Madlax-Looney's I watched the game it wasn't like a 10-0 game. More like a 9-0 game Then you saw all the call/no-calls that would have changed the game. Talk about home cooking. saw 10 goals to mad lax zero

Lets put Fall Ball into perspective. It's not about winning or losing - it's for the coaches. So they know what they are working with as a result of the try-out. Little Johnny looked great for 2 hours of drills - lets see what the team looks like playing together. Many of the clubs haven't registered for their summer tourney's yet. They use these games as a barometer to what tournament they will play.

The score was 10-0 - I was there, and I watched the game. All day, every game, the calls were terrible, but just like I told my son - the refs didn't score on you, the other team did. Looneys was the only team in Madlax's division that was decent - the other two were LA Heat and MDX, who both probably should have played single A. Bottom line is, Madlax was not even close to the same league as Looneys in that game, and I have no love whatsoever for Looneys, so that is tough for me to even say. Madlax is not looking impressive at all, it does not matter what pieces they added, the are simply OK - they are simply not in the same class as Looneys, Crabs, Legacy, Leading Edge, etc. who also played this weekend. When you lose 10-0, you got beat - Looneys outplayed Madlax, period. Please stop the nonsense.

Some beautiful parts of Glen Cove and it doesn't feel like you live in Queens all gridded out, land locked and surrounded on all sides by thugs...Typical Garden City attitude knocking another town. That is why no one likes you.

36goals against to 6 goals for b team. 26 goals against to 5 goals for a team. Don't really think anyone should be happy with those numbers. Both teams will be fine just have to learn how to play with each other.

And should have won if not for incompetent officiating. I think the weekend was as much about level setting for spring as opposed to competing. We knew going in it was going to be a challenge After 4 practice don't think there ready for a tournament like that. And the B team tied a team the A team lost to

Yes. If a youth team loses, it's always because of the officials.
Always. Every time. Are you that weird Madlax dad?

pretty sure the guy was kidding about the officiating not making an excuse for the teams performance is how I read it. I guess everyone is always looking to pounce on people on hear with negativity.

Bluefish is a brand new club so there will be some growing pains. They need to keep practicing. At this age, the practice won't make that much of a difference. The talented kids will get put there and excell regardless of practice. That's what they do at the showcases. They findicated a way to win. Practice overrated.

Seen it time and time again. Kids who are skilled and smart players (Some getting there due to their own hard work, with perhaps a parent or sibling) gets asked to play on a pick up team, along with other similar players, and they beat good, established teams that practice together frequently. If A kid is good, he/she will be good no matter what team you put them on, in general of course! It goes the other way too!

hate to break it to you but no one cares about winning and losing at showcases. You can ask any college coach at those things, all they look at is individual players not scores of games. they are meaningless.

Exactly. These youth parents are idiots. When their kids go to HS, then they'll learn that nobody cares who wins a game or a tournament.

Exactly. These youth parents are idiots. When their kids go to HS, then they'll learn that nobody cares who wins a game or a tournament. You're right - NOBODY cares who wins a game or tournament. Certainly not your kid right? Cause that is what it means to be a good lacrosse player -- not caring about wins or losses. Do some of you parents actually read what you post on the forums? You conflate things like a SHOWCASE vs. HIGH SCHOOL ball. Do you think the kids at The Hill, Landon, Prep, Haverford, etc. don't care about winning? Seriously? You think the coaches there care, and by proxy care how your son performs on the field with the team? Seriously. Get a grip.

original post said "showcases", the college coaches don't care who wins or loses the game, that is 100% accurate. Everyone who has ever played in the games or any sport cares about winning.
