Under Armour is clearly the more prestigious of the two. However - unless it can escape the politics that picked last years team it ain't worth the $$$. Are the politics as bad in Baltimore for the UA?

Who exactly are you referring to as being "in control" of UA selections in 2016?

What do people think about the NLF event down at IMG this weekend? Attended last year. Decided not to go this year. A good event promoted as something more than it is. Same as any overnight training camp. The kids that attend are not necessarily the best of the NLF clubs and spots are filled with kids from some of the club's lower teams. It was also not sold out this year which says a lot. Still good training in sunny Florida so just like STX Rising, if a kids wants more practice in off season, wants to experience something a bit different at a beautiful facility and has the money, go for it. some of our team decided to save the money and go to the Syracuse indoor event run by United lacrosse. No promises were made who would be their from the NCAA coaching world but we were pleasantly surprised to see the entire coaching staff from Syracuse as well as many of the Upstate NY teams. The event ran on swiss time. Congrats Steve C great job!

Under Armour is clearly the more prestigious of the two. However - unless it can escape the politics that picked last years team it ain't worth the $$$. If your concerned about making the team and you don't play for one of the clubs doing the evaluations don't bother. But if your son wants to play in front of a good amount of coaches fo recruiting purposes at a reasonable reg. Fee and you don't have to leave the island, then it's more than worth it. The college coaches show up for the try out days because they know the fix is in. They understand that the best players don't necessarily make the team or even the final 88 or whatever the number they're using is now. Great point. My son is committed, but we don't play for one of the big clubs, so why bother? Mines committed as well. He wants to go, he'll smoke the kids they pick, and we'll have a laugh over it. Good lesson in how politics work. Same deal with that Brin$ deal back in 8th grade. Many of the kids that made those teams a few years back are still uncommitted. Why do you think LI can never win the UA event?

I think there were as many, if not more Crabs players than FCA players on the Baltimore Command team. Stands to reason as they are the best club teams in Baltimore and two of the best teams in the country.

Crabs and FCA - tied for #1 at Holdbacks!
There is a reason UA removed the birth dates of the players from their website - it's because it was an embarrassment.

Nothing like trotting out kids that should be Sophomores in college to play 17 and 18 year olds. Oh right they're in HS now it doesn't matter. So if it doesn't matter, why not put and age qualifier on the UA games? Should be U-18.

The head coach was from Gilman, a few people by position to evaluate. When you have 250 kids tryout for 22 slots, you are bound to get frustrated players and parents when the player is not selected

One of the assistant coaches was from Gilman and one was from Calvert Hall.

My son's favorite was when Ty wrote about an early commit team mate of his at an IL tourney, " so n so is a great teammate and communicator, both on the field and off." . My son's response to me, he's a great talent and real nice kid, but out of 5 tournaments he purposely stayed in a different hotel 4 times, and if there was one complaint from our coaches, he NEVER talked on the field "... comical

No - I don't think ALL of these events are money grabs. NXT Philly Freshman Showcase is well worth it if you can get in it. We had multiple requests for campus visits and several offers after playing in the all-star game.

Played at 4HHH and it was a good game. We asked for a rematch at their very own NLF event in Long Island the following week and sadly couldn't be accommodated. Edge are playing at 4HHH, Crabfeast and either NXT or NLF July 15-16. Hopefully we can play another game. No excuses from us as our full roster (no hockey) is coming with us,
