Enough already with 6th graders. 27’s are on the clock as far as recruiting goes. Who has looked good so far this fall? Team Ten 2027 is the best local 2027 team. Morsell, Luchovich and French on that team are some of the top recruits in the entire class. All three were getting legitimate varsity minutes on the top teams in the Inter Ac as freshmen. Good players! The team plays worse then it use to. Got rid of daddy ball, yet some how the players got worse. Keep an eye on Brotherly Love. They have some great players and much better coaching. Really? Currently ranked 5 nationally on US Club lax but playing worse? Doesn't make any sense. Regardless, it should be a good game if TT and BL played as it looks like BL put together a respectable 2027 squad. Do you really believe rankings after six games means anything? Last year TT performed worse then the year before. Who knows what will happen this year? Their offense is not as good as it use to be, in spite of picking up several strong players. Their defense is mid. BL picked up two or three strong middies and some good d players who elected to leave TT. When TT and BL faced off last year TT took it. I believe this year BL is worth a watch. Currently ranked 8th nationally, but still irrelevant given so few games. No I don't 100% buy into rankings after 6 games, don't ask me such a ludicrous question; however I used that as an easily accessible datapoint to substantiate the fact that TT 2027 is a serious contender to be a top team nationally. I've seen TT 2027 play numerous times this year. They have legitimate talent at every position. Skilled attackman (two of the best in the entire class), athletic middies that can run by people and shoot on the run, big physical defense, etc. They have all the pieces to play at a very high level. Only things that could hold them back this year would be injuries, practice continuity and or coaching, all which I'm in the know on for this team. Regardless good luck to both TT and BL You are the guy that chose to use the rankings to make your point. TT and BL are both "serious contenders." I am not taking anything away from them. In a BL TT matchup. TT takes attack definitely deep and an insane amount of talent. Agreed they have two of the best, but it seems they don't play that well together. BL TT middies are close. Maybe tied, but I would give a slight edge to BL. I think it could be argued the other way. BL takes goalies and defense. TT d is big but slow. BL defense is quicker, cover better and have better stick skills. The starting defense for TT is not big and slow........the goalies are both very good as well. They will play again at some point but last year's game was not really even a close game. The big players are slow. TT has a very good defender who is not particularly big and is not slow. He is also very good. I just think BL has better defenders overall. TT's goalies are both very good. BL's goalies are just better. They will play again and it should be a great game. MvB is a beast. TT lost him because of an inability to evaluate talent. BL picked up a couple of other great mids from TT.

The problem with Next Level is the coaching, they don't play to win and end of game clock management is terrible. More than a few parents are considering options. There are issues virtually everywhere... Hawks- Pittsburg kids don't have to practice yet get more playing time than legacy hawks kids of superior talent True Chessy- enjoy your starting job until coach finds a better player in North Carolina or Georgia willing to fly in and take his spot (page out of crabs playbook) Madlax- everything is kosher as long as you don't mind being a cog in a machine, the team keeps winning and CM doesn't decide to reclass his kid and destroy team cohesion. Oh, please ignore the families that have already left the toxicity. True VA/VLC- massive step down in talent and competition. Maybe DC Express could be an option. They aren't as competitive at the 29 age group yet but are growing and are an elite organization. By next year they will be a power.

Any news from the mid-atlantic? This board seems to go quiet when heros and sw aren’t winning. Great lacrosse as always with these teams. M&D continues to show they are a step ahead of everyone else. CM looked great, beating Heros. Heros is still a top team and they'll figure it out, but they are definitely #3 in the region at this point. Tradition, MDU and Integrity are the in the next tier of solid teams, with SW being right behind them. A very talented, deep class of athletes!! To clarify CM meant Coppermine in the post above. Coppermine beat Heros and looks to be the #2 team in the region behind M&D at this point. Didn't know that M&D DC (Next Level) coach's initials were CM. They definitely have some great players and a very good goalie. I see them in the same tier as Tradition and Integrity but not yet in the mix with M&D, Coppermine and Heros. Too many initials… CM is the coach of MDU (Maryland United) not M&D DC.

[quote=Anonymous]What does everyone think were the most notable results from the weekend. My biggest takeaway is that there is a lot of parity in the 2028 age group now. Anyone can beat anyone at any given time. Usually what happens once they hit high school. makes games a lot more fun to watch. I agree with this. Also think many teams are taking more of a team approach this year which makes for better lacrosse. So these teams never played team lacrosse before this year? What a concept! Many of the teams were playing to win more than showcase, which does often mean subbing less and disproportionately running the ball through certain players. Now that they're in HS, and playing more showcases, everyone should be playing, there is more of a team approach, more assisted goals as the girls mature, etc. Don't be dense.[/quote Excited to see team lacrosse and less excuses of why they aren't winning because of it. 😂 This is a leap you are making, no one else. Also, they’re in high school now, no one cares about your team rivalries anymore. Get a new hobby.

Express roster over haul has proven most impressive. Fair statement unfortunately at the expense of the rest of the roster can’t feel good to be the one footing the bill The promise of “we’ll make and enter a second AA team in each tournament” not panning out? Nobody has ever made a second AA team. However, plenty of AA and A second teams. The team just elevated to top 5 national team. Of course kids are being displaced. Nothing wrong with an A team vs the AA. Only thing gets hurt is the ego.

Do all clubs not include winter training or practice in their fee any longer? Express East has it included. They practice all winter at the Stony Brook indoor facility.

2way stopper school is just a bunch of college kids shooting on the goalies. Pure $$$ grab. No real teaching on technique from coaches. Not really worth the price tag, better off grabbing couple buddies and shooting at a local turf field if the weather isn’t too bad. Don’t know much about Next Save so can’t speak on that.

Unfortunately there was a real ugly hit this weekend at the Aloha tournament at Blandair park. Kid on Clippers took a terrible hit to the head, was down for a fairly long time and did finally walk off on his own. Hopefully he is alright now. There have been a few ugly hits like this that have popped up over the spring / summer and now into fall. I thought this incident was handled well by the tournament trainers, coaches, etc. Referees also made the correct call to eject the player who laid the hit. For me the question becomes is there a way to deter these hits anymore than they already are? I am not sure what that would look like in terms of suspending players or what? Or is this just an unavoidable reality? Just par for the course with the current age windows and enforcement. It's a bogey with the over-agressive coaching. Perhaps there should be more pre-game warnings on this stuff but ejection and 3 minute non-releasable with a coach warning and coach ejection on the next one would put an end to it right away. I think it's unavoidable, unfortunately. Even NFL refs with decades of experience often need slow motion replay to figure out if elite athletes who have been playing their sport for decades committed targeting vs making hard but legal contact. I don't think it's realistic to expect youth lax refs making $75 a game and two to an entire field and a bunch of 15-year-olds to somehow perform to a higher standard. Youth football places a lot more emphasis on concussion awareness and safe tackling so it would probably be possible to improve things somewhat, but I don't think you'll ever eliminate the risk entirely.

Question on brackets all depends on the size of the tournament. Most tournaments have 2 maybe 3 top brackets, usually the 2nd has 2-3 teams that could be in the top bracket.
President's Cup this weekend, as example has 28 brackets for 2027. I think anything in that top-5 you should feel good about.

Spalding is the top dog in Annapolis when it comes to recruiting now. That ship has sailed for St Mary’s. All the top kids are going to Spalding now. But the Prostart kids are flooding the hallways of SM. Unreal talent! Lol, if I was growing up in AACO right now, Spalding is the place to be. The public school across the street is much nicer and free. Nicest schools, fields, venues, etc.....McDonogh, Loyola, Gilman and St. Paul's.

Well said. My son and I just had this convo this past wknd. He knows he’s not a top tier D1 player, but still wants to play in college. I told him, have fun, be a great teammate, continue with your grades, and you’ll have many more opportunities than I did when I graduated high school.
I am hopeful that parents on here are getting some return for their money, not being satisfied that their kid is wearing an Express sticker or 91 sticker, and never seeing the field. Great coaching + playing time = positive experience. You need both. Good luck to everyone this season.

2032 Observations from the fall is that the 2nd teams or 2nd tier clubs really struggled. There are 4 or 5 teams that will not last beyond this season in my opinion. No need to list the teams. Everyone sees the scores. There is absolutely no value in just throwing a team in tourneys just to forfeit or get blown out. This shouldn’t happen because there are good coaches (not necessarily clubs) that will focus on development and more importantly put the team on the right path to success. I think people forget that in travel the families are the clients and the clubs have to earn the business.

NL beats Hawks one time in 6 years in fall ball and are now considered a tier above. Got it. I think when you look at the total body of work over the last year and head-to-head match-ups, it’s pretty clear that NL is a step above. Results from 1st-7th grade don’t really matter. NL and Hawks may still be on the same tier but it doesn't help Hawks losing to DCE. It also doesn't help Hawks took a couple of NL players and lost to NL a couple of weeks ago. Who left the Hawks for those NL players to join? NL beats Hawks one time in 6 years in fall ball and are now considered a tier above. Got it. Everybody does it at this level. The top players on both the Hawks and NL will have an opportunity to play in college. That’s all that matters.
