Seaford kid plays for 91 starting in 2nd grade
Kid submitted all Seaford residence and school paperwork and was approved in 2020 for WSYL
Same kid is on Team 91 and living on Long Island in July 2020
Kid moves to TX (during Covid) and continues to practice and play regularly with 91
Parents and 91 request and confirm with WSYL Organization that kid is still eligible due to unique circumstances
Multiple teams see kid during qualifiers and post the TX kid issue here on BOTC.
Several teams know, and even CoachC knows.
Kid and parents provide photo with TX club info and did not hide in any way
Kid was great in Qualifiers
Kid comes up frequently and works his rear end off.
Kid comes back full time after school year finishes in TX
Kid is really great in WSYL
91 won 5 games and lost 0 in preliminaries
91 wins quarterfinal and semi final games
91 Plays in Championship game on TV and wins 9-5

91 Received Trophy from Jake and Quint and are told they are the Champs
Kid gets a plaque and a watch from WSYL

I would guess that Express parents were told not to discuss.

Neither am I , but I agree with him. If a tournament is grade based and there are older kids on a team, dont complain. If a tournament is area based, and a team got tournament heads to approve a player, don't complain. Cant have it both ways.

I think the only ones that should comment are the ones that were there and know what happened. Too much hearsay.

This win will always have a big asterisk on it it. Did parents and 91 request an exception? Would be great to hear from WSYL as to how it was handled.

Anyone have any intel on Checkmate Lacrosse out of GC? Saw a tryout announcement and have never heard of them.

I know asking about a non-AAAA team is always risky here, but I'm wondering if it might be an option for my son.

2 different topics:

-91: Won, its over , move on
-Express: Parents are Laxaholics. Sit back and watch them embarass themselves & their kids on/off field

What about Regulators & Rebels? Heard the Rebs coach got flagged for carrying on? Regs coach seems composed. They looked good but had a tough back-to-back draw

Agree. Congrats 91 now move on.

WSYL over now everyone you play will be older, not grade age, guest players, you name it. Deal with it. Everyone will be chasing the big clubs to get their kid recruited. So unrealistic for a 2025 to be thinking about that already. Sadly for most of them it's not much fun anymore. Nowadays if you tell a coach or program you're not looking to play in college you become an outsider.
