The lacrosse world lost a great one on Friday. Paul Schomoler passed away from a bout with cancer.
I played against Paul for four years in high school and for four years in
college. We finally got to play with each other in the 1989
North-South All-Star game.
We also played against each other for many years in club lacrosse and
for many years in Lake Placid when he was the starting goalie for Rusty Red versus
Brown State.
He was a 4x All American and was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and the Ivy League Player if the Year in 1989.
As a competitor, he was someone you definitely did not want to face.
He was a kind person and he was a good person that will be sorely
missed.
