their extra years to play. Now college gives them more time. Ridiculous. Moral of the story. Don’t do the right thing and play by the rules because your kid will never see the field.

CSH kids have very little interest in baseball, rarely go to private schools, and have a great HS coach. Their coach has had many opportunities to coach at a higher level with a bigger paycheck. He does a great job with a small pool of talent.

He does a great job with a small pool of talent. All that, plus they are really wealthy and have plenty of opportunities to have the best in private training. Of the schools listed every one of them except Massapequa and Farmingdale is a white-collar wealthy town.

If you are a Marine or soldier you are actually battling a 25-year-old on the "field" as well. Please, if you are 18 you are as much a man as a 25-year-old. Let that sink in for a lot longer than a minute.

There is no doubt wealthier districts / families have a distinct competitive advantage. A lot of money is spent on shooting, camps, agility, strength, private lessons that the majority of families simply can not allocate in their budgets. This is fact, but also life. No asterisk should be applied to any individual, parent or community that chooses to support that pursuit though.

Old fashion dedication and hard work and, in many cases, natural ability is still the best way towards success.

That's no different than a lot of "Top 25" D1 football programs. Some football schools don't leave their time zone for away games and rack up stats against inferior opponents. Same with hoops and other sports. At the local HS level.....you see it all the time when superstar attackman never leaves the game in blowouts to pad his stats. "Johnny got a hat trick!"

Qusetion for FOGO players/parents: I am assuming everyone will be playing with college rules. After watching college Lax, I am concerned especially with the officiating and the cheating I see. This rule change has destroyed the position and made it more about who can cheat and get away with it. So many kids going early and not being called. In the games I watch you can see kids going against each other twice in conference play with totally different outcomes. There are also Good fogos who play no competition like Lehigh and Hofstra who look like superstars where kids in the BIG ten who would probably be ahead are mostly tied except for Rutgers who stink at face offs. ACC is up and down as well, looking to see what happens Thursday with Duke /ND after the lopsided result last week. Think it will be different this time. It's vey hard to figure out. Any advice?
