NCAA screwed every high school class of 23, 22, 21, and 20 by allowing a 5th year of eligibility for ALL players in college NOT just seniors. This along with the hold backs makes the landscape extremely tilted. we just have to roll with it Agreed...and since we all know that athletic scholarships for lacrosse are pretty meager, how may parents are going to foot the bill for another year of college...sure, it makes sense for a kid like Michael Sowers who is probably not paying a dime at Duke, but that is definitely one of the few exceptions.

Can’t we get a clear answer on everything including the fictitious tournaments being cancelled so all can move on with the summer and stay safe? just move on then. Why wait? It's over.

Sorry not sure what happened to the quote but it was meant for Most of the kids will Move. They are not going to just stay in College to Play Lacrosse. Schools are allowed to carry more scholarships as well next year.

You can’t travel out of state safely to any event with the virus infection rate being so high right now. Money needs to be put aside and focus on the health of our society. I heard they canceled the Connecticut tournament this weekend because of safety issues and reduced capacities at fields. The infection rate is very low all across the north east. Just over 1% in NY and close to that in Ct and just under 1% in NJ. If not now, then when?

So what's the story with Long Island UA tryouts? Are they happening, if not what's the new date? Is it worth it or is just another year of political BS, this time with AA Igloo owner and SWR coach MT? Will either county allows full a contact tryout or will Under Armour be an Under the Radar virtual and political selection of boys?

Eclipse, Tri-State, LXC, Team 91 LI and BBL all listed on Tourney Machine for this weekend's Crab Feast tournament in Maryland. Anyone got the scoop on how this is supposed to happen?

My son is on 91 and we were pulled from the tournament weeks ago. We are playing LXC and Express North this week, and they are arranging other video taped "scrimmages" for us in NJ and CT.

Coaches already know who will be on the team, this year there will be no illusion that they are actual tryouts. Poor Corrigan wont get all that tryout money?? or will they ??? LOL.

What is the reclass rules in NYS once a player has started HS? Meaning a student does 11th grade twice, is 11th grade, the second time around the last year of eligibility? Is it 4 years or 4 consecutive years?

4 years of eligibility once you enter 9th grade---can't re-class in HS --unless you leave HS for a prep school. Most re-class happens in MS or kids start Kindergarten late. The football hot bed states made it common for students to repeat 8th grade ---

The rules state you get 6 consecutive years in HS athletics, but only if you start in 7th grade, 5 years if 8th grade, 4 in 9th. You cannot start varsity in 7th and then repeat a grade to reclass for HS. Reclass in 6th grade.. you cant play anyway.

So any HS player that repeats for goes his senior year because of 4 years of consecutive eligibility. They should change that with Covid. I would have my son reclass, since all the college rosters will be jammed thanks their ruling

Yeah - looks like they added Nassau fields to their site info today. That's what prompted me to ask about Nassau before they added this - the Suffolk fields were just too far to do every week.

Did kids skip UA LI Highlight tryouts? Some names you would expect to be there aren't and vice versa. Its not a real UA this year. Bc of Covid and rescheduling etc...they have having 4 brackets and then win that bracket u go to something down south with the 4 teams remaining. LI will play NE and Upstate in a tourney but that hasn't been announced yet. I think bc of the delay parents are saying schools about to start its time to move on and in the event our child makes the team when and where is the next round. A complete *******. just my opinion though.

Pretty disgusting that 8/10 of the top ten '22s are holdbacks! A shame parents are so insecure that they can't let their kids play their own age. Very sad for the sport. Congratulations to the two on age kids! Glad some can still represent the sport authentically. To the rest, you will be routed against be me for being cheaters. Sometimes in life you need to stand up for what's right, and not sleazy

I think most holdback issues are with kids like the 2002 bday. After sept 1 is on age in a lot of areas, and the cutoff which was used for WSYL so you shouldn’t cry about those kids.

It is a real shame how COVID has hurt the recruiting for the 2021 players. There are many quality players who haven’t committed or took a D3 offer because many D1 programs aren’t making decisions. The One Percent Showcase had great talent that isn’t committed yet.

Get a commit from a great school and move on, if D1 is frozen, make that their problem, not your child's problem.

2020s had (have) it pretty bad too. Their senior season was canceled...2021s may still get one. Oh and college rosters are jam packed with fifth year eligibility kids and transfers due to NCAA giving everyone another year. And they can’t fully practice AND not clear if there will even be a spring collegiate lacrosse season. So while it is tough for 2021s, for sure, the truth is COVID has seriously hurt multiple classes.
