EXPRESS UPDATE

Express is finalizing our summer plans! We have practice fields lined up and are just awaiting the official green light to take the fields again!

Overall the Summer Season is still scheduled albeit with many amended event dates, including a push out of the season into August. We anticipate the amended schedules to be finalized by next week. In addition, we are working with other area Clubs to arrange games locally to ensure competitive opportunities limiting the need for travel and hotels.

In order to help the boys prepare for the season we will be sending out a virtual spring practice schedule. This will include online skill and position workouts with instruction by The Express and college coaches.

While we are moving forward under the assumption that all teams will have a full summer schedule, we realistically understand each team's outcome may be unique. Therefore, at the end of the season we will examine each team's actual summer outcome and determine the need for credits for each team.

We recognize this is a stressful time for all. We are working hard to make summer lacrosse happen. In addition, we are working to ensure the boys stay positive and motivated with the anticipation of coming together in person soon.

One Additional Note for High School Teams!

Event organizers have agreed that all games will be professionally filmed. Games films will be available for distribution to college coaches.

Sincerely,

EXPRESS DIRECTORS

Nassau County Small Claims Court - $10-20 to file a claim against a business for up to $5000

Suffolk County Small Claims Court - $20 to file a claim against a business for up to $5000

Hope it does not come to this........ball is in their court.

If they take the money they must deliver on what they promised. I hope they thought this through.

What if you don't want to risk yourself or your kid getting coronavirus over the next 3-5 months? Can we say we are done for this year and get a credit. Not sure if you noticed but every other sport, school etc is shut down for the forseeable future. I'm guessing you have no testing plan setup so every kid and parent that will be at the field is COVID free. No hard feelings and will gladly be back when its safe but we have paid too much money to settle for virtual training. I have mobile devices that have tons of youtube videos already.

Yeah this all sound great BUT if all the PRO teams are cancelled and having games with NO fans what makes EXPRESS think that any tournament with thousands of people is going to be safe? ITS NOT !

It did for us as well. Committed D1 but almost went NESCAC. Sometimes teaching and training comes with a lot of unspoken lessons that were invaluable and Express does it like no other program.

We realized early on the reality of cronyism, politics, money grabs, pay to play, backstabbers, mother hens, holdback-work-arounds in NY state (even for A+ students).

So after three years of my son schooling all the 'chosen ones' we left the organization because we were pushed down by the 'chosen' families. The next three years were great with another travel team and we got all the looks we needed.

Get out while you can.

I’ve been around the express program for many years with multiple children. I think Coach C and his program is one of the best. Coach C and his great staff have developed many kids to become great players that go on to play college ball. That’s a proven fact. During these extremely difficult financial times we are all facing, I think Coach C handled this last installment payment terrible and believe it will come back to haunt him. The fact he chose to charge families instead of deferring the final payment another month was a poor decision. The 3rd installment was paid back in Feb and NO service was provided for the spring. Why not defer the final payment and continue to monitor the situation? It’s pure greed and it’s a shame. We are all in this fight together. Banks, credit card companies, landlords, etc are all working with families and showing relief during these times. It was a bad business decision made by Coach C and it will leave a bad taste with everyone.

Nope, Not Onandaga and more than likely a step up from you. I can only imagine that the team celebrated wildly when you decided to leave. I know I would have. Good luck to you my friend.

They gave a big Door_Open_And U to all the families that have been struggling these past few months. Jobs lost, struggling to get food at grocery stores and being sure that their children get adjusted to online learning.
There was no reason at all they could defer this final payment until they actually know if/when lacrosse will be played again.
The directors have their heads up their bungs if they think they will have a "schedule finalized next week".
What they did was wrong and it will certainly hurt their program in the future. MANY will turn against them, me included.

Pretty close to perfect. Sure, Coach C has a great program, for the A teams he is interested in. 100% garbage shoot after that. Had some great years and coach’s on B teams and have had total disasters other years. Coach C is all about the $$$, look at the back 2/3rds of his 45+ rosters! He will be eating all these credit card fees if I need a refund. No credit bs for next year.....I’m not a bank! He better come through, game on.

Start contacting next Friday if you don’t get a schedule.

Bad look for Express. Many credit companies sent notifications saying they would work with you during this time of crisis. I even received a little refund from my auto insurance company, although it wasn't much, it was the gesture that mattered. additionally, the IRS pushed their deadline to July 15. So, what I'm asking, how I the world would any travel team charge fees starting in March of this year. Express isn't the only one, many others did the same. Face it people, it's over for the year, move on. Make sure you don't pay these club owners, order a nice take out spread for Mothers Day and enjoy the family!

I notified my credit card company to inform they what was happening. My card was then removed from the Express portal. What they did yesterday wasn't right at all.

The final payment was yesterday and YES they took everyones money. Basically theft of services.

Not here to start any trouble but that is just unbelievable that they did something like that . If my landscaper stop doing a service the past 2 months im not paying him . If my oil charged me home heating but never delivered oil im not paying him. What has Express done or if this is a future payment to have the right to take a payment ?? Serious folks someone has to be done with all these clubs i been saying it for awhile . So sad

There was no reason at all they could defer this final payment until they actually know if/when lacrosse will be played again.
The directors have their heads up their bungs if they think they will have a "schedule finalized next week".
What they did was wrong and it will certainly hurt their program in the future. MANY will turn against them, me included.

When was there final payment and they are still asking for it ?

Express can't be the only club pulling this stunt. Who are the other clubs charging fees for services not rendered?

It's time to start firing off emails letting certain people know what this man has done. I stopped my credit card early last week before the money was taken, and disputed the Feb. payment.

Many clubs took the money, it just happened that express has an option of payment plan and they are getting slammed. 91 took money in full months ago. All CLUBS need to do the right thing for their families.

Like any of the other clubs are different! My son has played for different clubs over the years and they are all basically the same! Go to 91 they act like they are doing you a favor when you give them money. My son played for one of the new smaller clubs last year, usually garbage, were like a family, happy with all the players, and when tryouts came along if your kid didn't fit a certain criteria he got cut! If you can accept the fact that, one, it's a business, two , they are all the same, and three, that's it's really just more field time for your kid! You will be fine.(THEESE PEOPLE AREN'T LOYAL).
