CSH has 3 very good seniors, 3 decent seniors and one good jr. after that, they are very young and will take their lumps out of league but will still likely win league and county but the buck stops there...

Doubt it. hey dont have a faceoff guy and they are shuffling players around because they are weak at a few spots. Oh and they also lost one of their starters on defense.

As for CSH and the two kids from '21 yes. gone. '22 is a strong class for them, then there will be a drop off for the forseeable future after 22...

They have a face off guy. Kid who was at St. Anthony's who is committed to Marquette transferred back to Northport. Lost a pole but the rest are real solid and they returned there starting goalie.

Syosset has no FoGo and no Goalie. Attack is overrated overall, however some talent at Midfield. Also, bad attitude on the team epecially among the seniors. They will likely loose 3 out of 4 none league games, but will do OK in their league which is weak other than Massapequa. They will be out is the semis or finals in Nassau A.

How is Suffolk B looking? Often regarded as one of the tougher leagues. Many very competitive teams. Who's tops, who's a sleeper?

ESM vs HHW last game of the year for these two could mean a lot to both clubs
Harborfields poised to be a top contender
West Babylon value pick

Not sure why you say that, look at your past losses, did you ever beat those teams you lost to as you got older. You have a good team, sur ethe coach get more out of you but I think it was just a reflection of the team. The next few years will not be the coaches fault, just maybe be where the team is. Enjoy what the boys give you, will be a great season either way

No goalie? Syosset has a junior goalie committed to Stony Brook. That a decent D1 program. Wasn't he the starter last year

Lighten up Francis (quote from Stripes, meaning don't take things so literally)

keep your holier than thou nonsense for the NYT op/ed section ( implying that the previous poster is self righteous and if he wants to make 'snowflake" post he should do it in the New York Times opinion editorials )

not BOTC (Back of the cage being a reputable source for news and opinions as opposed to the 'Fake" New York Times)

Jerk off! (suggesting that the post should self gratify rather then posting on this web site)

I hope this clears things up for you

If the coaching was better then the team could get further and achieve their potential. Coaching isn't good enough.

Some stats for LI Lax fans to digest.

Over the past 10 years only 5 teams from Long Island have ended the year in the top 25 poll 5 times or more.

In a national level 18 programs have done this. Darien and Deerfield have done it the most consistently at 9X.

Some great programs like Jamesville Dewitt Summit and St. Ignatious, etc. are left out as they have only finished in the top 10 poll 4 times in the past decade. Manhassett does not fit.

So, here are the Long Island teams :

Chaminade 8X
St. Anthony 7X
Ward Melville 6X
West Islip 5X
Garden City 5X

Haverford, McDonagh,Boys Latin, Delbarton, Georgetown, Calvert Hall, Landon, Conestoga, Gillman,Culver, and LaSalle all are in this class 5X or more. So we have some storied programs in this company.

So, my questions....

Is the better program the one that's in the top 10 the most times but never finished #1?
(Chaminade)

or,

Is the better program the one that finished #1, but runs hot and cold and is in the top 10 less consistently?
(Garden City, Ward Melville, West Islip)

I think several years ago West Islip would have fit into both categories and been a clear winner, but they have not ranked in the top 25 in the past 5 years. Is their best behind them for Scott Craig and his team?

This is not meant to start the private vs. public debate but I am more impressed with any public school team showing the year in year out level of competitiveness that GC/CSH/WM and WI show then a private always being good. IMHO

Many of these programs are using 91 as their back office. Jesters, Ducks, Empire, all do this. 91 ended up buying Empire. So this seems logical, especially since Legacy is a 91 coach that spun off on his own from what I understand.

5 years would be a more relevant barometer as to which programs are currently the strongest. Any program that has not made the list at least a couple of times in the past 5 years can not be considered a top program.

Off the top of my head I would guess

Garden City, Cold Spring Harbor, Ward Melvile, Chaminade and St. Anthony's Maybe Manhasset, SWR? Syosset, Massapequa?

Garden City and Ward Melville don't run hot and cold. They are consistently and historically very strong programs. Ratings are meaningless without direct competition.
