Two-time National Coach of the Year and one of the most influential figures in men's lacrosse, DickEdell has passed
Edell was inducted into the US Lacrosse National Hall of Fame in 2004 and the IMLCA Coaches Hall of Fame in 2016. He's recently been the subject of several Inside Lacrosse features.
“The entire lacrosse community is saddened by the passing of Hall of Fame Coach DickEdell,” IMLCA President J.B. Clarke said in a statement. “The IMLCA and ALL of our Coaches send a collective hug to the Edell family and all of the Maryland Terrapins. Coach Edell was a great teacher. There is not a coach who had the honor of meeting, competing against or working with Coach Edell that did not come away from the interaction a better person. The "Big Man" will be sorely missed.”
