Total Points - Can someone tell me how this is calculated and the weight it holds? Looking at Section IX and teams with better W/L records are lower in the standings. How is it calculated and is that the top factor for determining playoffs? Sorry for the NewB question, but searched a few places and found nothing. Thanks in advance

For Sext IX not sure, but for XI or any league don't worry now, worry in a few weeks. After 10 games in. It will fluxuate with teams winning and losing to higher ranked teams. The only number to worry about is 8 wins.

For Class A
Sect XI site ranking holds weight for the playoff picture, but it is to soon to make heads or tails of it right now. You have to have the teams cycle through at least half the games to figure out the 5-10. Top 4 will probably remain the top 4 whether or not they remain in the spot currently in.
I doubt Whitman amd Smithtown East will stay that high. Or Northport and Commack that low. West Islip moves up one.
Another battle for the last 4 spots out of 6 teams. If the bracket only takes 11 teams. Advantage teams with current ranking. Bay Shore Lindy Riverhead Sachems Smithtown East Whitman
Lindy is a product of their easy schedule, should get a lot of wins. Will that hurt the rankings. Riverhead is a must win. West Islip a reach. Still might be the first of that group to get in.
Whitemen high current rank will help. West Islip and Riverhead games are huge.
Riverhead will play Whitmen, should win. But Commack and Smithtown East game are big. Should take 2/3. West Islip loss hurts unless WI does damage. Should be next in.
Smithtown East is headed into Must win month thru 4/28.
Bay Shore and the Sachems won't get to play Lindy or Whitmen and that could come back to bite them. Gotta take care of business against each other and try and steal a game. Bay Shore's Commack Loss hurts unless Commack does damage. Sachem North's Northport loss hurts.
Lax Power also has an interesting rankings that I could see. Probably gives a truer picture. Maybe swap Huntington and West Islip. And Riverhead and Commack and Lindy and Bay Shore.

Typo. Meant section xi. Thanks for clarification Never know, but Monroe Woodbury is the big school up in 9. CBA could field a team to compete Won't get to Div II today... still confused on the split. tougher than A to lay out particularly this early. And if only 6 teams for B and 6 for C are picked and 1 from D. I'll take Babylon in the smaller size? But these are who I like in this order. Harborfields - tough kids, tough to rule out. Islip - like the players, got a bit of everything, and the It factor. Mt Sinai - look out for them. East Islip - has something Hate to like ESM as much as I do. Will see what today brings. Like them over SWR SWR/Hills west - should be in the mix missing a few pieces may may not hurt. West's scores against Port was impressive. Both young.

Hate to be critical, but the editorial comments associated with each team are as close to useless as any I've seen on here.
Islip has a VERY strong team this year. Class of Suffolk B/C
I'd expect Islip vs. CSH in LI Championship with the Buccaneers continuing on upstate...

It seems that the Igloo Nation in Syosset is not getting it done.
That’s how it goes when HC plays money ball.
Sad.

Sad. Completely accurate. What an embarrassment and HC doesn’t think all the parents are talking about this and see what he’s doing for his Igloo Boss. If he keeps making changes to his lineups just to get those igloo kids time on the field, this will be Syosset’s worst season. Not one of those kids is a dominant, stand out player. No one plays mental games with their players better than him.

They have taken the entire desire to play away from these kids with their head games. Since he is trying to make the team an extension of igloo He should just go coach club and quit. What a disgrace he and his Assisstant are. I hope all those parents that fought for him to stay on are really happy with there efforts. The entire coaching staff needs to go.

I guess its easier to blame the coach, blame the freshman players on the team for an entire team loss. I guess it's 100% accurate that its the players from Igloo are losing the games for Syosset. I mean god forbid there are 30 plus players on the team that should be held accountable in practices and in games for stepping up. The coach wants to lose, wants to play favorites, doesn't want to put the best kids in, and wants everyone to complain. Sounds like you all know exactly what your talking about from a very narrow minded self centered, helicopter parent point of view. If your son is better he will play. If your son proves himself in practices and in games then he will play. If your son isn't playing enough I guess its easier to hide here and take cheap shots because you are extremely passive aggressive individual that would rather make excuses and put blame then actually see the truth. So here it is: if you want your son to play then they have to work harder, play smarter, execute more then other players. Its that simple, any other complaint is not helping your son. In fact your teaching him to be a poison to himself and others. And that is not how to build a team. Team mates want others to be successful, because its a true team sport that requires all players to play together and well, in order to win games. If your not a part of making the group a team, then your against the team. That is how simple it is.

Stop with the black ice boys. None are a factor and NONE belong on the varsity other than the one middie that plays for Manhasset. The lone Syosset win was an extreme outlier for them.

Well your ST Doms entire season is CUPCAKE oh that's right the coach handpicks games so kids can put up inflated numbers. There isn't a bigger fraud or carpetbagger on the island public or private. Ya think Northport can turn it around and make the playoffs? They've been playing without there top D pole since the Hills game. So they got smacked by Smithtown West. If the HC was not affiliated with a travel program and he was playing a bunch of 9th graders while the team was losing, you can question his judgement but not his motives. like when a coach has a kid on the team. From what I have seen the 9th graders are neither the problem nor the solution for this years team. But the perception could be.

Syo needs to get dedicated professional coaches, not guys mailing it in while raking in $$ with their summer camp programs and travel directorships.

Hahahahaha - seems like a lot but it was really only 3 families (lucawhatevers, Burke and Speranza's) yest that was 10 very good players but that is history now, I can not think of any players they have lost to St A's (I don't think Raffa lived in Syosset when started at St A's) and the two good players from St Dominic's are back at Syosset.

HS lacrosse is a part time job and you parents think that it is so much more than that but in reality, that is all it is. parents in virtually any other town would be thrilled to have a coach put in that much time 11 months a year every year as your coach does. Yeah he makes money coaching and with the camp and his travel teams but the amount of time and effort he puts into this program is second to none. This does not mean you like him or respect his coaching ability but you can not question his work ethic for this program. The one thing that he has excelled at over the years is getting his players onto college teams, and not the All Americans that didn't need him but the average players that needed it the most. believe me, when this job does open up their is not going to be a big pile of resumes to go through, no reputable quality coach is going to want to deal with you parents no matter how much money you throw at them.

What a deflection. Obviously people are upset with the syosset coaches but you try and change the narrative to something that has absolutely nothing to do with the problems in your town. You have a really unhealthy obsession.
