You mean the team that couldn't beat True? okay, got it. Couldn’t beat True and didn’t beat True are two different things. Lots of kids and families made the trip and there was no need for them to stand on the sidelines all day. Coach did the right thing. Kids beat the Hawks and all the kids played. It was a good day all around.

Maybe a little less chest pounding would be appropriate in this situation.

YES an Upstate team will be the Champs..don't doubt me. While the MD and LI parents bicker back and forth like schoolgirls on here, Upstate parents are humble and flying under the radar and know what our boys will bring to the field. Buckle up

I can't wait to see the politics involved in the brackets at the qualifier. That will most likely determine who goes to the WSYL

It was a great game all around. Both teams should be proud of how they played. Hawks came out strong and took a 4-0 lead. Once Express scored their first goal, the momentum completely shifted and they out scored the Hawks 7-1 in the remainder of the game. Express kids kept their composure and came back. As I said, it was a great game against good competition and isn’t that what it is all about? Neither of these teams will win the world series Who you got then? Please don't say Tigers and their one man show!!! I would bet that the prior poster's dark horse team is Black Ops. They have a lot of talent and good coaching, so their parents are pretty excited. But they are a combined team with little practice, so doing most of their boasting anonymously. Anyhow that is my theory. A lot of talent with a team made up of VLC/BLC? LOL c'mon now; hilarious. The top players on those teams can play with anybody, even your revered Hawks. Plus I think they added kids from Looneys. But if it makes you feel good to laugh at seventh graders, keep up the LOL. So Black Ops is a team of kids from BLC, VLC, and Looneys? I'm not one of the parents who are in the know about these things. VLC, BLC, and Black Ops are all entered in the Kickoff Tournament this weekend. Which team are these kids going to play for on the weekend? Their club team or Black Ops? I would assume the BLC and VLC coaching staffs would be pissed if their top players decided to play on a different team the week before Hoco starts. Not trying to be snarky, really curious how people find time to balance two teams.

I think that the "not snarky, just curious" poster is maybe too focused on other families' schedules. Boys this age, especially elite level players, have a ton of options. There are travel, rec, school, and "special" teams such as WSYL up the wazoo, plus some do private coaching, and some play other sports, and most go to private schools with heavy academic workloads. But most families figure it out, and those who bite off too much, will live and learn. So don't waste too much time worrying about other families' scheduling conflicts.

They are playing as Black Ops on Saturday and VLC / BLC etc on Sunday in the same tournament correct. This isn't Brain surgery. Its just scheduling. Since Next Level is running this tournament, and Black Ops is formed specifically for the WSYL from NL, BLC and VLC players these games will meet one of the two tournaments that WSYL teams are required to play in before the WSYL tournament. So yes, scheduling, but for a specific purpose. This is why WSYL is a joke and all-star teams are able to get in.

Black Ops is a money grab. $1,300 to be on a team as long as you know people. Won’t advance thru qualifier unless they shore up the defense. How do you pay that for 1 tournament?

Lost to Long Island Express 6-3 and it was 5-3 with a minute to go and just like the Hawks last week we didn’t win a single face off. And yes LI played all their starters. First time the team has ever played together. Was nice to see Rage’s new lap dog there watching our game. I hope we play you at WsYL Hawks Daddy.

I am confused by the LI Express team. There were close to 35 players on the team including 3 goalies. Are they still trying to figure out who is on the WS team? Or are there age ineligible kids on the team and those on the sideline are actually the WS team?

VLC 26 and BO seem to be basically the same team with BO adding a few better players from the other clubs. BO/VLC playing almost the same opponents, same results and VLC showing slightly worse? Saw some of the VLC games today and not the BO games yesterday, but the scores seem to show that: same opponent, less talent, less result today from VLC. VLC only seemed to want to play the last 5 min of games, or just got goals in garbage time versus 2nd teamers.
