Bottom line, the strongest players were not there to represent the region. Was the face off guy even ranked in the top 10 on LI?? NO. If your son is Is a 2021 and Committed to a school he wants to attend, then don’t waste your time and money on this event. It used to be about repoing your Region. It’s not about that anymore. If your uncommitted and feel you can have a good showing in front of lost of coaches than go.

Winning at UA is all well and good, but getting on the team and having the chance to play at that event is what matters most. Denigrate it all you want, but every major D1 program is there and many have all their guys there. Even if some players opt out as rising seniors, most top prospects played UA at some point in their high school career. It is still an excellent way to be seen. Just look at how many kids commit soon after UA....

Lets forget about UA ... how do you think West Islip will do dropping down to Div 2 ... Will they dominate ???? WI hasn't dominated in Div 1 for a long time what makes you think they will be anything but above average in Div 2 Considering the top 2 teams in D2 could compete with WM no problem, I doubt WI has a shot of anything above 3rd place

Most likely from people trying to stir the pot. As for the top 2 teams in D2, pretty sure they would handle WM this year. WI has been decent but not great since about 2011. It's a toss up in D2 but I do not think WI will be in the mix. Most likely a new champ in D1.

Good luck with that attitude on the next level. I don't think the players are afraid to compete, it is the parents of the players. There are parents out there who can not take it when other players are recognized over their son. I have listened to some of them many times complain about other players receiving more recognition than their son, I have also listened to the parents complain about how tryouts are fixed, rigged, political act... and that is why they do not have their son tryout. These parents think that their son is the best and it drives them crazy when other players receive more accolades and or recognition.

Several top players traveled to other regions to compete Funny that the St Anthonys to SWR transfer was one of the players that traveled to another region to avoid playing for the LI and the LI Coach which also happens the be the current SWR coach How about that for a turn of events and some kharma. truth is probably would not of made the LI team. Our son was on the LI team and it was a complete embarrassment hopefully it improves this year

Most of that UA team would not have made the team if the kids who were supposed to try out did . UA messed up tryouts running them with the Team USA tryouts . That is the reason why LI had such a terrible team . Still the UA tryouts are the best spot to get looked at by all high end coaches

Lets forget about UA ... how do you think West Islip will do dropping down to Div 2 ... Will they dominate ???? You realize the divisions are separated by school enrollment size. You make it sound like Div 2 is a "B" level type division. There are a numerous number od Div 2 schools that would tear up Div 1 programs. With that said, I agree with the previous comment that West Islip hasn't dominated Div 1 in years and this year will be no different in Div 2.

Because your little super star didn’t try out, all those kids who did are automatically inferior? Very easy to come in here and anonymously post about kids who (unlike you and your kid) had the stones to put themselves out there and compete. Where does you assessment come from anyway? The #1 2020 recruit made the team as did the #4. And there were numerous other top 10 D 1 commits on the team. Your after-the-fact bullying of them is just so pathetic....When you don’t show up you sort of forfeit your right to boast about how you would’ve kicked everyone’s butt if you had. Or don’t you get that? Such a lost...

West Islip, Of course they will be competitive. Questioning whether they will be dominant. They won't. They will be strongly in the mix in D2 just as they were in D1. Good program, glory years in the rear view mirror though.
SWR is the best team in Suffolk.

You are under estimating WI , they will be very competitive No one said that they wouldn't be competitive. Most teams are in D2. It's that ridiculous word "dominate" that I think people are reacting to. Only applies to maybe a few teams in that division. And WI isn't one of them.

WI Is a solid team, however not solid enough to be talking about them every single post. They had a great team a long time ago. It seems like someone can’t move on from that. Yes they were the best team 10,15 years ago. Yes they beat Chaminade a few times back then. Yes they won several state championships back then. Ok we got it. It’s now 2020, move on.

I do not believe any of them were from WI parents.... most likely Pot Stirring Trolls trying to start trouble. West Islip will be competitive but just like in Class A, they will not be there in the end. Good luck to All.

Harborfields the County Champ in B, 2018 and 2019. It runs through them again, very solid team. Multiple D1 commits. Not dominate, but gritty kids with plenty of talent. Very strong showing in summer and fall again.

Manhasset, CSH, Syosset, Massapequa, GC, Farmingdale, Port.
Massapequa is definitely not as strong this year as last. Ditto for GC.

In Nassau I think Manhasset, CSH, Wantagh, Farmingdale, and Port have the strongest returning teams.

Syosset will also compete but will be 2 or 3 depending on Farmingdale plays. Port will finish 4th. Appears that is their perennial finishes.

Massapequa is definitely not as strong this year as last. Ditto for GC. Massapequa graduated a large part of last years state championship team, but there is a lot of talent remaining. I'd say Pequa is still the favorite to win A

Pequa has no FOGO. Big problem Not sure where you're getting this, they do in fact have a FOGO as good as most, just not the dominant kid from last year. Not such a big problem.

Farmingdale lost a slew of excellent players, Syosset lost some special seniors and Port doesn't have enough talent outside a few kids. Anyone else going to compete? Baldwin??

Nobody lost more top players than Pequa. Only two starters returning & the rest of the team is inexperienced & untested. Farmingdale should win the ' A ' in Nassau.

Massapequa will not dominate as they have the last few years. A Division will be a toss up between (alphabetically) Farmingdale, Port, Massapequa and Syosset. Big drop off after that. The best public school doesn't reside in class A this year (again). As for wolf hill road banter, save that for your two team league of you and that school on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola.
