With out a face guy 91 will struggle. So I was told the kid that faced off had left and went to another team? Also 4 othwe of their top players as well? Does anyone know?
91 has a faceoff kid who is very good. The kids who left were not the “top” players. The 91MD Face-off player you speak^ of moved to Roughriders. RR will benefit from the extra possessions this season. 8 players and 2 coaches left the 91MD team at the end of last season. Where did they all go besides FO to RR?? 3 to RR, 1 to Crabs, 1 to API, 2 quit playing club lacrosse because they were not having fun, to include their starting goalie. Not sure who the other is. Trolling at its finest again. Why don't you just roll up to these teams practices and get the skinny yourself. These teams have been formed for 6 months already and most likely practice all the time and have played some games or scrimmages to this point.

This forum is crazy. Someone saying the spend all this money on the child's lacrosse so that give them the right to be a jerk. Another saying to buy , sell or hold on 8th grade lacrosse teams. Calling programs armpits? Please those who want to do that stuff should get a life. Spending money does not give you the right to be an ass. People should not comment on the teams until the games are played.

People should not comment on the teams until the games are played. Yes and No! Disparaging an entire program is most likely a sign of unfairly displaced anger. That's just stupid and easy to spot. There are to many good volunteer coaches, talented players, respectful parents in every program. Each program has its good teams, bad teams, good coaches, bad coaches, good parents, bad parents, etc. However, there are some shady practices, poor conduct and unethical practices as it pertains to youth sports going on at different programs and levels, which people should communicate and help others become aware of. If it is ignored, it will never stop. Some things may be true, some may not, but intelligent people can read, watch and make their own minds up. That is what forums are for! A lot of things happen behind the scenes, at practices and on the sidelines during games, where parents can see actions or results, but not hear the words or fully understand what happened, whether its your team or an opposing team. For club participation competition, total player numbers, demographics, logistics drive tryouts, outside recruiting and ultimately team success. Instruction is being replaced with marketing and that is where uninformed parents wind up placing their players in bad situations. This happens to be a 2022 forum. It is fair game for people to air out dirty laundry from their experiences on 2022 teams or certain coaches. If you are intelligent, you can read it and sift through the s!@# talking and unfair criticism to gather the more important details in an effort to become more informed. Everyone understands that these teams compete at a very high level and that means at some point, you may be faced with a decision to watch your child sit, or move them. When that time comes, you should appreciate some of the information, good or bad that is passed along on here, so you can approach your options with eyes wide-open. Most of this stuff DOES happen in some way shape or form and people should not ignore poor behavior, practices and coaching, simply because their kid starts on one of the top teams at a particular age group. These programs and coaches are responsible for your kids during a very impressionable time of their sports career. Ask them the hard questions, hold them accountable, so they have to break trust in order to deviate from that responsibility, or actually tell you the truth up front. Its not really that hard or painful to read info on here and then go watch a tournament or game where a coach is jumping up and down like a raving lunatic in front of his players, yelling at referees because they ended the game 1 minute early, due to his players getting chippy because they were losing by 4 goals. There are multiple problems going on in that scenario and it should NOT be ignored.

I think the hardest part is people want to stay unknown so they say this team cheats or this coach is a jerk. But they are scared to give real details of the why this is true because they know the people around or on this team will know right away who is typing. So all I ask is people please try to give real reasons why a coach or team is bad or even good not just [ChillLaxin] "they cheat" they are mean" type posts

It's the parents, not the kids, who hate each other. My kids regularly hang out with and communicate with kids from other teams, some of whom they barely know, but have a great deal of respect for. This! I am reminded of a movie called "Finding Bobby Fisher" about kids playing competitive chess. At one point, a tournament organizer is forced to lock the parents out of the building so that the kids could just compete in peace. Shame on all and everyone of us that contributes to a toxic environment knowingly and/or unknowingly. Let's check our egos at the door this year and let these kids play, be competitive but also mutually supportive, and as others have pointed out, help our kids create, develop and nurture relationships they will shortly experience during their high school years as the play against the best lacrosse competition at any level in this country. That is a legacy we can all work towards building. You are the funniest person on this forum. Let's all have a group hug and agree to a code of conduct. Oh yeah most of us already signed some agreement that this is travel and we play to win. Some of the best games have been up north vs LI and NJ teams. Players play and parents get to talk as much [lacrosse] as they want. Thousands a year spent on lacrosse you bet your [lacrosse] I'm going to talk [lacrosse] at the games and on this forum. If you want peace and quiet go have your kid join the chess club.[/quote] Somewhere out there > My kid can beat your kid at chess. >>Your kid can only win at chess because he is a [chess playing] holdover. >Annapolis chess team is full of holderovers and you know it. >>That Baltimore chess player is going D1. Great opening moves, and perfect end game

Spring thaw has a ton of good teams and match ups. Too bad it's not a championship format . It will be great for all the teams in it to get good competition before league starts. Gotta love LI Express playing 2 top teams from MD.

Dukes/Koopers - hold DCE - buy Crabs - hold Hawks - buy RR - hold FCA - buy 91MD - sell MadLax - sell API - hold Next Level - sell Hmmm. Hawks is definitely a buy. They are in a league of their home. Followed closely by reloaded RR and Crabs. Not sure why you are buying DCE. They lost to Madlax today. Or maybe Madlax is better than you thought.

How did API and Crabs look today Watched one game involving Dukes and API, and another involving Crabs and Philadelphia Freedom. All of these teams looked solid, and the potential for growth and development opportunities was apparent. Dukes had kids from Koopers, Rising Sons, Looneys and I believe Brotherly Love (?) playing on team. Dukes goalie could not have been a 2022 (he was enormous and had facial hair), but someone mentioned the regular goalie was out of town. Dukes built a halftime lead over API but API played them even in second half, and always appeared competitive. Got some very good LSM play. Dukes defense solid, but all scoring came from two kids. Dukes deeper/more talented, but did not appear "invincible". Crabs beat a very good Freedom team by 3 goals. Like all the teams I observed, way too many turnovers and losses of possession. Physical play. Good goaltending and adequate defense. Offense looked improved over what i observed last year. By the way, the Delaware facility is tremendous. Shame we don't have a similar complex in Maryland. All of these 2022 teams looked great and not much separates them. Wish I could have seem a Hawks game, but most of the 2022's played at the same time intervals.

It is a shame, but it does work..Look at Dukes roster. They show birthdays for many players. Some are two years older than they should be for class. Many are 1 and many are older for their year. Bottom line. Hold your child back if you want to play D1. Your changes are better.

Not sure where you think that Dukes has a roster posted at all, let alone one with birthdates. My son is on the team as well as 2 of his club teammates and all 3 of them are normal age 2022 players.

Facial Hair! Hilarious.. So many over age players for the proper grade now. It is a shame, but it does work..Look at Dukes roster. They show birthdays for many players. Some are two years older than they should be for class. Many are 1 and many are older for their year. Bottom line. Hold your child back if you want to play D1. Your changes are better. The goalie does not have facial hair. He is the usual goalie for the team. He plays for Koopers. Not sure where you think that Dukes has a roster posted at all, let alone one with birthdates. My son is on the team as well as 2 of his club teammates and all 3 of them are normal age 2022 players. Guessing he's referring to Duke University. There are a bunch of reasons why college players are older - they were held back when they 4-5, did a PG after HS, redshirt due to injury, Grad student. There was one Duke player that joined the military after graduating, did a couple of tours in middle east and then cam back and played as a grad student at 26. Also my 13 and 16 year started shaving at the same time, Go figure....

Where did they play at? Was it a close game? Score? Sounds like a good win for MADLAX if this is true. Didn't plates jump ship to DCE?

Shame we don't have a similar complex in Maryland. All of these 2022 teams looked great and not much separates them. Wish I could have seem a Hawks game, but most of the 2022's played at the same time intervals. Hawks looked very good but a bit rusty as expected from all teams. They were fast all over the field with very good goalie play.
