I heard that API and MD United are merging. How will this affect the 2021s on both squads. That's a lot of girls.

API website said it's API-MDU merging. 2019-21s will stay separated this year but will combine 2018-19 under the MDU banner. Younger teams start combining this year.

To present the image of an equitable merger, the new combined team will need to include a minimum of at least 1/3 of former API girls. Unfortunately for them, it's doubtful it will happen. For whatever reason, be it politics or bad eyes for talent, they let good talent slip through their fingers. They'll probably screw this up too.

Most API girls would have a difficult time making a MD United solidified team. There lies the issue. API lacrosse is not necessarily merging with MD United, it's the API facility that is merging with MD United. There is a need for a few players at the 2024-2026 age group at MD United, however 2019's-2023's are going to be difficult teams to earn a roster spot on as these players/coaches have been playing together for some time. This could all be changed if MD United adds a 3rd team at each age group, but most likely that won't happen. There was a time when over 100+ girls would show up for tryouts for one age group, only to create 2 teams of 22 (44 girls) and send the rest (50-60) scrambling for another club to play with. I can guarantee Integrity is looking for more players, as well as some other start ups, such as Uproar, Naptown, Dark Horse, and heck even Rebels isn't too far away. Good luck to those girls and families who are scrambling. Hoping Finish Line Lacrosse can pick up the pieces of an extremely untimely "sever of ties."

Don't kid yourself. There are at least 5-6 API girls that could/should make MD United if they try out (that's assuming the tryouts are fair).

Then yes, I agree, assuming tryouts are fair of course. Keep in mind, their best players (API) have left to go elsewhere the past few years, hence the need to change ownership and merge.

Interesting comment. Considering that nearly all of the talent at this age is concentrated in central Maryland, being middle of the pack with a lot of room to improve is not a bad place to be. TLC played M&D, SW, Heros and Nems to close games this spring and summer. They will likely pick up a girl or two from the aforementioned teams and improve going into the fall.

Don't listen to the "nay-say-ers."! TLC is getting better at each age group. They have some work to do, major work, but will continue to improve. Everyone else, zip ur lip.! Let them be and let them try to make decisions to improve. It really is about coaching!!!

If that's all you guys have to hang your hats on you're really grasping for straws on a sinking ship.

They are still bitter the 2021 team and club was destroyed by the coaches, owners, and parents. They hide from the better teams traveling to and playing in 3rd tier tournaments and on here throwing bombs. Integrity parent ask yourself why don't we play any top team? Why do we travel so often when the best competition is in your backyard? M&D, Heros' and Skywalkers don't seems to have an issue playing each other, so your clubs excuse of we want to pay different teams really means we want to win a game.

Who's hiding? MDU is playing in NJ and FL this fall rather than the local tournaments with everyone else. The coaches must've finally got tired of getting crushed every weekend.

It is an interesting decision to leave a team where you are on the field much of the game and a major contributor; to join a team that is largely set, where playing time and contribution are unknown. This is almost a "better to trust the devil you know" scenario. Some players (and parents) want to be on what is perceived to be the best team, regardless of the cost. If the decision is based on the belief that you will improve more quickly on the new team vs the old team, I get it, especially now that the recruiting rules have changed. However, these is some risk involved. Improvement is great, but during the summer of '19, you need to be on the field and not on the bench.
