The sad part for many club directors is money and ego/bragging rights. More focus needs to be placed on the development of their players, regardless of the age level, develop your players. If you don't have the coaches that can do it, find ones who will or just keep quite and hope for the best.

Enlighten us. Who are the coaches who continue to develop their players vs. just collecting talented players?

. Ask around, see what clubs work with their players and which ones just recruit a player(s) for the short term. You need to enlighten yourself. You seem to have an attitude.

It appeared that only the Crabs and API from last year did a poor job developing their players.(not to say they are not very good teams) Being around the club scene for a while now I would say all the clubs do a good job developing players. It is very clear to see which teams get better year to year and even from start to finish in a season. EVERY single club does some sort of recruiting every year to better their overall team. This is perfectly normal behavior for any level of any sport. If a player doesn't feel he is being developed than most likely they will leave which is also perfectly ok. This also happens at the REC level across the country. I don't get how people come on here bashing clubs , coaches, leagues that you signed up for. Signed up knowing exactly what the rules and guidelines are. If you want your kid to play at the ELITE or AA level then this is the landscape for now.(until USL changes their age dates again or USL and club come to some unified agreement for all to play by) Until then there is at least a dozen of grade or age base teams to play on this year. HOCO has Elite,AA,A,B,C and also has age group teams for those so sensitive to the cause. The majority of Clubs including the 2 mentioned before have some of the best coaching and staff in all of lacrosse.(at least on paper) All clubs have ALL American , Pro, High School, College coaches working with their players. Thus the business side of this , if you want to coach your kid still and feel he is being treated unfairly and as a Parent you didn't really know what you signed up for then there is a ton of Rec organizations that do a great job with young players. If you only want to spew negativity along with all the other parents on here that feel slighted or cheated because they signed up for something they shouldn't have, this site should set up a cry baby page and leave this one to those that do care or don't care about holdbacks, ego, bragging rights, club bashing, coach bashing, smart [lacrosse] parents that comment anonymously like tough guys.
What is sad is parents complaining about something they know full well and still signed up for. Do you expect sympathy or to actually take your comments seriously when you clearly are not smart enough to know what you signed up for.

Clubs can't spend the time developing players you kool aid drinker... they have to win and work on team plays and such. Wins gets kids to tryouts. The good kids have natural talent and size at this age. They also work on their own. Clubs don't develop anything more than marketing materials and uniforms. Parents develop kids and coaches help in small pieces. Clubs, collect money and pay bills. 90% of club coaches success comes from recruiting the best kids, not developing them. In HS and college they develop.

Hawks have one more tryout this Sun.

Rumors of 2022 Koopers jumping up to Elite bracket as the 2022 eligible players from 2021 will likely play with 2022s during spring and 2021s during summer.

Wrong. Koopers will have two 2022 teams. Their original 2022 team, and then a new 2022 team made up of the 2021 players as well as kids from Philly and other places.

Exactly...no one cares Mark if your team is lock and loaded! Your post on Instagram was ridiculous and aimed at the players that left! They are the true leaders for leaving your team and not standing up to your bullying and abusive behavior anymore! Hope more follow their lead.

Really Mac, promoting yourself! You are not the best attack in the country! Your are selfish and a ball hog. Daddy sets every play up so you get the ball and can attempt to score with your horrible sidearm shot. The team would have done much better if you learned to pass the ball and be a team player not a self promoter!

LOL. OK. Guess you didn't notice the crew of kids from Philly and other programs at Saturdays tryout. It's a separate team. Guess you weren't invited to the invitation only team.

No. There will be a second team that apparently they haven't told the existing 2022 parents about. It will be a combination of the 2022 kids that play on Koopers 21 and other kids from the Dukes National Team. They will be playing in HOCO as Dukes Nationals apparently. Those same kids will play as a second Koopers 2022 team in the summer.

Koopers plays their kids up not down. I would be surprised if the 2022s drop down unless they want to make a statement to the holdback clubs that they are not nearly as good as they think they are. Or maybe the 2022s want to play in the spring. In any case, kudos to them- thats the best group of 2022s I've seen.

Has anyone seen Koopers play all eligible 2022s as 2022s?

Their 2021 is ok, their 2022 is not very good, so how can you say they are the best group of 2022s?

It will be great to see them play their best 2022 kids this spring to see how good they really are. They will be vastly improved with a goalie, two attack, 1 defender playing on age as well as another defender reclassing.

Best you've ever seen. You can't be serious. 2022 Koopers team ? Or Dukes team ? Neither are the best team at the age group. Lets all remember Dukes National team is made up of some of the best players from many teams. An ALL STAR team. If any of the other top teams at this age group decide to let their players try out for Dukes or put their own ALL STAR team together it wouldnt even be close. Most of the players won't have a spot on that team.
Good luck to both teams because they will need it to play against the top teams .

Dukes Nationals have killed the best teams, and I think they will continue to do so. Those kids play together once a month, and from what I understand, It's next to impossible to have all of their top players together for a single game or tourney. Those kids have skill, heart, work ethic and lax IQ. More importantly, they look like they have a ton of fun and exude good sportsmanship to our players when they played them. I've seen them play, as well as other top teams this summer and last summer. I assume they will keep getting better too. You gotta give them credit even though it's hard to admit.

DN have not killed the best teams. They had one good tournament this summer beat Hawks at nap town. Lost to Express in Boston with the same team that played in Annapolis. Also played up in tournament NY playing up 2021 went 1-3 Lot of new kids and parents trying hype DN like is the greatest team ever. Minicamps are good tournament teams ok and yes my son has played on DN for the last 2 years. It's extra lacrosse for kids that want more than just their Maryland club.

I don't understand why it matters so much being on the "best team". The top 10 Teams(18-22 players) in the country are 1-3 players away from shifting 5 spots on the competitive totem pole. Played in many games in my career and got smoked, or crushed another team for no great reason. Good days/Bad days. Won games that should have been lost and lost games that should have been won. The whole bragging rights argument at 2022 is kind of insane. If you are not winning, you should be learning. What is the coaching like? Does your son love his teammates? Is your kid having fun and being inspired to be a great player in the future? If you have great coaching and your son is a better player at the end of the season than they were at the beginning, and cant wait to get back on the field and play again, the whole status thing is kind of just for the parents. I'm seeing so many kids these days willing to jump on a team and ride the pine, just so the player and parents can say they play for Team "XXX" and wear a T-shirt around? I would rather see my kid play a lot, preferably through some adversity and challenge the team and players to become better. That is player/team development, not just a contest of who can recruit the top talent from a 200 mile radius and win games. That's just a popularity contest and if you want to see how that works out, just go compare some current pictures to the yearbook pictures of the girls you thought were smokin hot back in High School!

If you have been on the team for 2 years then you know that the team that lost by a goal to Express in Boston was not even close to the team that hammered Hawks and Express in the last month. There has been a lot of turnover on DN in the last 6 months and many kids that were on the team 2 years ago are either gone or sitting the bench.

The line up changes every time Dukes Nationals plays. Generally, if they have the Koopers 2021 kids, they kick but. Otherwise they are just ok.
