RECAP OF THE 2018 O2 SKYLINE BOX INVITATIONAL & THE PLAYERS THAT STOOD OUT
This past weekend, the USBOXLA sanctioned event, the 2018 O2 Skyline Box Invitational took place out of the Inline Skating Club of America in North Arlington, New Jersey for the JV Divison.
Congratulations to the 2018 O2 Skyline Box Invitational winner, Akwesasne Aces on their championship game win over the tournament hosts, O2 National Box.
Standouts of the Day:
Nick Hill, 2020 Goalie with Akwesasne Aces out of Syracuse NY - Hill only allowed 2 goals in the championship game that helped propel the team to hoisting the Championship Trophy.
Ethan Gess, 2021 A/M with O2 Nationals out of Glen Rock, NJ - Gess was both versatile with his left and shifty with his right keeping the goalies on their toes most of the day between his goal scoring abilitiies and his great field awareness. Was selected to the 2020/2021 NJ Brine Team and competed in the Brine National Classic last summer so he will be a name we will be reading more about as he is only a freshman with a bright future.
David Doumar, 2021 Goalie with LCNY out of NY, NY - Doumar was the backbone of the defense playing among a combination of freshman and sophomores and was a wall in net all day with his great positioning & vocal leadership leading his team to the semi-finals.
Next Up:
On February 10th & 11th, the O2 Skyline Box Invitational will be hosting Express, Island Box, 91, Resolute Force, Team 95 and the O2 Nationals for the 5th/6th and 7th/8th Grade Divisions.
