Why is this group so focused on rating high school club teams and revising and arguing about 1-10? It does not matter anymore - in fact it is better for players not to be on those teams as they get seen as they are actually playing in games. All the clubs mentioned above do not focus on all their players - only the top ten on each of those teams gets to see any impactful time on the field. Better to be a starter on a 10-20 team then a bench sitter on any of the 1-10 teams. Probably true, only part that could be a problem is the Coaches are generally watching the top teams.

Agreed they start there but they have already been looking at those teams for summer and fall now - most who are going to be picked up "early" have been a but not true for the second tier 10-20 teams. Why would coaches go back and keep looking at the same 10 kids playing over and over because the team sits all but the top kids? Individual Showcases are also where kids are getting looked at now. The point is that some of the dads are so obsessed about arguing about the top 10 teams, while their kids are not getting all they can from the experience because they are sitting the bench. High school is very different from youth and most coaches are not really interested if you are on a top 10 team because they know that the starter on a 10-25 teams are generally more skilled than the bottom 50% of the top teams.

ANSWER: because it is the only way over the internet to measure your manhood (or lack thereof). The reality is that the kids on these teams are more alike than they are different. They are closer skill-wise than you wish to believe. And there are many other kids on "lesser" teams who could meaningfully contribute on these "top tier" teams if given the opportunity. So maybe pump the brakes on the whole list thing. It means nothing and you just sound silly and small. By the way, if you put 1% of the effort you expended toiling over your Top 10 List(s) into ranking and retaining a top ACT tutor you would be far better off.

You are right..they shouldn't even keep score at any games. How about we don't rank the high school teams either or have year end playoffs.. I guess you are all for "participation trophies" as well.. the clowns are out in full force on this post..

The lawn chairs are still only watching teams 1 through 8 play. That's why it matters if a player/parent/director is hoping to get their player "looks". next summer or fall those same coaches may be watching a wider range of teams but for now they are not.

I saw the end of the NH Tomahawks team donkey punching the FCA team at Sunday of NXT. Bigger, faster, stronger and more skilled wins. FCA has great coaching, balanced play, IQ but spread them out onto other teams and the same three kids stand out.

Top 3 FCA kids not present due to football. Rest of the starting group ( 4 commits) told to go home early because the other kids on squad deserved looks. The right thing to do. Well done by FCA coaching staff. So.....if FCA 2020 Blue and Tomahawks play 10 times, FCA Blue wins all 10 with average margin of victory being 5 plus goals. But it makes for great news in NH this time of year. Fall Ball, hilarious.

Ok guru... at NXT plenty of coaches all over the fields in the Predators/fl$/Tri State/NEXT LEVEL bracket... keep drinking your own cool aid...

What do we know about Predators 2020 out of NY? Saw them at fl$ and they looked very good. A little smaller than the elite teams I've seen in 2020. But very fast, great skills and high lacrosse IQs. My guess is they have fewer holdbacks, and thus the size difference.

FCA, Crabs and Looneys bar - what is the over/under on single and double reclassed kids? The MIAA and their feeder club teams are everything that is wrong with youth lacrosse. What are you gonna do when things go age based and you can't stock your lineup with man-children?

Predators 2020 went 1-2 and finished last in their bracket at the only decent tourney they played this fall (Philly Freshman). They have holdbacks too.

What are you gonna do when things go age based and you can't stock your lineup with man-children? Why do you ask the same damn stupid question on a weekly basis, the over/under blah blah blah. One of the things wrong with youth lacrosse is people like you, who just wants to [lacrosse] because their son isn't an elite player and isn't getting any looks. Oh, and now you have a new word--man-children. Where do you come up with this crap. This is what will happen if it goes back to age base, the three teams you mentioned will continue to win and beat your teams butt every time. Outside of Crabs having the most holdbacks of any elite team, the other two you mentioned do not have that many. I know, hard for you to understand but those are the facts bunky.

These clubs are full of kids who should be playing on teams one or two years older. 16 year old 8th graders doesn't exactly make the playing field level.
The amount of kids playing lacrosses is down, attendance at the NCAA Final Four is down. Why? In part because lacrosse is viewed as a sport of rich privleged kids whose parents will bend to rules to get ahead.
Sportsmanship, honor, integrity are not the strong suit of the holdback crowd. Win at all costs. If Biff can't compete with his 8th grade pals - let's just hold him back a year so he can play with little Trigg.

The number HS offering Lacrosse nationwide is at an all time high. With regard to the final four. It's Memorial Day weekend, terrible weekend to hold the tournament. With expanded TV coverage most don't see value in going to the games. TV viewer ship is also at all time high. I will agree the hold back thing is a black mark on this sport that really needs to be removed. Age requirements are in place for every other legitimate sport. It's just laughable what's going on. As I posted on another thread, MD D1 recruits are way down from just 3 years ago. About 90+ kids from MD going D1. Down from 200 3 years ago. Can you imagine all these dim witted MD parents that held back their kids 1 or 2 years in hopes of a D1 dream? Only to now have a 20 year old freshman at a D3 school. Wow. Not sure if there's any correlation, but one would think their D1 commits would be way up. The facts say otherwise. Seems this hold back thing is not panning out the way folks hoped. Sure they look like superstars in 8th grade, but to be clear, these kids are not success stories. Sad really.

Bingo! There is an aristocracy in lacrosse which needs to change. US Lacrosse (actually their insurance company, Bollinger), where are you? These clubs are full of kids who should be playing on teams one or two years older. 16 year old 8th graders doesn't exactly make the playing field level.

Now that these 2020s (19s and 18s in the case of some) are getting to the point where most of the younger players who have been playing against older reclassed kids are hitting puberty the advantage of re-classed players is diminishing. Any of the elite club teams could beat the other on any given day.
