Michigan kid is a 2005 birth year - 9th grader. He will still qualify for U15 team next year if he stays good enough.

Missing the point. Not even sure why I bother. Time will tell that the Hawks and Crabs players YOU THINK are holdback are NOT holdbacks. There are some, yes, but they are not the top players. The top players are ON age and will make the U15 team because they will still be U15 and 2023 like most normal rising 10th graders.

Fake news. Crabs players are almost all holdbacks, including all three of the starting attackmen, defense, and midfield. Hawks do have some holdbacks, but no where near as many as the Crabs.

Now that fall tourneys are almost over, did any of the player movements make a difference? How do the True teams fit into the ranks? Did FCA and Loonies gain or lose ground? Did 91's new players elevate them any this year? Dogs & Hawks?

Based on IL and NAL tournaments it appears Looney's is slightly better, FCA is slightly worse, 91 with Texas Kids and Holdbacks is better, Dogs seems to be holding steady and impressive, Hawks and True Atlantic are elite.

The True National Atlantic team is indeed elite. They play fast, skilled and very unselfish. Always looking for the one more pass and constant moving off ball. Was hoping to watch 91 bandits and True play. Would be pulling for True. Definitely one of the best teams in the country. Some really good 2023 teams out there.

Crabs are still the top team in Baltimore and on any given weekend the top team. True is True but they have players from these teams so hard to compare.

All star teams shouldn't really count in any kind of rankings, unless you're ranking just the All Star teams.

I am pretty sure Hawks knocked Crabs from the number one spot last year; Hawks is clearly the best team in Baltimore. Thanks for playing.

The HOCO results say otherwise. Since when are the Hawks a Baltimore team?

So I guess Crabs is a DC team or Texas team when they have players from other States play? Hawks are in HOCO so yes they choose to play in Bmore. Sorry but the sun has set on the Crustacean Empire.

2023 Crabs is the last good team for Crabs. Done after that.

Hawks are yesterday's news as they get older. Crabs are top team this year and will continue as they go thru high school years. Hawks will continue their spiral downward until they graduate, or what is left of them .

I could care less, really... I dislike both the Crabs and Hawks parents as they all act foolish on the sideline. That said, as long as the Hawks have the best goalie, pole, attackman, and import the FO to address that need, they are clearly the best team. Dogs have the best coaching which is why they hang around.

Tell me one MIAA school where freshman make Varsity and see the field? It happens but it is extremely rare; parents needs to wake up and let their kids enjoy playing.

Brightside is that they have some nice T -shirts !

BL Varsity was loaded with underclassman last year. They are still there. Limited spots available this year for the incoming sophomore aged class , oops I mean Freshman class

CHC had one last year who averaged about 3 goals a game. Although he is both a year older, and a pretty rare talent. So, yeah...not very common.

More importantly, why would a kid (or parent) want to make varsity only to ride the bench all year. The High School team will be the only lacrosse all Spring, so kids should play where they will get to actually play.

It is one of the best high school programs in the country. This freshman kid will be fine he is great but no coach is going to bench a Senior Goalie (who by the way is going to a very good D1 school to play lax.) They are both very good but one is 4 years older so get a grip. This is a legit high school program who sends kids to college every year.

Looneys 23 Orange has a lot of Loyola players. smile That was likely going to be the case even before Coach U decided to take the Looneys job.
Depending on how you count "starters", probably all but one of their 'starting' middies and attack are Loyola kids. Defense is a bit more diverse and the FOs are not at Loyola.

Not sure how all those kids did at Loyola tryouts...assuming most are on JV.

So the Loyola V HC also coaches Looneys 2023 but none made the V?

Maybe none were projected to be contributors. What's the point of freshman on varsity if they don't play in the games?

The Loyola 2023 class along with the BL 2023 class are both loaded and will be formidable over the next few years if they all stick together. The JV team at Loyola is mostly Freshmen across the board so it will be interesting to see them grow together over the next 4 years..

Most of the Looneys players at LB ended up on Jv. Two are on the freshman team. No reason to sit on the bench on varsity

And less than a handful are on age 2023. The epidemic of holdbacks is finally here. There have always been some Prefirst/holdbacks in MIAA, but now it is out of control how many are !

As far as I'm aware, Looneys 2023 Orange has zero holdbacks. It's possible that one or two did a "Prefirst" holdback (a few kids don't have birthdays listed). None of them did an 8th grade holdback.

And based on many of the kids playing in age based box tournaments, the top kids are all "on age 2023". So they all just turned 15 or will in the next few months. 16 year olds wouldn't have been eligible for the U15 box tournaments the kids have been playing in over the Winter.

BL is loaded ...and loaded with older 2023. Lets not pretend it is just a prefirst/holdback of one or two, LOL
