Duke's did another beat down today to Long Island Express 10-3 . Hawks was 10-4 .... It was 12-3 So what? It is 8th grade lacrosse and it is irrelevant. What recruiting tournaments are 2022 Dukes Nationals team gonna play in when the boys are in 9th and 10th grade? Answer is zero. All of the best clubs play in the same recruiting tourneys. You think a kid from Crabs, Team 91, or better yet the Dukes HS team is gonna be allowed to play for DN in the same tourney? But hey, keeping track of 8th grade lacrosse scores is thing to do now I guess First off, what a [lacrosse]. Secondly, God forbid that a bunch of really good players get together once a month and actually have fun playing together. Their minicamps are a great 3 hours of lacrosse and worth the small fee alone. And to be able to step on the field and win against the teams they play without real practices is a testament to those kids and coaches. Stop hating on these kids. You have no idea what tournaments they will play in come high school. There are things in motion to keep these kids together. So you can spout all the nonsense you want Hawks dad. Get used to your beatings. Not a Hawks dad, but you sir are an [lacrosse].

So less than 20 kids showed up for 91 tryouts. And a bunch of kids have left again including 2 coaches and their sons.
What is going on there? Bad weekend for tryouts. People on vacations. Nope...people are finally sick of MM and his abusive crazy behavior!

Dukes will roll into HS years just like they do now... Coach Ebe and his group takes them 9-12. Every kid on that 2022 team will have the chance to go on to play in college someday IF that is what they decide they want to do. They will also continue to have opportunities to play with their home clubs and other teams, just like they do now. Its pretty simple... good kids, that CAN play good lacrosse, getting together to play GOOD lacrosse. Kids are property, they are kids. If you don't like the Dukes, don't play for them. Brag if you beat them, and whine when you lose. Its your life pal. Today, and right now, that is one heck of group of kids and one heck of a talented lacrosse team.

I'm not sure I see the point of a Dukes Nationals if you're in Maryland, PA or NY. There are many options with quality coaching and connections for talented players with passion to learn, improve and get recruited in the HS years. I'm not doubting that these guys provide solid instruction at these "camps" and can aggregate some talent for tournament play. But if your kid is on a competitive AA team, he's playing year round as it is. I can't imagine trekking up to Long Island on one of the few summer weekends when the main club is not playing. Only to start the whole thing again with August tryouts. And for NCAA hopefuls in HS, they'll be doing showcases, prospect days, Under Armour tryouts...Burn out is real. I've seen it.

The Duke's Nationals youth program follows the same model. The Duke's college recruiting history will speak for itself. As crazy as the college recruiting process is in this era, the college coaches will flock to where the top athletes are FIRST and aggressively. I know that this is a hate blog but just selfishly think about it as a parent.

As a parents of a kid who plays on DN it's extra lacrosse for him. Been playing for DN now almost 2 years. Been to just about every minicamp and tournament. Philly,Boston,Connecticut,Maryland,NY Long Island etc. The team does change from tournament to tournament but there is a core group of kids that has not. Don't put to much into the travel line BS. It's not follow by the coaches. My kid has been ranked 1 and low as 6 and still is on the travel line somewhere in between. I have seen kids come in and start that have never been to a minicamp. It is what it is. Most know that going into it. Minicamps are good. Tournaments are ok. Not for everyone if you want to travel meet and play with new kids check it out.

This all started when the Hawks dad decided to talk crap about API by implying that Dukes mainly made up of API kids. This may have been the case a year ago but isn't anymore. 1st week of tryouts - poor attendance at 91MD (Texas attendance many have been higher to offset) - strong attendance at RR (six 91MD helmets spotted)

The Dukes 2022 are nothing without the Koopers 2021 players. Who are 2022 kids. What's your point? Not on-age 2022 kids. Whatever. There are fewer holdbacks on the Dukes 2022 team than on Crabs, FCA or Hawks. That is just pure BS, yep simply BS. The only team that comes close to Dukes 2022 in holdbacks is Hawks. Wait until next season, or maybe this fall when Hawks has quite a few 2021's dropping down to 2022. Hawks is going all in on loading teams with older kids. Known fact throughout the lax community. You are STUPID. Already looking for an excuse for the coming season. Too funny No excuses needed. These teams, Hawks, FCA, crabs, Bethesda, etc... play in the 2022 graduation year league and tournaments. No one is breaking rules (unless there are upcoming 2021s playing on 2022 teams), so enough with the crying about hold backs. If your moral high road doesn't agree with the graduation year model, then have your son play in only age based leagues and tournaments. And if you don't think you can find any, grab the situational bull and start one. With all the crying about hold backs on these links, I am sure you will have to beat the kids and teams away.

Not stupid at all. Why would they announce coaches for a b team on their website if they didn't have a bunch of older kids ready to bump their currrent a player's down?

No one is looking for an excuse for this fall or next season, just putting the truth out there. Live with it and knock off the denial.

Not stupid at all. Why would they announce coaches for a b team on their website if they didn't have a bunch of older kids ready to bump their currrent a player's down? it's actually simple, you count the number of kids trying out at each level and decide if you have enough players for two teams, then you get coaches for a black and green team, that way if kids want to stay in your organization, you aren't scrambling around at the last minute trying to field a second team. the hawks have had two teams at various grades for the past few years, it's nothing new

So who will be the most improved team this year and what team drops off?
1st week of tryouts - poor attendance at 91MD (Texas attendance many have been higher to offset) - strong attendance at RR (six 91MD helmets spotted) MM is going to have to fly in a lot more kids from Texas and probably the new Team 91 NC this year since he has lost at least 6 of his players and everyone is realizing what a lunatic he is!!!

If you are born before Sept. 1, you should be going into 9 th grade. If you repeated for academic reasons and are still in 8 grade you should be playing up in lacrosse. Pretty simple.
