Any daughter who has parents dissuading her from Duke(assuming that was an option) is being misguided. Who cares if the coach isn’t great. The school is great. Get your priorities in line.
Unless they had other options like:
Penn, Princeton= Same or better academics with an excellent chance at a conference championship and possibly beyond, and closer (win,win)
Northwestern= Equal academics with a pretty much guaranteed conference championship and strong shot at a NC
Another great option with strong academics (not as strong as the others) but still great, but with better lax than Duke: ND
