BOTC will never understand why parents, coaches, and clubs continue to accept poor customer service. This is at least the third consecutive Spring where BOTC has witnessed the same lack of concern for the girls's side of the game in this league; eventually, someone has to get the hint. Our e-mails to the Nassau PAL program (as we have it) have gone unanswered. So, if there is a parent in our audience who has a copy of the ladies schedules, please send it to us here at BOTC and we will do our best to share it with the community. The girls schedules are not distributed to everyone . They are posted on Horizonwebref so only coaches can view them. remember PAL wants every team to be 500. They have no interest in feeding into this my town team is better than yours. PAL is a developmental league with all towns that have multiple team required to enter them balanced. If you want your kids schedule ask her coach. If you want the schedules to size up the competition get a life! I can understand not posting the weekly game results on a website to avoid the trash talk that seems to occur after the fact, but what is the issue with providing a comprehensive schedule? In my case, I just want to know when the other girls teams from our club and neighboring towns are playing so we might watch to learn or see other kids we know play. Yes, I could email the coaches of those teams/grades directly, but it's a pain for them and me. Why keep score at all? Why don't all PAL teams just have scrimmages every week? Every team can have the same amount of possessions, the same amount of shots on goal, and if one team is still ahead we can give the other team a few extra possessions so the can even the score. PAL's goal is for every team to have a .500 record, where is that written? It's certainly a sign of the times we're living in ... everyone gets a trophy, everyone needs to be equal, level the playing field, fair and balanced, grade on a curve, effort counts more than results and on and on... The PC crowd is going to be the death of this country.

How nice of you to care about neiboring towns ..... Stop creating drama -- our towns are small and people are friends and know other people in the surrounding towns. They may go to school with them or play other sports with them.

I'm not defending the lack of publishing a schedule, but if the league is designed more as a developmental recreational league vs. a competitive travel league, then they would probably want to provide structured games without strict divisional standings. It's more like intramural across towns, since each town can't really field enough players for multiple teams. If you have players that need more competition or want to play with a team based on tryouts, then there are likely other leagues better suited to your needs and you should seek those out.

I'm just wondering if the PAL Festival in Farmingdale coincides with Andy Forsberg Tourney. Although the date for the Festival is not listed on the PAL schedule, the week would be June 8 & 9. Could be an interesting weekend, and I may be reading incorrectly.

The PAL festival is listed on the PAL calendar for the weekend of june 8 and 9. Every year alot of teams have a hard time even having enough players to play in the festival because of tournaments on those days.

How embarrassing Syosset got busted trying to sneak 6th grade girls into their 5th grade game with Harbor Fields. The coach told the girls to use names of 5th grade girls who were rostered on the team but did not attend the game. Who says PAL games don't matter.

The honest thing to do would be to shake the other teams coaches hand tell he or she that you forfeit and ask if they would like to scrimage with a couple of older girls mixed in to field a team. So much for teaching the 10& 11 year old girls how to do the right thing!!Pay the refs and let the girls play !! It is embarrassing that this stuff goes on. Some people will never get it!

Notice to ALL coaches PAL - boys/girls - I suggest asking for roster cards before each and every one of your games - I know I am now....trust no one - the youth sports world is full of Danny Amonte's - and it will never end

This is one coach for Syosset and looking at their lacrosse success at their high school level i would say their youth coaches are doing the right thing for the most part.

3rd Grade A Div
BEWARE OF GARDEN CITY - WHITE - Perisa CHEATERS!!!!!!!!!!!
They used an older brother to play goalie today against Franklin Square. Coach is constantly on the field and walks end line to end line to scream at his players.
Same coach who was penalized in football playoff game (also against FS) this season for SCREAMING "Hurt Him" as the FS QB ran all over his team.
DIRTBAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the information wrong? I have no idea if any of the information is true. I coach a girls team. If it is true they should contact the NCPAL board and file a report documenting what happened. That would get better results than just posting about it.

No, the information is correct. Finnell also cheats. He brings in college kids and a few MLL players every year to play Carey. I swear! Just ask the Franklin Square parents.

Mr.or Mrs. Anonymous,
My point is simple... If all of what you are stating is 100% true you have a right to be upset about it. You should also be obligated to report it to the league. The results you will get from posting about it anonymously will get you nowhere. Here is a copy of a couple of pages from the NCPAL rules that apply to this. Contact your towns Lacrosse director and do something about it. Items # 3,5,7,8,9 pertain to this. ARTICLE III CODE of CONDUCT BOYS & GIRLS Nassau County P.A.L. Youth Lacrosse League It is the Responsibility of all Lacrosse Organizations, Directors and Coaches in the P.A.L. Youth Lacrosse League to endorse and implement the following concepts: 1. All P.A.L. Lacrosse organizations will share the Code of Conduct with their Directors, Coaches, Players and Spectators, and distribute it to them in an effective manner. 2. All organizations are asked to post P.A.L. Lacrosse Code of Conduct at all games where possible. 3. Organizations playing in the P.A.L. Youth Lacrosse programs will be held responsible for the conduct of their Players, Directors, Coaches and spectators. 4. Organizations must provide adequate supervision at all P.A.L. Youth Lacrosse Games. 5. It should be known that if any violation occurs at an event, it is the responsibility of the organizations participating. 6. It is the responsibility of each lacrosse organization to make sure that all their players are from their own school district. Only with advanced written permission from both directors, one from each community can a player switch to another town. 7. Unless the P.A.L. Executive Board approves it in advance, players are not permitted to simultaneously play on any two (2) N.C. P.A.L. Youth Lacrosse League Teams. 8. 1st and 2nd Graders cannot play up. From 3rd grade to 8th Grade, NO player can play down. It is the responsibility of all Directors to report any infractions to the N.C. P.A.L. Youth Lacrosse League ethics Chair. 10. This Proclamation must be signed and date by all Directors. 11. All Organizations participating in the P.A.L. Youth Lacrosse League must abide by these rules. 12. Community: _________________________ Grade: ___2nd, ___3rd, ___4th, ___5th, ___6th, ___7/8th Have All your coaches been informed about the above Code of Conduct? ____ YES ____ NO _____ BOYS _____ GIRLS ________________________________________ _____________________________________ Directors Signature Please Print Date: _________________
ARTICLE III Continues CODE OF CONDUCT Coaches will control their behavior before, during and after a game, scrimmage or any other PAL League event. Cursing, verbal or physical abuse will not be permitted to be used by any member of the coaching staff, player or parent. No verbal or physical abuse of a referee, game official or visiting coach will be tolerated. Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their team’s parents and spectators at all times. Cursing, verbal and/or physical abuse of any player, coach or referee will not be tolerated. Penalties can be assessed against a team for the unsportsmanlike conduct of a parent or spectator and may also jeopardize continued play of the game. COMPLAINT PROCEDURE Any complaints concerning PAL League rules, regulations or code of conduct by anyone participating in or attending any PAL League event should be reported to the Community Director. The Community Director will then notify the League Board as to the nature of the complaint. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated by the PAL Board Ethics Committee and a determination will be made about the complaint that may include fines and/or suspension. GAME EJECTION Any player, coach or director ejected from a scheduled PAL League game for fighting or unsportsmanlike conduct or leaves the bench and goes onto the field during an altercation will be automatically suspended from the next scheduled League game and placed on probation for the remainder of the season. RULES VIOLATION Any coach or director, who knowingly allows a player to participate in a scheduled PAL League game in violation of PAL League rules and regulations, will be automatically suspended. The length of the suspension and the amount of any fines assessed will be determined by the PAL League Board Ethics Committee. Any situations or unusual circumstances not covered by the code of conduct will be reviewed by the League Board and the Board will have the authority to take any action it deems appropriate. You lost get over it. I love how cowards hide behind the anonymous post. Typical comment from a coward, tool box. FYI the goalie is 8, he is also our RB in football. The FS football team is very good an the QB is very good. You should have your QB play lacrosse , he could have helped you, but best player on the field was my GOALIE!!!!! On another note, FS 3rd grade lax boys played a great game, their goalie was really good and the team well organized and tough. GOOD KIDS TO THE POSTER< GET A LIFE<

The snowball will continue to grow until someone from the organizations involved in the incident do something.....
Have your Club Director download off the NCPAL website a incident report they are online for all to see. It says on the report that it must be handed in "prior to the next scheduled game."
NCPAL Code of Conduct item # "5. It should be known that if any violation occurs at an event, it is the responsibility of the organizations participating."
Item # 9 "It is the responsibility of all Directors to report any infractions to the N.C. P.A.L. Youth Lacrosse League ethics Chair."
COMPLAINT PROCEDURE "Any complaints concerning PAL League rules, regulations or code of conduct by anyone participating in or attending any PAL League event should be reported to the Community Director. The Community Director will then notify the League Board as to the nature of the complaint. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated by the PAL Board Ethics Committee and a determination will be made about the complaint that may include fines and/or suspension."

As a GC parent and coach, who has friends on both of the FS and GC teams, what troubles me the most is that we, the adults, are what could have potentially ruined our boy's game experiences yesterday. Let's all take a deep breath and remember that our boys are 8 and 9 years old and they are all still just learning the basics. It was a hard fought game by both teams and as a spectator only focusing on the boys on the field, not the parents on the sidelines, I was very impressed with the skill level displayed. Both teams were very well coached and at this age that is all that matters. S.M.

True. Which is why I guess I'll never understand why a coach who has a perfectly capable team needs to give themselves an unfair advantage, especially at this level?
When it happens to you GC, and I'm sure it will, think of FS--the boys, beautiful amazing kids who love this sport and were cheated out of a fair game then maybe you'll get it.
Congrats on your win!

The one who should be sited is the loud mouth mom from FS embarassing herself at the end of the game in front of her entire team and all the GC parents. What an example she sets--- be loud, aggressive and rude when you lose. She ought to be banned from all future events.

Real simple, a GC parent or two should come forward and let us know if their goalie was the 8 year old RB or an older kid. Without using kids names provide some evidence that there wasnt an older kid in goal. For instance tell us that in fact the 8 year old RB wasnt even at the game, or plays on another team or played a different position in the game.

Agreed. It's black and white. He is either in 3rd grade or he is not. Only grey area would be if he is in 3rd grade but on a different GC team and played with this GC team this day because they needed a goalie. Then I would say GC coaches should have asked FS coaches but it's not nearly as bad since he would at least be the same age. GC coaches need to clear this up - WITHOUT mentioning names.

BOTC is in touch with an individual who reports to be very close to this situation; this individual claims to have knowledge of both the Frankin Square and Garden City third grade teams. The report goes on to state that there were no "ringers" playing for either side in this game. BOTC expects to receive some additional supporting information shortly.

I am one of the coaches of a travel team. I was at the 3rd grade GC vs FS game that is being discussed on BOTC. My Sons team played later in the day @ GC. All this info is verifiable. I have players on BOTH teams and am familiar with both teams and both coaches. GC did not have any "older brother" playing goalie or any boys who have not been on the team all season. I don't know ALL of the FS boys, but I didn't see any ringers on their side either. Everyone on the teams concerned will realize I am the author of the post, and I would be the only person with something to lose by not reporting the facts correctly.

GC was unable to provide a lagitimate roster. Why is that? the roster they provided had 16 kids on it and they had 22 kids on that field yesterday, I am a parent of one of the players yesterday, so can someone please explain to me how when a roster is requested by the opposing teams coach, the response is 'um i don't have a correct roster all the kids are not on there" is'nt there some kind of rule about rosters and having them available and correct at games.

That is the most pathetic comment. An all American in 9 years. First of all the true All Americans are serving our country . You people are completly insane with 3rd grade lacrosse. Actually all ages. Do you really talk to your coworkers about this stuff . If so you are probobly laughed at when you walk away after bragging that your kid had a hat trick at 9yrs old. I've never seen adults so envious of their children before .

Rosters are NOT required to be brought to games. Rosters are made in Feb. before sign-ups/reg. is finished. I am sure an updated roster will be provided to the FS coach to prove validity. Also, the ref at this game said that in 15 years, he hasn't seen one roster. Curious if FS asks every team for a roster or just GC???
