Madlax beat SR, lost to VLC by one, and Cannon's were the top seed. Hard to say ML is not right there. Maybe an off game v. Cav? The division was close all year long for several teams. I am sure Team 91 would have done well in this division along with BLC. Teams are now moving on to the summer and Elite is no longer a label. IMHO
2023:
Tier one:
Hawks (class by themselves)
Tier two:
Club Blue, Looney's, Crabs, FCA, NL, BLC (?) with CB the clear best of the group
Tier three:
91, VLC, Cav, SR, MLX
Tier four:
Lax Factory, PLC, 3d, Cannon's, Top Caliber
This is based on games I have seen and just an opinion for those interested if facing these teams in a summer tournament. Hawks should play in the HS 2022 Division this summer for the extra challenge.

I would rank the 2023 Elite division as:

- Tier 1 would be Hawks & Club Blue (no question on the Hawks, CB/Hawks regular season was a 2 goal game, could have gone either way, but no other team was competitive with CB)
- Tier 2 would be Looney's, Crabs, FCA, NL
- Tier 3 BLC & 91MD

I don't think the other teams are competitive with these teams, so I won't list them...

What does it say about Looneys that they supposedly got several of the best Crabs players yet finished behind them in Hoco and then embarrassed themselves in the playoffs?

Hawks and Club Blue Tier 1
Crabs and Next Level Tier 2
91, Bethesda, Looneys next

Not sure what it say's about Looney's or what it say's about those kids that chose to try another program... I know what it does say about the person that wrote this garbage.....person

This time last year MadLax had two 2023 teams Capital and DMV in less than a year, they do not have enough kids to field one team? They only have a combo 2023 and 2022 team. Going into HS this could not be great for those kids. The new Club Blue team does not count as they already existed and now just have a Madlax label. Is there just not enough kids in NOVA?

There are enough strong VA players but the problem is the way Madlax runs its program. My son is a talented northern Va player who attended MDLX tryouts. He was offered a roster slot but they wouldn’t confirm what team he’d play on. Especially for a newcomer who wasn’t well know by the coaches, we didn’t want to accept if there was a chance he’d get put on the state team. So he accepted a slot on a competing club. I like the way MDLX keeps its players active with playing opportunities, but among other tweaks, it needs to rethink its tryout process to make their program more inviting for prospectives.

That specific year isn't as deep numbers wise and when the 3 best players from that 2023 team left who are all very good, that crushed that specific team for Madlax. They haven't recovered since.

One issue this team has is that it looks like they are a combo 2022/2023 team. This would be a big issue for this age because the 2022 group is now HS so they have very different seasons. They could not play in HOCO and many tournaments break up HS and MS. This would hurt the development of a good 2023 player. Madlax may tell parents this will just be for the summer then they will create a 2023 team. However, this program seems to be going the other direction. What would make them think more players will join when they must have lost far more than three players? Too many other options in N.VA that cost less and don't have the issues. Any club in VA should only focus on one team per age. Madlax imported the 2023 team. If I was a parent on the 2nd team I would be busy in August looking for a new team.

For the 2023 Level, what’s the difference between the Madlax DC Dogs and Madlax Capital Teams?

The Madlax DC dogs is team that used to be under Club Blue. The Madlax Capital team is the same kids team from last year. I am sure when you see the title Madlax National team 2023 it will be kids from both teams and others.

What New York team got beat at 2023

Ducks got beat in A, 91 had a team in B. They beat up on Zingos and Club Blue, but did not get to face a good team.

Got it, because the Maryland teams were definitely not making any noise at AA

Here is a conversation starter on this beautiful fathers day morning. Who has the hottest moms at the NAL tournament? My vote based on yesterdays observations would be sweetwater NY.

Naptown 2023 shows Annapolis Hawks v Team Baltimore and True National v Dukes National in semis. Anyone have information about Team Baltimore? I have never heard of that club.

Go Hawks! Good to see a team that is NOT made up of all stars but instead the regular team that plays together and coached together competing. Nothing wrong with a National team but as a fan of the game, I like to see coaching win over drafting and recruiting at the 7th-8th grade level.

Team Baltimore is being coached by the assistant at McDonough and is made up of kids from Crabs, Looney's FCA and other local club teams. They lost to Hawks 8-6 and Dukes beat True 10-5. So there is a rematch from yesterday's Hawks/Dukes game which Hawks won 8-7

So it turns out that the best of Baltimore’s elite teams cannot beat the Annapolis Hawks. The chatter was that the Baltimore clubs were diluted because the best players were scattered among the three teams you mentioned. So combined they fall short.

Now that is rich ... a McD coach and players from crabs, fca, and looneys ... doubt if there is an one age kid playing for that team

Let those boys from Team Baltimore play together for a season and lets see what happens. First tournament together with a few weeks of practice and lost by 2 goals.

Oops. 7-5 Dukes in ship.

Don't forget that Dukes doesn't practice so not surprising after losing early to Hawks in a tournament they took them out after 5 games together

Don't take away from the boys - these were 2 very talented teams. I am sure they will see each other again. Final score was 5-3

Most of them have already played together for years.

I’m sure your son will be at Hawks tryouts in August. If you cant beat them join them hope he can keep up with the “holdbacks”. Stop hating on these children and give them some respect they are a very good team playing within the rules.

It’s the truth... don’t like it then dont play club lacrosse. I could count the “holdbacks” on one hand and still have plenty of fingers to tell you you're #1. Just because they are big talented athletic kids doesnt mean they are older. Dont be sour because your sons team cant beat them.

I don't get it... there are many teams bigger than the 23 Hawks team. They have 3 or 4 big kids, mostly average size kids, and 4 or 5 very small kids. Sounds like any 7th grade class. There are just too many crybabies out there. Team Baltimore and Duke's were FAR bigger than the Hawks. Several teams in HoCo were also bigger.

That’s because dukes has kids that we’re in 8 grade this year playing for their 2023 team
