Any insight on who is tops among the 2024 teams for WSYL? Word is Eclipse is tops ahead of Primetime and Express North, Perds..... Yeah. Colsey made a good choice. Eclipse will not only make it to Denver but do well. Picking up the Colsey kid will only help. Primetime will be on the bubble. They're playing, practicing and know what it takes so dont rule them out. Not sure the Colsey departure is a positive or negative to the team but wouldnt rule them out. EN- Playing plenty but based on Fall results against top teams they're a bit of a long shot...... but on any given day! Preds- 1 fall tournament, limited practices and no expanded schedule before qualifiers. Combine limited talent and coaching with that approach and they're an also ran. 2way- The fall team was basically half hold backs and they weren't very good. Picked up some players from the area and north but does it make a team..... First line D, Middies and attackman for all these teams can keep up with the big boys, for the most part, but can any of these teams win faceoffs and get the help they need between the pipes.... Should be interesting.

PT 2024 is looking for big athletic midis. Please reach out to Jason D., decision maker and ultimate recruiter for this team for more details. Attack need not inquire as his son already has this covered.

I am just so appalled by the parents on this team. It's disgusting to me that as a parent on this team this is what we have to look forward too. Other parents calling the shots, recruiting for their benefit and going behind backs. It's under handed and sneaky. JUST LET THE KIDS PLAY. Don't get involved. YOU are not an expert. YOU only hurt you're kid.

Yorktown has its own feeder club its called Ballers and its going to destroy a once great program. Please explain how keeping the boys and girls together is bad for the community? Travel lacrosse has absolutely destroyed the team chemistry necessary to win high school championships on a consistent basis. When student athletes identify with their travel programs more than their town, Your culture is destroyed

But, it doesn't help the players reach their potential. I don't see how playing lower level lacrosse together helps the program succeed. How is travel lacrosse destroying the Pleasantville and John Jay programs?

Pretty amazing how that phenomenon doesn't happen in Maryland or Long Island. Westchester lacrosse is losing ground in a huge way. They all play in a petri dish wrapped in a bubble. Travel gives the kids the experience of integrating and playing with other kids from different styles. Which is exactly what they will have to do in college. The local kids are watered down. Especially on the girls level. Yes, every so often you will get an outlier that performs beyond the local talent. If you want to get better than play with better kids. If their mentality isn't strong enough to know that winning a state championship with their High School is important then there are much bigger issues. Culture is a state of mind not a comfort level. Lets all never leave the nest so everyone can be mediocre and comfortable. Sad !! The only way a Westchester team either boys or girls will win state is if the Long Island bus breaks down on the way to the tournament. We need to do what they do out there. Not fold to parental pressure and simply play the best kids.

How is travel lacrosse destroying the Pleasantville and John Jay programs? Massapequa, Garden City, Smithtown West, Ward Melville and Mt Sinai all have kids playing on various club teams. But they also do a school/town team. These are some of the top publics in the country. Sure there is jealousy and there is jockeying but club makes the programs stronger. (and that would happen if there wasnt travel). The town structure just can't be an all or nothing proposal. Iron forges Iron! In sports you want to challenge the players, mind and physical skill. You want to expose them to the best talent possible, to play both with and against. Saying otherwise is unsportsmen like!

can someone please explain- what it is exactly the ballers is doing? I think at the end of the day- anytime a travel program is run out of a school district , it can get tricky , it just seems that all of the Yorktown greats of the past, did not play travel lacrosse and somehow they reached their "potential" im not discounting travel in anyway , its has its pros and cons , I just feel like if your child is genetically talented and puts the work in , he or she will get to where they need to go

When your towns high school coaching staff owns a travel summer program everyone feels pressured to sign up their kid or there will be consequences in HS. It was going on in Ridgefield until the parents got fed up and it was banned. So Yorktown people either do something about it or please stop complaining.

Wait kids from ytown aren't going to good schools to play lax? Most towns wish they had what they have. Winning States, going to finals, winning counties. Does JJ do this? It's not perfect, but it's a great way to run your program. Just like Mt Vernon hoops - they all play together.

John Jay program has had its issues but we know Schurr plays the best players, plays to win and doesn't have summer lacrosse conflicts. Our guys play with LI Express and Prime Time primarily and we know it has made our program stronger, not weaker. Heck, Pleasantville has just as many NYS titles as Yorktown in the last decade and they have tons of kids playing club lacrosse.

Question/Advice from lacrosse families: my son plays club lax and loves it. However he tends to have the same knee issue keep hi out avery couple of years for a couple of months. He wants to have surgery to fix it but would miss 3-6 months and probably a high school season.. Is there a season or year which is least important? summer/school team, freshman, sphomore, etc.

Do you guys have compromising pictures of the Marist coach? Winning counties? We won last year and the past is just that. You guys are Bon Jovi.

Why so negative? Kids are going to collage and playing D1 lax. Know your sport - last I looked ND, SU, Maryland, Towson etc all have town players. It's just kids playing HS lax. You must be a fun guy at the games.

Looks like Yorktown may be back on top this year, John Jay CR got beat up by Manhasset and barely won against a young weak Rye team. Going to be a long season for Jay. Yorktown does what they do best, rebuild and win
