'Quot is done, will not be good next year because this Coach can not develop the talent he has. His team is stagnant because his abilities are stagnant and because he is dividing his time and attention between his team and his side business.

I agree with you on the coaching, but they will be good next year, just dont think the coaching will get them over the top. Assistants really running the show at Quot, they are very good but HC is a joke. Had a solid core of players that were not developed by HS program (at all) last year (2016), have many seniors back next year (2018) that are pretty good (again, not developed by HS program at all). Never built a program there. Its a shame, because he had the kids to build on and a solid youth program, but abandoned it. Also, you cant win the big ones when you only play six kids on offense and don't develop any defense. Cant ask your offense to score 15 goals a game in order to win especially against the top teams. I know a lot of the Quot parents are drinking the punch right now but its time for a change there. May seem premature to some but it could salvage the program before its too late. If not the program will be dead after next year.

There are so many good lacrosse players on Long Island that winning depends on coaching. Quot was good this year and will be good next year - Just not the top team. Coaching is key. Quot has not had a defensive coach in a few years - and like you said you can't ask your offense to score 15 goals a game in order to win - even with a good goalie. Holding the ball on offense in a real game doesn't cut it. Coming from a parent who's son played - I can't say I know of many players that respect or like playing for the HC but the season is over and it's time to move on to summer ball. Rumor has it he would like to leave after next year anyway to coach in his kids district. Good luck to the top four coaches and teams of Suffolk. Should be some good games tonight.

Locust Valley, CSH, and Oyster Bay didn't play last night. Syosset tries to be North Shore but it would have to relocate north of 25A

LV did play last night . . . unfortunately! Could they win more than 1 faceoff all night??!

Lynbrook dominates X vs LV. Best team on LI stands in the way of another county ship.

Dominating a non-FOGO all night at the X - that's an accomplishment! Next week, the domination will be reversed and the score will reflect the laugher that game will be.

What unfortunate event caused the Syosset goalie to be suspended? It wasn't bad fortune it was a bad decision!

You are joking. If he got hurt that would have been unfortunate. He made a very stupid decision that got him thrown off the team and let his whole team down. All the other players hard work and effort just down the drain. I feel that if he were in the game he would have had saved 1 or 2 of those goals. Come on the coach put in the 4th string goalie who is a defender to play the end of game. What was he thinking. I don't think coaches know how to handle goalies. Maybe if the coach had put in some of the other goalies in a bit more during the season they wouldn't have been so nervous. Goalie is a confidence position and coaches need to learn how to manage them better. Throwing goalies into a game where the season is on the line but you didn't get them in during regular season games how are you developing them. You actually set them up for failure in the game that meant the most for your team. Good job coach C!!!!!

didn't know i should should feel bad for a team because they don't have a "FOGO", are you serious? they didn't get this far without kids that can face-off. Give credit to EP he had an outstanding game. As far as CSH goes, it was stated "Best team on LI" referring to CSH, no denying they are The Best team around.

Coach C should have set an example with the other kids who were less significant throughout out the year. Same unfortunate incident occurred numerous times but Coach C probably recieved gift$ of some sort to look the other way. The lacrosse culture in Syo is simple " You get what you pay for" and the players are all over hyped punks riding on the coat tails of their previous team mates. Next up will be the Igloo culture of entitlement because Coach C is a paid director. Imagine 3 Igloo 8th graders brought up to V for playoffs but a recent college All Anerican wasn't at that same age and not one of those kids could carry his jock in the 8th grade. PAY 2 PLAY ! Should be on next year shooter just tell Coach C to translate it into Latin.

I'm assuming, when referring to "they", you are referring to all coaches in HS lacrosse. If you read the statement, it is ridiculous. What coach in his right mind, during any close or competitive game, would put in the 2nd goalie to get their confidence up. That should have been enforce in PAL and club. FYI, all goalies this season had a lot of play time. This isn't PAL, this isn't club, this is high school and the goal is to win. Obviously, the coach felt that the starting goalie, in this game, was not comfortable, the backup let up 2 quick goals, as for the defender who went in, player should be commended, few players in lacrosse have the nads to step up as he did. Coaches have to work with what they have and this program needs to be overhauled starting at the PAL level to have a stronger deeper line in several positions at the HS level. Less parent involvement, less political BS and maybe more of the good players would have continue to play the game.

How about maybe offense to score more goals!!! Maybe the coaches should have made adjustment to farmingdale defense. Nope they don't do that. It's same reason why they can't we state title! Have the talent but poorly coached. When the possession is in your end of the field most of the game it is hard to keep the ball out of the net!

Syosset did not lose because of the goalie or poor play by any individual but more by burn out. Body language and emotion were lacking until late in the game. The defense showed how great they can be in the fourth with shut down plays and turnovers. The offense played with urgency and great individual plays started by domination at face offs but they lost from a few bad bounces and good plays by farmingdale
At the end of the game no players were crying, only the parents That is because the parents care more then the kids which is dangerous

LV won less than 50% at the X (a lot less than 50% in many cases) all season long, so, "yes", they did get where they did without a kid that could face off. That fact is that this something that has plagued this team since after 2014, and has kept them from winning big games, especially in the playoffs. Nobody said to feel bad for them, just that every team they faced all season long dominated them at the X, so what happened Wednesday night at the X wasn't special.

Coming from an ex-goalie and goalie coach for over thirty years I can tell you that you are dead right on your statement. Playing the position requires absolute confidence in yourself and that your coach is one hundred percent behind you. So many head coaches do not understand the position and do not realize the importance of a solid CORE of goalies. You need to have two goalies ready to play at all times. Making sure TWO goalies are ready to go requires coaching and a lot of mental preparation especially for goalie #2. The hardest thing to do for any player in the game is lacrosse is to be the #2 or #3 goalie and come in to a game. Time needs to be given to these goalies in game situations at any time possible and coaching them at practice to keep them up is vital. So many head coaches do not understand this and I have seen it kill teams time and time again at the HS level and college level as well.

BWAHAHAHA is that a joke, I can see Sayville in an uproar now. Wish Doller would have went to my town, maybe they woudlnt have lost so many 2021's and saw a few that left prior come back. Think Doller would have been good for SJB too

some of your points are valid but you are missing the biggest part of the equation, Talent.

The two positions that are rarely if ever coached in HS is fogo and goalie and they are arguably the two most important positions on the team (especially if they are not good). Fogo's and Goalies get all of their coaching from private trainers not from their HS coaches that usually do not have the time or skill set to properly coach those skills.

It does not matter how much confidence a kid has if he does not have ability. It is easy on BOTC to say a team should have two capable goalies but how many public's have 2 quality goalies, 2 quality fogo's, two quality lefty attack ect ect. even at the privates (St A and Chammy) that get one great goalie after another and most years send two or three goalies per grade to play in college you still do not see anything near equal playing time, they are just like every other team that plays one goalie 90% of the time. and in college it is worse.

Last years team was far better than this years team but coaching was not there. Defense was far better last year and so was goal-tending. Not from the district but judging by last years team and prior years they need to make a coaching change or it will be over for them. What district is th HC's son in? Does anyone know?

He want to go there so he can get his little one PT he doesn't deserve. Started a whole club for that reason (and the extra coin of course). Just bad stuff all around. Coach, please don't ruin our hometown too!

So many head coaches do not understand this and I have seen it kill teams time and time again at the HS level and college level as well.

some of your points are valid but you are missing the biggest part of the equation, Talent.

So let's use Syosset as an example. They had 8 games where the won by 5 or more goals. Some by 8 or more. You have 3 full-time goalies on the team. Who have dedicated themselves to the position. Getting shot on every day in practice. You have your starter and every day he steps in the net he risks injury. So as a coach you don't prepare your back ups? I would say that's horrible coaching. You need to make sure your goalies are ready especially if your starter goes down. Any opportunity you get you get your back up in. It's not like you can't put your starter back in if it starts to get close. Coaches have no clue how to handle goalies. Unless they were a goalie themselves.

You are so right getting in games that are blow outs don't help your goalies either. They have to feel the pressure just like the starter.

Syosset is a town with the most douches per square mile than any other. That's a fact.

Whatever you say PAL.

The difference is though that Syo Lax kids end up at Ivy League and other highly competitive universities, while your town's lax players end up at Nassau. I guess that's ok considering that you only need a degree from Nassau to get a civil service job. Oh, and don't point to the bogus service academy commits from your school that mysteriously end up at Nassau.

Also, let's not forget that Syo won Nassau A in 2015 and 2016 and LIC in 2015, were those teams overrated as well? Actually, they were massively underrated in 2015. Just as your friends at MSG Varsity. Syo steamrolled Pequa and SE...

Good luck loosing to WM next week.

I predict that Nassau CC will be very strong next year as the Massapequa pipeline is really flowing.

You are an idiot. Under Doller more kids quit playing lacrosse than actually graduated. The team is twice the size since he left. You have no idea what you are talking about. And no way is the c'quot coach getting the Sayville job.

That statement is absolutely false. Kids NEVER quit. I tried to but Coach Doller didnt let me and a year later I was all county and we won county championship. So hard to watch and listen to this garbage. Facts: Coach Doller started this program and was the life of this program. ..he involved every kid from kindergarten to former players...every graduate of coach Dollers teams would run through walls for him and the Sayville program. That has ended. We were a revered program that was emulated. NOW it's just another suffolk team. We took on the personality of our coach, dedicated, tough, persistent and knowledgeable. Sayville lacrosse will NEVER be the same
I know he's at farmingdale college but, can we get him back? Would he come back?

The sayville team could have 50 kids on it and still will never play like and have the heart we had. We played with passion and heart bc Coach Doller coached us like that. I did not see that in one game the past 2 seasons. My college coach went to see sayville play and said "that is NOT a sayville team, what happened "? College coaches will not be getting the same kids they once expected from Sayville

You're talking like the job is open. Sayville already has a coach.
