Terrible coaching at Huntington.

Maybe the other teams were better?

When they were winning no complaints two losses and the crying starts

Three losses after yesterday ,must be the coaching

Please , both those kids you are talking about are excellent players .My daughter had the opportunity to play on a team with both of them and they are two of the best on Long Island.Got to speak with their travel coach who happens to be the dad of one of them and he could not have been more complimentary about the WB girl so I am sure it came as no surprise to him that she had no problem finding the net.

Not for nothing, but Com and Harb both had weak schedules. Compare their schedule to RP and MP, those are some nasty schedules. I realize the power points try to level the playing field but both of those teams have 4 wins each vs the bottom four teams, teams that have a combined record of 3-38 where RP played one of the bottom four and MP didn't have a game yet vs the bottom 4

Who makes the rules in Suffolk County?

Division I - more than half the teams make the playoffs? 12 teams get in.

Division III - 5 teams make it?

All 5 teams that make the playoffs in Division III would probably win the championship in Division 1 .

All County

Maybe the non league schedule have something to do with their power ranking?

Not sure but as with any process some deserving players may be overlooked.

Both. The farther your team goes in playoffs, the more award spots are allotted to the team. Coaches can negotiate with the other coaches.

Team coaches nominate and conference coaches vote

How pathetic that the size of school Connetquot is and our JV and V teams cannot put a winning program out on the field. Time for change? Who is to blame, how do we change this?

The better your team ( the more establlished your coach) the more spots your team will have for all the awards ie. all league, all county
imo if your team doesnt make the playoffs you wont get any all county spots no matter how good your player is.
weak coaches wont/can't fight the established coach for the nomination,
strong coaches wont give up their all county spots

The reason your team is not that good is 2-fold. First, since there really wasn't an established town program in the past, there is not a deep talent pool among your older kids. Second, the rules set forth by the district in response to parents complaining that their darling is being displaced by a younger child. That has stopped numerous talented girls from having an opportunity to play at the HS level, either on JV or V. Just ask the coaches. And don't tell me that the younger kids can't compete at that level.

They have a good town program now and the talent is making its way up to the HS. They brought up a bunch of younger girls the last two years and it definitely didn't make them a winning program. That's not the issue. They should be pretty good in a couple years.

Yeah we get it. No need to say it twice. Good thing is they play in Suffolk. Comparing apples to oranges. Most Nassau teams couldn't hang in Maryland but no one cares.

I find it strange that suffolk will be favored to win A,C while Nassau will be favored to win B. If you took an all star team from suffolk and played an all star team from nassau the team from suffolk would be heavily favored in my opinion yet in many peoples opinion especially those from nassau lacrosse barely exists anywhere but nassau. Is it that lacrosse talent is more spread out in suffolk compared to nassau where its more concentrated in a few towns.

There are only three B towns that are consistant, Manhasset, Garden City and Wantagh. All the other B towns never get more than a handful of strong players and then the bottom of their rosters are weak. A is always up and down and Cold Spring which is usually pretty strong plays no one in the C playoffs.

As Senior days approach we will find out how many coaches do the right thing and play all of the Seniors for at least a couple of minutes in their last home game.

Take a look at GC's score against Oceanside… it was their senior day and every senior played and from the looks of it… scored… GC does the right thing. Their coaches get it.

What was the score/result? Not a Newsday subscriber so don't get high school scores so easily.
