I'm sure that good natured host family would be just happy happy to put up a child in need even if he didn't play lacrosse..

So now its someone else's business where parents send there kids to PRIVATE school ? As far as I know its a "Private" School open to anyone, so if someone wants to commute 50 or 100 miles to school (As some kids do at St A and Chaminade) who's business is it. If it was a public school maybe there's an argument but for a private school weather you live across the street or across the state does not matter.

So? St. Paul's school is in New Hampshire and draws from all over America. They're private schools. Doesn't matter where you come from. That being said, the state of education in Texas must be horrendous if they are choosing to go to St. A's...

So its a "Joke" and "Amoral" and lacks character for a kid from down south to go to a private school on Long Island ? If he went to a private school upstate NY or in PA, Maryland, Jersey, or Alaska would that be ok ? You obviously have a strong hatred and BIAS against the kid, St Anthony's, and or 91 Crush . lol...Ridiculous argument ... ITS PRIVATE SCHOOL DEAL WITH IT.

Why does it bother you so much if the kid is from a state down south? He is probably a very good lacrosse player whose parents recognize his talents and want to give him all the advantages that come with playing on Long Island. The amount of money the parents will save not having to fly the boy all around the country to attend tournaments, etc. and the education cost is far cheaper than a non-Catholic private school.

I thought host families were for foriegn exchange students. And SA is not truly classified as a national private school rather it was always just classified as a regional catholic school. But things over there are changing.

Why are they jumping the shark?

If someone from another state wants their kid to attend St Anthony's for what ever reason, sports, education, or whatever, and the parents can make what ever arrangements they need to in order to make that happen, still don't see how that's a problem. If they bought a kid a house or condo, or rented a home in Huntington would that be ok ? Don't see how its any ones business or honestly why people care . Families on Long Island pay to send their kids to other PUBLIC school districts outside their home districts for athletics or other personal reasons all the time, they ABSOLUTELY do. Sounds like people have maybe a jealousy issue specifically with St Anthony's.

St Anthony's lacks in morals and ethics, bottom line. Just look at their record. Terrible!

Neither angry, nor jealous. just pointing out the the fact that St A has a well earned reputation for cheating. Just last the boys who were on the team last year, they would describe it as far from comical.

St. A is not a boarding school you dope! But you are spot on about why someone from out of state would want to go there. School is mediocre in all respects. Academics are rather weak.

If this is regarding an out of state student athlete I dont understand the issue. St. Anthonys has students from abroad and from many different towns. If a student and his family from out of state want to send their child to attend and there is a family member or a friend who is willing to board the student there is no issue. The parents pay the tuition and the student has the grades to attend then there is no cheating.

If it were a public school and a family or non family member who was not a legal guardian boarded a student and they attended the local school then thats an issue.

The problem, Greg R.N., is that there are (ironically) no rules in the catholic league. St. Anthony's takes transfers from out of state whenever it works for them, especially if the kid wants to play both for Express and a Varsity lax coach who has trouble understanding eligibility rules Stepinac, Cardinal Hayes, etc. offer full ride scholarships for football and other sports and also accept transfers. Everyone on here seems to hate Chaminade, but they don't accept transfers and don't offer any athletic scholarships. If you cannot get in as a freshman you are not going to Chaminade. St. Anthony's bringing in upperclassmen from Texas only proves what is already widely known: the school is a joke academically and will do anything to try to win. That is the issue. Coming from Texas for that is just insane, but each to his own. Merry Christmas

It's a local school and nobody needs to have their kid sit the bench because Wizorass let's the kid on the team. Again, they broke the rules last year, they are supposed to be Catholic, and the B's continues just like the friendly priesthood to little boys.

Let's just turn a blind eye, and go out and cheat again. Great morals for a catholic school. Crazy that the so-called leaders are corrupt.

Leave the kid from TX alone. Let the kid be a kid. He transferred from another reputable private school in NY. I don’t know his entire situation and neither do you.

So now we know what its really about, competition for playing time. As far as breaking the rules last year kid involved was a complete non factor, non impact player who rarely if ever saw the field, just a fact

its really funny reading all of this nonsense's
My son is a defenseman from Chaminade and he along with some of his classmates are good friends with St Anthonys lacrosse players. All they care about is playing college lacrosse. They all love the competition and most importantly they like each other. Lets get over the bitterness. Lets focus on how we can get every kid recruited. I know many kids from both sides great kids who will eventually will
play college lacrosse

BOTC stands for Bitterness Of The Century. It’s the motivation behind 99% of the posts. Parents only care about their kid winning. They don’t care about “corruption “ or bad priests. It’s because their kids team got beat and precious prince got smoked by another kid. Let’s not stand on soap boxes and try to paint another story. Own up to your jealousy and bitterness.

wow..... your green-eyed jealousy is amazing. They are a top 5 team year in year out on LI. Great catholic based education. Corruption ?????? Hmmm.....maybe you should go to your public school Board of Ed meetings and take a look at the lack of accounting of taxpayer $ going on there. Funny thing is.....the boys all get along from Chammy and the publics. Its the whining snowflake jealous parents that try to drive the negative narrative.

So because the kid transferred to another school for whatever reason, he shouldn't be play lacrosse for his high school ever again? You make no sense - you are just looking to bash St Anthony's and you are using the kid's situation to do it.

It's lost some value due to competing showcases. But not a waste. There was good talent and a lot of coaches there last summer.

Is it possible to attend a D3 school and just play ball if you pay the tuition. My son is destined to work with his hands and he can get that experience as an apprentice, but really loves to play ball. Cant find anything in the rule books on this anyone know the facts or anyone else who has gone this route. Thanks in advance.

Are you asking if you can simply pay tuition to a school, but have your son not attend classes, in order to qualify as a "student" in order to play NCAA lacrosse at said school??! For the love of God, please tell me I've misinterpreted your post . . .!
