Yes they did beat blast , think that was 2025 not 2026 must be a typo . Actually the team that beat Blast at Hershey was mostly 2026's. They called themselves 2025 because 3 of their kids were 2025's. Blast and Orange are the same team, just changed name and a few mid-level players. Anyone who tells you different is being silly.

Yes they did beat blast , think that was 2025 not 2026 must be a typo . No they beat Orange not Blast. 2 years ago That is correct. Blast replaced Orange last year with the coaching change and an influx of new kids. The former Orange coach now is at the Ducks along with some of the former Orange players. What's in a name? A rose by any other name would still get beat by town teams. 3 good kids were swapped out for 3 different good kids. Don't make excuses.

Sachem youth lax has SYAG, SSC and Sachem Rising all competing, plus half of those do travel. So recruiting is expecting because what I have learned regardless of club, pal, town select teams... it's all about winning for the parents and coaches. That used just be club, now it's everywhere at every level. You at this thread debating a game that took place 16 months the ago when the kids just finished 2nd grade.

And they've lost to how many town teams in the last few years? I'm sure they're a good team, but I thought that no 90+1 team has ever been beaten by a town team unless it was the top team playing up. Are you sure this team wasn't playing up in these tournaments?

They had a handful of 1st graders on the team when they started and did not do much of anything. Coming into 3rd Grade, Joe Spallina put his name (and his kid) on the team and partnered with another big 91 coach... 65 kids later at a tryout, the team was full of more talented kids. Virtually any kid who was on from inception played on the "white" team last year until that fell apart this year. Be realistic... SYAG is good, but they are not even in the ballpark with Blast. Especially 2026 SYAG.

Can everyone just go easy on Blast please? That team has it tough. Do you think it's easy being the stepchild of the organization? Most "orange" teams are untouchable for the first 3-4 years and then everyone catches up. A lot of their teams play up in most fall/spring (and many summer) tourneys until 6th grade. Blast does not fit that mold. They've been good, but have lost several games every year (yes, even to town teams) and now they have been passed by Geese. They played up this fall and were completely outclassed on every level by mediocre teams. The truth is, the field has caught up to them already. They will likely still be a top 5 team after summer tourneys, but certainly don't hold the swagger of the past teams. Even putting JS's name on the team (making it the 6th most important lax team he coaches) couldn't save them.
Let's be clear, being a top 5 team is an incredible thing (even in a down year overall). They should be proud. The kids play hard and will win a bunch, but the parents just can't accept the reality (hence the "that was orange, this is Blast comments).
I think we are witnessing the demise of "orange". They can't even keep a 2nd team at the younger grades (2024 and under) and are becoming too expensive. The product just isn't what it was a few short years ago.
Legs will be the new big kids on the block. That program is on the rise. Taz, Geese and they grades to come are all solid teams. And they cost a lot less!
