Probably 2 teams at Rock..They picked up some good players locally as well from PA..A bunch of good Goalies and attack. Team 91 tryouts a joke...Total money grab....Koopers looking to make a resurgence at 2023 as well....Crabs had player tryout all summer...Their team is set without any tryouts.....High school a different ballgame...Most of the local teams really never play each other anymore in 9th grade....They all do their own tournament schedule with little play between each other..

Rock sounds like the biggest surprise if accurate. What clubs did those kids leave? Koopers was hyped after tryouts last year and lost every game in HoCo A.

If HOCO results are considered, Breakers, Rock, Team91 and Koopers really did not do well. If we are supposed to believe that a team does well then it would be by adding a few pieces not a major change.

Would love to know how you got your information? Amazing how the Lax Rumor works these days.......lol

Rumors and opinion feed this board. Kids talk with each other about tryouts and teams. Nothing amazing about it.

Looneys and FCA not a factor for anyone not attending CHC or Loyola.... They are kind of limiting themselves to only their High School players....Good for the short term but horrible for the long term...Hence this why you are seeing an uptick with other clubs..A lot of good players out there going to others schools besides CHC and Loyola

what about Gilman McD MSJ Towson JC Dulany Hereford Carroll County, PA or Harford County kids that play for those clubs. There are Loyola kids on FCA and CHC on Looneys

FCA into CH; BUYER BEWARE!! Most of these kids will never see the playing field at CH. Example.....JV and FR/So soccer had 108 kids show up for tryouts; 43 kids made those 2 teams. That means 65 kids who I am sure had expectations of playing in HS will not. I wonder if anyone of those parents/kids are having second thoughts? Lacrosse is the same the only difference is there will be more kids seeing the field if you count the sidelines as part of the field. MIAA Schools are where HS athletics dreams end for 95% of kids.

Not much overall depth at 2023 level. Sure, you have a couple super teams and there are fantastic 2023 players. But as a class, 2023 seems a lot weaker than 2022 and 2024.

2023 depth crushes 2022 and 2024.

Just curious. Do the kids on the jv team at private schools have fall tournaments or just varsity?

Calvert Hall operates with the same rules as St. Frances does for Football.... No rules.... Tons of cash from families with ego's and deep pockets........Makes for a lot of asterisks on championship wins.... Calvert Hall like St.Frances no longer cares about their school and community........They care about championships...How about all of those local kids that will never see the football or lacrosse fields because older kids and kids from out of the State take those positions.... Revel in your championships... Congrats..... Everyone knows its BS

But yet, Calvert Hall led the way in boycotting playing St Frances because their 20 yr olds could get hurt.....

Funny how Calvert Hall screamed unfairness when they hit the papers last year about Football and how they refused to play St. Frances in the regular season. Funny how CHC lacrosse operates with the same way St. Frances runs their football program.....

CH and StF do have many things in common. They both have coaches that care deeply about their players. They both have coaches that are grounded in God and moral purpose. They both have coaches that serve their community. They both have coaches that put their teams before themselves. They both have coaches that help young athletes have opportunities that many can only dream of. They both have coaches that are a blessing to Baltimore.

They both have tons of money and put players from out of State before kids from their own communities... They both will do anything to win...No matter what it takes...Bring on older players from out of town who can’t make the grades...As long as lax and football are first....Well we don’t care because we just want championships.... spare me...

And CH super-booster Kellys are on the front page of the Sun for embezzling money from the neediest hospital in the city. Sad.

Booker was assigned to be the 2023 Coach for RR. His name couldn't even get the team going.

1/2 price for Rock: I know one kid on 2023 that is definitely on "scholarship" with Rock. He and a few others left another club together to go to Rock, but I don't know if the others or the whole team got that pricepoint. I would not be surprised though.

At least in past years, Rock has been pretty pricey. Even at 1/2 price it still might be more expensive than a lot of other clubs around.

Watch out club directors. True Atlantic holding tryouts. No players are safe from poaching. CS involved.

My understanding is that True Atlantic (like the other True National teams) is designed as an 'add on' to a player's current club.

Anyone know how much this add-on team costs?

Some kids from Looney's, Hawks and FCA playing here as a 2nd team, for others this is their only team.

Don’t worry about it. The families that need to know, know.

My understanding is that True Atlantic (like the other True National teams) is designed as an 'add on' to a player's current club.

Anyone know how much this add-on team costs?

Don’t worry about it. The families that need to know, know.

OK. Thanks for nothing. There's a tryout advertised this weekend. Cost is an issue for some. But if your attitude is indicative of the team then hard pass

Some kids from Looney's, Hawks and FCA playing here as a 2nd team, for others this is their only team.

If this is their only team, they will not be playing too often. The Atlantic team played in 2 tournaments this year, both being small format national team tournaments, and the Hawks coach will never let the team become a full fledged club team, too many Hawks on the roster. That being said, it is a very good team, but its not that hard to be good when you are aggregating that level of talent. The trend seems to be that tournaments are going to be either biased towards club teams or national teams. For the 2023 level, just look at Naptown vs. Crabfeast, much more of a national team presence at Naptown. Frankly, if I were a club director, unless I have an extremely talented team at a certain age level (2023 Hawks or 91 Crush for example), I'm not sure that I would waste my time playing against the national teams at tournaments like Naptown. I know that it is good for development to play against better talent, but no kid wants to get blown out by a group of national programs all weekend. This is not meant to bash the national team model, my son has played for one, but it is not a great option if it is going to be your only team. As we all know, the most important aspect of lacrosse is quality practice time, other than a last minute pre-tournament practices, you are not getting that at the national level. Your coach could be the best D1 coach out there, but what are you really getting out of 1 or 2 practices.

The team is hand picked. Tryout is a money grab. Wake up. If they wanted your son he would be on the team already.

Yes, this is correct, completely hand-picked, they know exactly who they want.

My eyes are open and my son is the second coming of Paul Rabil. Anyone answer the question of the annual cost?

Educated guess...$400ish for initial team dues (gets you helmet and full gear) and first camp/tournament. Then $200 for each tournament after.

Last year it was around $350 for the "dues" which included the uniform but not the helmet, gloves, etc. then you had to pay for the mini camps which was $850 for the year. Tournaments are generally around $200 each. Exhibition games are cheaper.
