It would be tough for the Geese to join the fun considering 5 of their players tried out for 91 this weekend

At least they changed the schedule to have 91 and Express play each other as the 3rd game, anticipating they'll both be 2-0.

91 and Geese will be there. Not sure about Express. Gease already has losses in players and coaches. A loss to Blast, which is likely, will put the final nail in the coffin. The parents will run to the hills and make Express and 91 even bigger.

Interestingly there is only one 91 team at this age. Express and Legacy have two.

the other 91 team for this age fell apart, then they tried merging 2025 with 2026's and that didn't work out at all, so everyone left to seek other clubs

How is the new daddy coach doing at Geese? How many left? Wrecking the Geese like he tried to do with 91. 5 kids tried out for 91 and 91 took 3 of them. The other 2 had poison parents, word gets around, and were told they should try out again after the season. Translation - weโll still take your money even if we wonโt take your kid. Now pay up sucker!

Express is a 2024/2025 team, they should have an * after each win saying that they're a combo team(cheaters)

Express beat Dukes 10-2 in preliminary round and 11-6 in the Championship. Dukes doesnt start playing kids down until 7 and 8 grade. They are usually not that good at this age bracket.

But the parents are problems as well.. You have the little cliques that stand off in their little circles and complain amongst each other at tournaments and practices. All commiserating about their next move. None of them know anything of loyalty and start talking about jumping at the first sign of any issue. If you look at those parents on the sideline at a tournament they look miserable. They are the most unfriendly bunch you will ever meet.

Stop being a hater. If the kid is the right age come WS time you will have to deal with it! if he is not of Age, just like all the teams you wont have to deal with those hold backs.

Actually its 100% true that 5 geese tried out for 91. And that 3 were taken on by 91. Why not the other 2, not sure. One of the dads spends every game screaming at his kid from the sidelines. You can see the boy is actually afraid. The other dad needs for his kid to be the best so badly, he incited a fist fight on the sideline when Legacy A decided not to play the Legacy B team in a championship game. He couldn't bear being co-champions with his own club's B team. People are watching your antics and word gets around.

OK, so we all agree he is in 6th grade. Now it is OK because he is small? Maybe Cornell can ask for Rob Panell back. What a joke.

Itโs not only a tryout, itโs a camp as well ๐๐. Iโm sure it will be money well spent. Both the 91 camp and the Legacy groupon is a marketing ploy. You should all realise by now that the club team is a business. Legacy is clearly trying to maximize the number of people trying out. Figuring if more try out they end up making the same money anyway. And they have more talent to choose from for their team. It obviously works for them, because they do the groupon every year. If you look at 91 past tryout schedules they spent 15 hours to cover tryouts for 8 grades. Plus an additional 3 hrs for the top 2 oldest grades. So essentially they figured out if they did the grades as a camp for 3 days at 5 hours each day, they could just split up the coaches for the drills and charge more for each kid because now its a camp. And it may attract more people because it may cost $165 instead of $100 but their kid gets to be at a camp for 3 days. Actually its a pretty good deal if you ask me. The risk is they may lose peopke trying out who cant committ to a 3 day camp. But honestly if someone is serious, they will just contact 91 and Im sure they will arrange another way for a kid to tryout. The big question is since the camp is in early July, is 91 going to put out their roster and commitment date before Express and Legacys tryouts. Essentially trying to grab the talent early. That could backfire. Igloo tried that last year, and seemed to be scrounging for players this year.

That could backfire. Igloo tried that last year, and seemed to be scrounging for players this year. Okay, so camp value, I agree. But impoving tryout results, I don't. I have been involved with this for years as a parent (it used be Sept on a Sat/Sun). And best kids were always picked...somehow.... However, this a copycat business and now other clubs will follow and do the same thing. The best way to do this, since its going this way, is to hold a tryout camp and then on day 2 separate the kids into groups based on ability. And let kids in lower groups play their way back into the top group. Express and 91 used to do something similar, however, the lower groups were like cast offs and basically felt cut already. Also, how about the clubs providing a grading sheet for eachildren player? Let each kid know where he stands and let him know what he does well and what needs improvement. e.g. weak off hand skills, good lax IQ, strong footwork, etc. Develop the categories and give feedback. Do that, and I would send my son to the 91 camp (and we have no plans of playing for 91) just for the feedback evaluation and extra lax.
