Looking for some real info.. not fake news or sarcasm please... What do each of the LI clubs charge for tryouts and tuition? Specifically Liberty, TG, YJ, Elevate, Jesters, Igloo, Legacy? I wouid like to think this site is good for something other than sillines. Thank you in advance to those who can give some true info!

Elite was the only Maryland team that went to the National Championship this year. It'll be interesting to see which Maryland teams go next year to Delaware.

While that is expensive for a tryout, they post exactly what you get and exactly what it costs on their home page. Which is more than I can say for most clubs. It's exhausting trying to find out how much clubs charge before you waste money trying out. I wish they'd all just post what you get and for how much!

Not expensive. All relative. Most deduct try out fee from tuition dues.

Will the YJ have a 3rd team for next season? They will be lucky to have one team after all the good girls disperse to TG and Igloo. If I was a bottom tier player on either one of those teams, I'd be worried!

The starting girls aren't leaving YJ for TG or Igloo as they played endlessly...to a fault perhaps...but still endlessly. No reason for them to go anywhere. It is those that are very good that should have played more that have reason to think about it. There are some that are best suited for a B team in any organization that will likely ask to go to YJ Wright to get a better experience. Only 2 have left YJA over last couple years...one to TG and one to Leg. One other went to TG and another to Leg after making YJA. As has been said by many, if you are not happy, there are other teams to go to. With 1 goal sperating these teams in "most" games, ...the other options are not that much better. They say that grass is greener on the other side. I've looked at the other side of grass and it is basically the same color. Once again...these verbal battles will be decided on the field. Igloo wins the Nationals and looked good. TG beat Igloo 4 out of 5. YJ wins Lax for Cure that included MD teams (regardless of bracket). None had a horrible season and none went undefeated. All will make for good games. Being on any of these 3 teams and add YJB to make the 4 top teams on the Island. The rest are...well...the rest.

Now, since people are finally in agreement that there are several competitive teams in this age group, how about we have these teams start scrimmaging on a regular basis instead of training on there own. That would be huge in getting all the girls better. That's what they do in MD

That's what they do in MD In theory it would be a great to see all of these teams playing against each other, developing and not having to travel but in reality it will never happen. Poaching of players is very real and the above listed clubs are terrified of losing their top players to another club. After the YJ/TG game it was interesting to see the parents of the two clubs mingling as the directors of the clubs stood by to watch.

Those girls are receiving absolutely no coaching or development and the slide will continue unless drastic measures are taken. Anyone who watched the TG game could clearly see the lack of coaching, case in point TG went into a stall and one girl literally stood in place for minutes while nobody pressured the ball and not one peep from the sideline. Coaching staff looked like they had zero interest in the last half of that game. The talent is there unfortunately the girls won't benefit. Next summer the team will slip further because reality is nothing will be done and the girls that need to be moved down won't, better players who should see the field more won't and parents will continue to put up with this nonsense because it's oh so important to be part of yellow jacket blue.

Very generous ranking of the YJB as the 4th top team. I'm sure Leg, Jesters, Elevate and Liberty would all disagree.

You are making it seem that Igloo is unbeatable, They have 1 exceptional kid and a few other talented players. TG beat them and also lost to them. Plus igloo has not traveled to big tourneys to play NJ and MD top teams

I have been reading all these threads and the one thing I never see or hear about are the goalies for these teams. Of all these Long Island teams, does one team have better goalies than the other?

Plus igloo has not traveled to big tourneys to play NJ and MD top teams Yeah, that is funny. So the usual balance would be YJ at any age group would attrack 6-8 of the top 10 kids on the island. Now you have them spread out with 2-4 on several different teams. This is why LI can't compete with MD teams at this age group. I saw all three of these teams play this weekend and not one of them has a full strong line up. All had multiple glaring holes, even on the starting lines. I like the idea of balance and options of multiple clubs, but it is at the expense of Long Island lax representing. You all should get together and pick one club and all go there, starting to get embarrassing for LI.

Coach is great. Taking her daughter to another program to be on age level. She is a 24. Team was very solid. Not igloo or top gun or others at the top but they were competitive. I think the coach leaving will split the team up.

Anyone with any sense of business or marketing would say "you're damn right!" You might prefer the taste of RC Cola but it will Never get the recognition or success of Coke or Pepsi. Fact. If you want to debate that it doesn't matter and showcases are everything, you have zero sense of business or marketing. And if your only goal is college recruiting, it is agreed...you better learn to market in addition to your club. If your goal is to have your daughter play with the top girls in their age, you play for a top club. If the goal is to be part of a fair team where everyone gets equal time and all get a participation ribbon, play somewhere else!

Totally agree. That's why Maryland has a handful of girls lacrosse teams of very talented girls. Some of the Long Island teams have multiple teams for the same age group, like Top Guns and Yellow Jackets. It's a money maker for them.
As far as Igloo, they did win the championship at the US Lacrosse Nationals last week in Virginia in the girls 2023 category. Top Guns lost in the quarterfinals to a PA team and Yellow Jackets lost 2x to Igloo.

How about the brilliant move to call for a stick check on TG, which failed. And resulted in a failed stick check on YJ (typical cheaters) results in a turnover and game over. Jackass coaching at it's best! TG laughed at that one!!

At the same time, you are admitting that the difference in that game was a failed stick check...not the teams. They are basically equal on the field. You just made that clear.
