Chaminade by far the hardest schedule with St A's number two - public schools play have too many cupcakes on the schedule Not really their fault though. The public schools have a limited number of open OOC slots.

can't we all just get along and talk about what we all have in common instead of our differences? like trashing Baltimore, trashing reclassification and trashing Port Washington?
Port Washington, the Garden City of the new millennium. My complaint about Port Washington: Everyone refers to the school as "Schreiber" (the name of the high school) but the athletic teams as "Port." It doesn't make any sense. Really? That's your issue??! I think it might have been a snarky reply to the original joke post. I also think the moderators need to do some extreme vetting on sarcastic posts so the common folk can understand. Personally I hate that Port/Schreiber is so far north that it takes forever to get there. Yes, but there is a Smash Burger 20 feet from the field. What's better than that. Take a nice drive up Searingtown Rd, get a burger and then watch ur HS Team thrash PW, Err Schreiber. That's a great afternoon.

Publics play their conference. Good way to judge is who are they playing in their Non-League games. Are they challenging themselves? I'm in Nassau, so not too familiar with Suffolk conferences. Seems like Syosset and Farmingdale have some relatively light non-league games. GC, Pequa & Manhassett all put Catholics & strong out of county teams on their schedule.

Pretty simple - GCHS coach makes(strongly recommends) his players play for the GC club program. The teams never play the best Express or 91 teams or other top clubs for that matter. The GC teams typically have a decent first 10 but no depth. The best players are not fighting for playing time. They are not playing against the top players. GC has been doing this for 5 or so years and the GCHS program has faltered. It is similar to W. Islip. Both schools remain competitive but clearly not as dominate as they have been. Both schools will always compete at the high school level due to the strong youth programs but can't compete at the club level. Early recruiting makes this model pretty difficult to succeed as clubs will continue to grab the best players and the early commits leaving the town kids out to hang. The only folks that care more about club ball are the ones who do not have a strong high school program. Will anyone care how many t-shirts they won during the bloated summer season 10 years from now? Or will they remember for the rest of their lives the County, Island and possibly State championship they won with their classmates representing their town and high school. As for recruiting, there are quite a few early commits coming out of GC for this group. Move along. Dude, the travel programs make the kids better because they see and play against the best regularly. The kids may value the HS achievements more, but travel makes them better!

I think Pequa, Farmingdale, SWR and Syosset have comparatively week schedules.
Since Smithtown East, West And Ward Melville essentially play the same schedules they basically beat up on each other. Looks like Smithtown West plays the tougher of those three with GC and CSH on the bill.
Both GC and Manhasset have quality outside schedules. Manhassett plays both Cham and St Ants as well as Darien and JOhn Jay. I wish GC would stop ducking the Catholics. However, with teams like Salesianum, Smithtown West, St Iggys Duxbury and SWR, GC is not hiding either.
10 teams on Chaminade's schedule would be considered marquis match ups by any standard. St. Anthony's has 9 marquis match ups. However they play very similar schedules. And they will play each other 3 times. St Anthony's has respectable games against Darien, New Cannaan, Boys Latin and Staples. Chaminade has Match ups against Pequa, Mcdonogh and St. Iggy Prep. Looks like there is still room on both their schedules for another game so I hope they go for another strong pairing. Would like to see St Ants play another PA team. Would like to see Cham keep the West Islip rivalry alive.
My take is the Catholics have the two toughest schedules with St. Ants just a game better. Followed by Cham, Manhassett, GC , then Smithtown West.
GC would move up if they played St Ants,. Why don't the Catholics play GC. And Why does Ward Melville not play St. Ants?

Chaminade schedule correct?? They dropped Kellenberg and Dom's off?? Judging from last year... Cham's should blow out - Fairfield, Greenwich, Yorktown, St John's and Iona...

I don't think the final schedule is posted. The Catholic games are usually the last ones updated/posted. (Chaminade has always struggled with Yorktown for whatever reason. You can never count them out.)

Says the guy whose HS team is terrible!! Go to a great HS game on Long Island and then tell me all about club. Nobody cares more about Club Ball than they do about HS ball. Club is played in addition to not in place of HS lacrosse. In just about any good HS game on the Island you will see that the top kids all compete with and against each other in club ball during the off season. Just about all of the top kids from CSH, Manhasset, Syosset, Massapequa, Ward Melville, Smithtown, Chaminade, St, Anthony's etc... All play for the top club teams during the off season. They compete against the best while practicing/training and they are challenged when they compete against the best kids from other parts of the country and Canada (Crabs, FCA, Madlax. Sweetlax, Laxachussets, Edge, HHH, Mesa Fresh etc...) The level of competition in every conference on long island is very week. It is the same teams year in and year out who compete for championships. The catholic schools have more flexibility in terms of scheduling so they have a slight advantage regarding in season competition. Just about all recruiting is done on the club circuit. For the players who are fortunate enough to play on a top tier club team the advantages are many.

Pequa schedule is weak? I don't think so. They have Non League games @ Garden City, @ Chaminade, St Thomas Iquinas (Florida State Champs)..... Those are their 1st 3 games of the season, in an 8 day span. @ Smithtown East & Kellenberg still to follow Strong conference games against Farmingdale, Port and @ Syosset. Do they have a few games in the bag vs Uniondale, Baldwin, etc...yeah, but that is the conference.... Who else do you want on the schedule?

Okay, thanks for the Goodfellas line, now I know exactly the kind of dope you are. Here's a few others: 1) "Frankly, my dear. I don't give a damn." 2) "There's no place like home. There's no place like home. There's no place like home..." 3) "Made it, Ma! Top of the world!" 4) "...Bond. James Bond." 5) "You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig." I like those better. Goodfellas quotes are for IROC driving guido morons, wearing the sleeveless t-shirt while they water the patch of lawn with the hose, oops, sorry did I just out you pal?

They play St Anthony, west islip, garden city, chaminade, smithtown east, cold spring, northport. Forgot those are all weak teams!!!! Might want to double check that schedule. I don't see St A's, WI, Chammy or SE. [quote=Anonymous]I think Pequa, Farmingdale, SWR and Syosset have comparatively week schedules.
Ants?
Pequa schedule is weak? I don't think so. They have Non League games @ Garden City, @ Chaminade, St Thomas Iquinas (Florida State Champs)..... For those of you bickering over schedules, they are not all set, you will not find any one location that has all the games. You have to look at the various sources and reach out to the schools to get the real schedule.

No Coach in their right mind would play West Islip and St. Anthony's on back to back days! Not to mention the Nassau County schedule only allows 15 regular season games. What's the big deal> First they play PLainview/Hicksvill back2back and than Freeport/Baldwin back2back... I can't remember ever seeing a schedule with one back to backs much less two. And as to your second part...(coach in their right mind)......lmfao

Did not say Pequa weak sched... I said comparatively weak (relative to some of the others listed). NOT disparaging the team, just opining on the schedules.
Syosset schedule shown does not habe St ants and West Islip, so I dont know where that responding poster came up with that.

Syosset would never play both Cham and St. Ant's because the tend to loose kids to both schools.
If they loose big, then bye by next years crop.
