Looney's 2020 team is excellent, but none of their other teams are any good. none of the other teams are top 5 in the country, however quite a few are good teams.

And not everyone or for that matter no one wants to be associated with people like you, who seems to delight in trashing other clubs. How about if you have nothing good to say, stay out of it. This kind of back and forth is simply childish. Talk about lacrosse and not your opinion of other people. Bad things happen when that occurs. Also, there are many people that do not want to be on many different teams, happens all the time all through the lacrosse community. Everyone has a story to tell, true or not.

True. That liquored up dad is precisely why many families don't go to their tryouts. Plus I heard they actually fold teams.

Ok. I will take the challenge. My kid got cut. So now, in defense of the post stating "quite a few of the Looney's teams are good" - identify grade year, HoCo spring results, and tournament results, including division and opponent played.

Go ... name the team that kicked you out of the club...GO! I'm with the previous poster on this. One very good team, the rest same as every other club, plus wacko parents does not add up to a great club. For most kids, getting cut from a looneys team would be a blessing.

Let's examine:
Looney's 2017 - club folded the team and abandoned those kids when they were rising sophomores
Looney's 2018 - club folded the team and abandoned those kids when they were rising freshmen
Looney's 2019 - went 1-3 at IMLCA. Rest of schedule is 2nd tier events
Looney's 2020 - excellent. Arguably the best 2020 team in the nation
Looney's 2021 - 0-3 at IMLCA. Not going to Crabfeast. Rest of the schedule is 2nd events
Looney's 2022 - competed at Summer Exposure, a 2nd Tier tournament. Couldn't win the championship despite playing down in the lowest division possible. Rest of schedule is 2nd tier tournaments.
Looney's 2023 - won Trilogy Baltimore, a 3rd tier event. Rest of the schedule is one decent tournament and one 2nd tier tournament
Looney's 2024 - won Trilogy Baltimore, a 3rd tier event. Rest of the schedule is 2nd tier events
Looney's 2025 - 1-4 at Summer Exposure, a 2nd Tier tournament. Rest of the schedule is 2nd/3rd tier events.
I think the previous guy had it right. One great team, the rest are pretty bad.

What is pathetic is an adult, (assume you) just does all this research in order to trash youth teams and coming very close to belittling the kids on those teams. Sorry bud, you are just a pathetic individual and I don't know how your family can put up with such a person who lacks total character. You really need to spend more time with your son and getting him better in the sport, not doing this kind of useless crap. And to think everyone thought Ryan McClernan at Crabs was pathetic and the lowest you could get, well he is and you are right there with him, maybe different areas, but just as pathetic and disgusting. I know of the Looney's program, they are doing find in rebuilding and if they were so terrible why would the head coach of McDonogh, Andy H, be coaching in this program. You really need to look in the mirror and examine yourself, some real soul searching would really help.

Not sure how showing how the rest of the club is faring equates to "lacking total character".

Not sure how showing how the rest of the club is faring equates to "lacking total character". You lack character by almost trashing youth teams. You are degrading them by what level tournaments they are playing in and how they compete in said "lower level" tournaments. Not every kid playing lacrosse has the ability or the desire to play at a top level like the 2020 team, some just want to play and have fun. There are many clubs with b and even c teams, that is fine, let them play where their ability and desire to play dictates. But to come on here and start listing all the age groups of a individual club and start punching on them is too far over the top and is clearly uncalled for. Who cares what someone else said about their other age groups, if that is what they believe, so be it. But it's not yours or anyone else's job to start the list like you did and practically humiliate other kids on those teams. That, my friend, is the lack of character. If you don't understand this then I guess you never will. Just let those other kids play and have fun.

The fact that the Looneys dad's only material is, "Which club did you move to after being cut by Looney's" tells you all you need to know about that club.
The other guy gave simple facts about how the other teams are faring. Seems pretty obvious the club is mediocre outside of 2020.

First, no one really knows if that is a Looneys dad making that statement, could be anyone making an obvious response. Second, there is no one that I have seen that shows how the other teams are doing except compared to their 2020 teams. There are other clubs with various/several grade teams and not all or even any are winning everything. It seems the person who listed the so called performance of every Looneys team has an agenda, well beyond what he stated. This individual went way too far in almost trashing kids and their teams. That is the pathetic part of the delusional response.

Just a simple question, what club did they move to from looney that is so much better? Not many are as successful as Looney. Don't come on and blast a club without giving your opinion of what club is the shining example all others should live up to. Crabs overall more successful, FCA is debatable (on par), Hawks overall on par, 91 is new (have to see). What other club can compete as a whole? Each of the above clubs have their top teams and the rest are are middle of the pack in their respective ages.

Many Looneys Orange team do not play in the top division of HOCO and regularly play in lower level tournaments. The 23s were decent but have dropped since flat brim took kids with him to Crabs.

That is great if Looney's is working for you. I agree people are being jerks by making fun of Looney's food and the moms. But it's pretty obvious that while the 2020 team is awesome, the rest of the teams are not that great. He didn't bash any of the kids. It's perfectly ok if Looney's is providing a place for kids of all abilities to play. That is what clubs like Roughriders, Wolfpack, Greene Turtle and others are doing. Settle down, dad.

If someone wants to bash a club because they moved on, then he should site his example of a more successful club, otherwise they are just bashing. Yes, FCA is on par with Looney.

If the coaches and team chemistry are driving your kid to be a better player, who cares about anything else.

The fact that the Looneys dad's only material is, "Which club did you move to after being cut by Looney's" tells you all you need to know about that club.
The other guy gave simple facts about how the other teams are faring. Seems pretty obvious the club is mediocre outside of 2020. The fact that the Looneys dad's only material is, "Which club did you move to after being cut by Looney's" tells you all you need to know about that club.
The other guy gave simple facts about how the other teams are faring. Seems pretty obvious the club is mediocre outside of 2020. The guy posted how each Looney's team was faring this summer because a Looney's dad said the entire club is great. He gave objective statements about records and tournaments (and I looked at the Looney's schedule and his thoughts are very fair. Most of those tournaments are not very good. Here's a thought, maybe it's not always about winning. Maybe other factors are involved. I hate to break it to you, not everyone wants to play top 5 D1. If the coaches and team chemistry are driving your kid to be a better player, who cares about anything else. I agree that not every club is focused on winning/college recruiting and there is nothing wrong with that. The other guy was just pointing out that the Looneys 2020 team is an aberration compared to the rest of the club. Nothing wrong if Looney's wants to be more like Wolfpack/Rock than Crabs/FCA.

How is Looneys on par with FCA?
2018: FCA - Top 10 team nationally Looneys - Folded team
2019: FCA - One of top 10 in country Looneys - Plays in B tournaments
2020: Both teams are top 5 in country
2021: FCA - not great but finished 3-3 in HOCO elite divison including a 18-7 win over Looneys Looneys - Finished 0-6 in HOCO including above loss to FCA
2022: FCA - Slow start but finished HOCO elite season with wins over Crabs, BLC and Diamondbacks Looneys - Played in AA division losing in first round of playoffs. Also lost to Lax World in Koopers league playoffs.
2023: FCA - Finished 4-2 in HOCO including win over Looneys Looneys - Finished 4-2 with loss to FCA
You're right. Looks about even to me too.
Cue Looneys dad saying how I shouldn't post this. I know you guys don't like facts about your club posted here.

My friend, you really need more tings to do to fill your day. This is just spinning. If you really like to do this sort of thing, how abut doing some digging and see how many kids(parents) Ryan McClernan has convenience to repeat a year, either 6th or 7th grade. You and many others would be shocked at the number. Of course this repeat a year is served up with a large amount of BS from RM on how he will make your son a total lax standout. If you really want to know what this individual is like go talk to his current players, 2021 and ask them what they are going to do if RM does not move to the 2022's next year. RM always moves to the 8th graders but this year Crabs 2022 team is weak and RM has announced he is staying with the 2021's. What RM is going to find is that most of those 2021's are going to leave Crabs for other clubs. This is no bs or rumor, I know 5 kids on that team and they will leave. They hate playing for RM, like most of his players do, but they aren't hanging around. It will be interesting to see how RM handles or at the very least tries to manage this.

Are you new to Baltimore club lacrosse? FCA starting several years ago crushed both Looneys and Green Turtle lacrosse. The FCA 2017, 18, and 19 clubs took all of the good players from both of those programs. The guy that rants about Looneys folding their teams has forgotten that they had no choice. I don't think they had enough players to field a 17 and 18 team after the FCA carnage. If you want to be mad at something, be mad at FCA lacrosse.

To make it worse, FCA parents were taking credit for the 2020 Looney's win over Crush last week on the overall 2020 forum. Said they wore out the Crush team in the semi's. Like Looney's didn't just have a hard-fought 1-point Crabs game in the semi's at the exact same time. FCA are the worst bunch of fake mission creeps in this sport.

They were up front with the players and told them early what was happening so as to give them a chance and time to find another club. They simply did not have enough players to field a competitive 2017 or 2018 team. This has been discussed many many times on this board but there are still some individuals with, it seems, an ax to grind and keep bringing up how Looney's just folded these two teams. Everything that I have heard is that Looney's did the right thing and the best they could for these players. Some need to get past this, it happened maybe 3 or 4 years ago, maybe a little longer.

Kinda weird how the Looneys dads keep bringing up the Crabs. I get the envy, but you should get some new material. I'm not a Crab fan, but not sure what they have to do with the current state of the looneys.
Crabs having a harder time fielding top teams below the 8th grade level, but their 8th-11th grade teams are always top notch. Can't say the same for Looney's.

Crabs middle school teams usually just average. Between holdbacks kicking in in 8th grade and poaching kids from other teams they are always strong when HS rolls around. Their teams don't get better, they get remade at the expense of current players and other teams.

It was their 2017 and 2018 team. It happened 2 years ago, not 4 years ago. In the prime of their recruiting season, they abandoned the kids. Neither team was very good, but they had enough bodies, but didn't want to invest any time in those kids whose families had written checks for years. Makes you wonder if they'll do the same thing to the kids on the current mediocre Looneys teams.
