2025 DCE needs to cut some of the “loyalty players” from BLC that have no business on the team before they can get in the elite class.

Here’s the story with the 28’s in NY, and no they all don’t stink. 2028 is an extremely talented age group BUT all the best players are spread out between 6 or so teams. At some point you would imagine one team would draw them all, but most of the best travel kids play with their town teams friends on these 6 or so teams. Most teams didn’t make any moves this year due to coronavirus. so you would imagine whoever gets the best results this spring will get the biggest draw of talent. There is also 3-4 other teams that think that they are at the top.

Madlax is the top team and will remain so until someone actually beats them when it counts. Madlax has the best attack and close defense units in the division. FCA has best middies & FOGO. Hawks has best goalies. Next Level is solid. Crabs & True can hang with top teams and could easily make a run in playoffs. Tourneymachine results show a big drop off after that.
TIER 1: Madlax TIER 2: FCA-Hawks-NL TIER 3: Crabs-True TIER 4: BLC-Cavs-HLC-KP
Enjoy it while you can. The team with the most holdback's will start dominating in next few years. My prediction, Madlax, Crabs, Hawks and FCA as years go by. Rest get off them while you can. 5th grade lacrosse. Get an effing grip. This is where it starts, Your son will not be D1 material with that attitude

For Long Island the best kids are spread out amongst 91, Express, Igloo, Legacy, Mooselax, Rebels, Rush and Turtles, unless if there are some big moves or consolidations it is hard to imagine any of them will enter the highest tier. 2Way, Express North and Eclipse are also strong teams from CT.

Get on best team with best coaches now or watch as the D1 ship sails on by you. Frankly, 5th grade may be a year late for most. Each year after 3-4th grade your chance of a D1 trip is less and less.

Was there for my older son and heard from the 28 parents it was not a good showing for the Ny/Nj teams at the 28 level. Saw few of the hawks games and it was not very close. The ny parents were clear that these teams have not practiced much and many did not make the trip. it showed. They have some good talented and athletic kids but did not do the fundamentals very well, not their fault. BBL was the best of the bunch, very physical. LI express had some very good players but turned the ball over and could not get anything started. NJ express got frustrated early and could get possessions.

Great attitudes dads! Just make it fun or they will all quit and become skateboarders. Seriously though, the good coaches know what an actual athlete looks like and the holdback game doesn’t seem to count for much when they get to high school.

Same thing happened/is happening in Maryland, I think Cutters (which was a solid team) got absorbed into Hawks, FCA got a bunch of Hoco Pink guys (also a good team), and Next Level and MadLax got some Bethesda players. Nature of the beast I guess. I can't believe all these NY families are shuttling back and forth to DE/MD for like four weeks in a row, sounds like a giant PITA. Good luck to all this weekend.

Looks like some interesting games this weekend.
Next level vs. FCA Madlax v. Hawks
And a few typically good NY/NJ teams - LI Express, Mad Dog, and Leading Edge - taking on various local teams. Should be interesting.
Anyone know the final allocation on AAA for 2028? Seems like the following is the most likely based on past results and club division preferences, but I guess we’ll know for sure next week.
Madlax Next Level FCA Hawks Crabs True Annapolis Cavs BLC

Madlax Next Level FCA Hawks Crabs True Annapolis Cavs BLC 2028 will have an Elite division. All of those teams will be in it. There will also be AAA, AA, A divisions. A is the new B.

That will probably be the 8 for elite and it’s a balanced group with a lot of talent. HoCo pink and green hornets were in elite and their players have dispersed. Outside shot for true kp at elite but only if a team like BLC wants to go to AAA. For AAA, cannons, sidewinders, HLC, FLC, Swarm (perry hall), Forrest hill, one of the true teams and maybe Madlax dmv or hawks black. After that it is anybody’s guess since most of the teams will be newly formed since they missed a year due to covid.

There could be a little more movement. Hoco Pink FCA White Cannons Eastside HLC Blue Claws Team 91 Forest Hill Select Sidewinders

Would be Interesting if none of the True teams play AAA. True Annapolis Green will be in Elite. The rest of the True teams (Baltimore and Annapolis B) are in AA or A I think. None in AAA. There is no B division anymore.

Saw the Thaw this weekend but only 3 teams, not sure if there are more. Hawks and Madlax were pretty close, NXT struggled. Talked to one of the NXT parents, they said they had only practiced a few times and only 1x per week.

Based on this weekend, I think it is clear that the top five teams are all pretty close - Next Level, FCA, Madlax, Hawks, and Crabs. And then there is a wide gulf between those five and everyone else.

Most can beat each other on any given day. Going to be an awesome spring season.

The records in play among the top 6 teams I could find on tourney machine in the fall and spring of this year:
Next Level - 6-1. Wins - FCA (by 5 and 1), Crabs (6 and 1), Madlax (by 4), Hawks (by 2). Loss FCA by 2.
Hawks 1-1. Win over Madlax by 2. Loss to NL by 2.
FCA 1-2. Two losses to NL, one win over NL.
Madlax 1-2. Win over True by 8. Losses to NL by 4 and Hawks by 2.
Crabs. 0-2. Two losses to NL.
True. 0-1. Loss to Madlax by 8.
Might be other games I didn’t see and didn’t look at last summer.

If the rumored elite division containing the following 10 teams is correct, there are going to be a lot of non-competitive games in elite.
Hawks Next Level FCA Crabs Madlax True Annapolis True Kelly Post BLC HLC Cavs
Kelly Post, BLC, HLC, and Cavs are going to post a ton of 10-15 goal losses against the top five teams like happened this weekend. Those teams would all be better off playing in AAA as they are not remotely competitive with the top teams. Also this will create some crazy discrepancies in schedules. A team could theoretically make the playoffs by beating BLC, HLC, Cavs, and KP.
