... speaking of Duke recruits - Hills West just got smoked by a Harborfields D w no commits Yup.... A little Long Island "Home Cookin" on those recruits. Not too hard to connect the dots. East Meadow pride runs deep! Plus TR is mailing it in these days, Looking for his next gig. St. Dominick's maybe? TR is not mailing it in. He's a great coach. He can only do so much with the talent he has. Just because a player is committed doesn't mean there are not better players out there that are not committed. We do know that many commits (not all) are about who you know not how you play. TR has great coaches working with his team and is 100% commited to his program. It's amazing that when a program that has a great coach but doesn't have good players and coach is to blame. You can't get blood from a stone. It's his 2nd year there. There are many schools that would live to have TR as a coach. So many of these commits are just not as good as they are hyped up to be. They might have been bigger and faster in 9th or 10th grade because they were more mature physically or had better stick skills because they were trained well by dad at an early age. Eventually kida catch up physically, athletically, and skills wise. Take them away from their club team where they are surrounded by other great players they are just average on their own. What PR Agency wrote this? So wrong on so many points.

Leave a program right after your marque player graduates. Port knows all about this with TR. Pathetic. Next Stop St. Dominick's!

SWR 18 HHHW 5 I guess SWR has a LOT more talented kids. .... And a better coaching staff. Is it true that HHHW nice down a division and are 0-4? Seriously?

The time that Rooney puts in is way more than the previous coaching staff committed to. They also started doing year round training for the first time last year. They have several kids who were on the 9d1 team that won the World Series of Lacrosse, so they have a higher number of players committed, but don't have the depth. One of the Duke commits is still rehabbing an injury, and isn't 100%, another D1 commit is out with a Shoulder injury. I'm shocked at their performance this year based on what I have seen TR work on over the winter. They are putting in extra time on the practice field trying to figure things out, and make up for the injuries. He is not mailing it in, and the same goes for the rest of the staff. My kid doesn't play for him yet, but is looking forward to it in the future.

Smithtown East is back on top. Dominating West toady, who looked quite unimpressive. They got off to a slow start without their star attackman, but now are now ready to take on anyone. Season is about to get interesting!

I didn't hear you say anything about the defense, or lack thereof. Try class C next year. Oh, and I guess you are moving closer to St. Dominick's next year, to get TR coaching. Cool!

Coming off a 2 game losing streak SWR sticks it to HHHW by the score of 18-5. SWR player scores 6. Gotta get those stats up?
Not as bad as the Smithtown East game against Middle Country (where their player scored 8), but it seems like the coaches just don't get it.
Ever hear of respecting the game? How about letting the other end the bench play?
Do these coaches have something to prove? Some kind of agenda.
I fully expect that when GC plays SWR and is up by 10; the GC underclassmen with be carrying the load late in the game.

How many underclassman played for each team? Since the game is over I can confidently say West has a stronger future.

Bad coaching. I watched them play yesterday against my son's team and they are a lot better than there record. Very good defense, their goalie made a lot of saves standing on his head, but there looked like a discord between the offense and defense. At this level you are only going to win so many games relying on our defense.

Very good defense, solid face-off and their goalie made a lot of saves standing on his head to keep them in the game, but there looked like a discord between the offense and defense. The offense wasn't that impressive. A lot of standing around and guys trying to just back defenders down. At this level you aren't going to win to many games.

With Smithtown East's full roster of D1 commits that dominance should have been much more impressive than 7-5, don't you think? Especially if you say West was not playing at their best.

It always seems like a team doesn't play at their best when they play better competition. They have a decent team, just not a contender. The fogo was impressive, reminded me of the game 3 years ago when west was the team to beat the east sophomore came out and won all the face offs. Difference is that this time the better team won without getting possessions, so it became a no factor.

And, who cares how many D 1 commits a team has when it's a cross town rival playing against kids who have known each other and played together for over 10 years. Tough game for either team to lose. Good fight by both teams.

Well, hears my prediction...Dalers over Pequa 10-7... Perhaps, but Massapequa played a very good Smithtown East team losing 10-9, game went down to the wire. We shall see, I predict Massapequa 12-Farmingdale 9. Faceoffs will be a huge factor.

While CSH vs. Huntington was more exciting than anticipated, not the best lacrosse. Looked to me like CSH exhaled after big non-league games vs. out of regions foes. No horse in the race, but I was expecting this game to be more lopsided. Huntington was spunky.
