Brandon Mangan, former Yale standout, a Professional Lacrosse Player in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) and former Volunteer Assistant Coach at Hofstra University has been added as the Colonials new Assistant Coach.
Mangan, a native of Wantagh, NY, plays professionally with the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the MLL. A five-year veteran of the MLL, Mangan has playing tenures with the NY Lizards in 2014, the Florida Launch in 2015, the Ohio Machine in 2016-2018 and the Chesapeake Bayhawks in 2018. He has tallied 15 goals and five assists in 20 career games and appeared in the MLL Championship Game with the Machine.
The Yale University graduate (2014) was a USILA All-American honorable mention as a junior, a two-time All-New England first team selection and an All-Ivy League second team pick during his four stellar years as a Bulldog. He made his collegiate debut in 2011 and led the Yale newcomers with 11 goals and six assists in 12 games. His sophomore season saw Mangan start all 16 games and finish third on the team with 26 goals and 11 assists.
Since January 2015, Mangan has served as the assistant lacrosse coach at Farmingdale (NY) High School, working as an offensive assistant for the 'Dalers. He has also served as a coach since September 2014 and event sales director from 2015 until July, 2016 for the For Love of the Game Lacrosse program in Massapequa, NY. From 2016, Mangan served as a volunteer assistant coach for Hofstra University.
Mangan was a U.S. Lacrosse All-American first team selection and Nassau County Player of the Year at Wantagh High School. He recorded 195 goals and 138 assists during his four-year scholastic career.
