Non traditional areas usually have a different set of rules
Do they play the same sport with uniform rules? The tryouts should be run the same way regardless of the region. UA/Nike should hire a woman’s director of Lax or work with the IWLCA and layout a process to select the best girls from each region and have them play, not rotate a bunch of $$$ motivated biased club directors in to coach it who can’t pick the best girls bc they have to pick their girls to validate their club fees and so they can say they developed her. When a HS all American doesn’t make the call back game…. It Highlights the problem…
100% if long island wants to WIN the event then why not pick the BEST players. how can a legit duke commit who was an AA this year not make callback after being on the team the past 3 years??? but still the talent on UA is much better than AS
Talent is absolutely not better on UA, look at the rosters, many of the better girls went to AS. The Duke commit was hot and cold this season, didn’t play well and did not deserve to advance. You want the tryout to be fair, right?
The Duke commit led her HS team to an undefeated season and LI championship and was an All American. Like it or not she will likely be the face of the 22 Suffolk Senior class replacing the BBP player who just graduated. The only up and down is the repetitive over exaggerated unnecessary head / shoulder fakes of the player likely to take her spot. Best of luck to those that make it.
Wait…a YJ didn’t get pushed through do to her reputation? Guess that’s what happens when CR isn’t pulling strings behind the seen. Don’t agree with her being the “face”. good player, many just as good or better many of whom will be Jrs.
Selection process is skewed at both. Get rid of the club directors and club coach’s as evaluators. UA/Nike should have a much better evaluation process for their tryouts
