So - basically the top MIAA teams - then some public schools then Spalding. LoL Had spalding been able to beat broadneck then maybe the SP game could be bragged about. However spalding lost to broadneck - and SP beat broadneck not 1, not 2, but 3 times. So clearly SP > Broadneck > spalding. Those boys just got lucky on a night against a backup goalie starting for his first time. Sorry spalding, you're still a bunch of losers. Still can't get over Spalding not offering you a chance to come there and play in MIAA A. Hit The Wall !! maybe next year ! Advice, dont call a team you want to play for losers especially if you dont make the grade and want to try out again, doesnt go over well. HIT THE WALL !! There is always next year. Ok Ripley - you're still a d-b-a-g... my kid was offered a full ride to spalding and turned it down. I can send you the paperwork if you'd like to see it. Sounds like somebody is having a bad day! No need to perjure yourself . Tell the truth, He was good, but just not up to Spaldings standards, Now have him HIT THE WALL !!! and soon he will be up to Spaldings standards.

Someone is just upset because not only did he not get a scholarship for his kid - he had to donate some big time $$ to the school, talk half a dozen other 2022 hawks families into enrolling in the dumpster fire that is Spalding high school, and hire the offensive coordinator to work for him - all just so his kid could get some time on varsity. Amazing!

NARRATOR VOICE: The phrase "Spaldings Standards" appears to reference a conference record of 10-80 in the past decade, a period including multiple winless seasons, losses to public schools, no playoff appearances, and four different head coaches.

Baltimore Sun Final Rankings
1 Calvert Hall 2 St. Mary's 3 Boys' Latin 4 Loyola 5 McDonogh 6 St. Paul's 7 Gilman 8 Westminster 9 Severna Park 10 Marriotts Ridge 11 Broadneck 12 Spalding 13 Hereford 14 Century 15 Towson 16 C. Milton Wright 16 Glenelg 16 Patterson Mill 16 South River
Towson, CM Wright do not belong in the list. Linganore should be in the list above Century and Hereford. Glenelg should be higher. And Severna Park is much better than Westminster. But who cares... this is just one writers opinion, who probably didn't even see all of these teams play. Baltimore Sun Final Rankings

Westminster beat Severna Park 7-3 in a preseason scrimmage the week before regular season started. Westminster had several starters who were injured for that scrimmage. It was 4-0 SP in the first half when the starters were all playing. Nice try though. SP scored 3 quick goals within the first 5 min, then Westminster scored 7 unanswered goals over the next 15 minutes and SP scored none for that entire 15 minutes. SP cycled every player on the bench during the whole game, as did Westminster, except for the 4 starters that were injured. You guys got pushed around the entire game after the first few minutes. Even your head coach made it a point to say that to the Westminster coaches.

Washington Post Rankings 1 Gonzaga (WCAC Champs) 2 Bullis (IAC Champs) 3 Briar Woods (VA 5C Champs) 4 Severna Park (MD Public 4A Champs) 5 St. Mary's-Annapolis 6 St. Stephen's/St. Agnes (VISAA Champs) 7 Georgetown Prep 8 Paul VI 9 Landon 10 St. John's
Bullis looked incredible at the Geico Championships knocking off Hill and Salisbury. They lost to McDonogh and beat Loyola Blakefield in MIAA games.
Why doesn't Mont Co/DC/Nova have a single league for all the top private schools?

They don't have an official league but the top 2 leagues and almost all of their teams, IAC and WCAC, play each other during the regular season. But it might be nice to have an end of season invitational like the Geico. I'm not sure if the schools would go for it or not.

All due respect to the great season at Briar Woods but they would get smoked by every team on this list. Severna Park had a great season too but were crushed at home by MIAA bottom-feeders and are also way too high here.

Not really thumping my chest, just addressing an incorrect comment with no factual basis behind it with a comment that actually has relevent, supporting factual information. I know SP would not have won in a real game this year because I saw the matchups and am familiar with both teams. If you dont believe me, ask anyone from Spaulding. Have a great summer!

There is ONE public school kid on roster who does Faceoffs. And lets not over dramatize the " Private School Team ". Very few private schools are representative. Its just the MIAA A schools that have players making up this UA team . I would say its more like a MIAA A all star team with one outlier.

UA Baltimore team will be good this year but not great. Talent level isn't like last year but that's understandable as its difficult to have the "best" team every year.
All in all the kids that were picked were the better players at the tryout.

All in all the kids that were picked were the better players at the tryout. No doubt, there are some amazing and well deserved players who played on the squad. And at the same time, there are some definite head scratchers along with a few who have never truly performed at a high level but seem to be "entitled" to making this team time for one reason or another. Its all good though, as the best mindset is for the majority of kids to treat this as a "look" and not to worry about getting selected due to the politics.

Any feedback from the Command tryouts last night? Let’s of talent on the fields That is for sure. But Team was already picked for most players . 5-8 spots available at the most. These arent true tryouts in a sense. They are known all stars for the MIAA along with a few spots available for the rest of players, including other MIAA players, True tryout would bring in out of town coaches who would evaluate talent for that day. Which frankly is hard to do in one day. Thats why it is more all Stars who they know along with a few open spots.

Many top MIAA players this year are on the team., even if they dont have a great tryout, everyone knows their talent. If you think this is a true tryout , it isnt. It is a tryout for a few spots only. Most of players talent is already known by coaches from school and club. No big deal. You still have a shot, just a small one if you are not known. If you are known, a much better shot.

My son is an attackmen, doesn't have a name, never played for a top club, not at a top private. He played against a team that had a top name kid. My son had 3 goals and 2 assists and this young man had 1 asst. I am not saying my son is better than this kid but anyone just watching that game would name my son the better player that game.
